As I'm sitting here eating the leftover pierogis, figured I'd share my review While I was in Parma snagging some tasty baked goods, I checked for any thrift stores in the area. Two stores popped up in a plaza, but what caught my eye was a business named "Pierogi House" So I set my gps to head there... They DID NOT disappoint! The owners were working the kitchen - one peeling potatoes and the other working the grill. I ordered a chicken gyro and a 6 pack of potato & cheese pierogi. Wow The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned. I'm pretty sure that they add feta (and maybe red pepper?) to their tzatziki, because it was packed with all kinda flavors! Stuffed so full, it burst out the side of the pita They are served with fresh, seasoned potato wedges. I love the seasoning as it reminds me of what the Russian owner of the Italian restaurant in Hollywood Beach, sprinkles on his breakfast potatoes. The pierogies were massive - 6 pack weighed just under 2 lbs - served with fresh grilled onions and packed with a delicious cheesy mashed potato filling. Best part: Gyro combo was $10 and the 6 pack pierogi was only $7.99! They had said that they just recently switched over from a market to restaurant and business was ok but far from great. After eating their food, it can only be because ppl don't know about them... Cuz that ish was DELICIOUS So go check em out and after you do, tell all your friends to do the same. I'm gonna be real salty if this place closes!! *Went back today and it was just as good. They now offer kielbasa with the pierogi. It's delish! read more

WOW never doubt the power of the pierogi ! wow, I wasn't sure about the seating, but there is plenty so I'll go on in there and dine in. I did carry out today. It was a Saturday morning. I've got the cabbage rolls and mashed potatoes, the Kraut and I added some of my own beets and I heated it up at home. 350 for 45 min. covered. It was wonderful. Pure Polski! Two good guys running the kitchen and a good crowd for breakfast on Saturday morning. I will definitely be back to try the other stuff. I got the goulash to go as well. I'm gonna eat that probably for lunch tomorrow on Sunday. It's too bad the Browns have to be on too. I've been searching and searching for GALUMPKI that is as good as my uncles, which was my grandmother's Polish recipe and this place takes the cake. Now that is a Polish stuffed cabbage. 10 stars if I could! If you're looking for a place that feels like comfort food, celebration, and amazing service, all wrapped into one, Pierogi House absolutely delivers. This was my first time visiting, and we went around town on our own self guided food tour, to celebrate my friend's birthday. Honestly, I don't think we could've picked a better spot to end our afternoon at. We ordered the pierogi dinner with kielbasa, and WOW. The cheddar and potato pierogies were HUGE, rich, perfectly cooked,and paired so well with the sauerkraut and sour cream. Everything tasted homemade in the best way! It smelled and tasted like someone's grandma was back there making sure we didn't leave hungry. The kielbasa had that perfect snap and smoky flavor that just tied the whole meal together. But what really made the experience stand out was the service!!! Our waitress was incredibly attentive and immediately noticed my friend wearing her birthday sash across her chest (which I love because not everywhere picks up on those little details). We decided to have a little fun and stuck a candle in a pierogi like it was her "birthday cake" and instead of just laughing it off and walking by, the staff leaned ALL the way in. Next thing we know, they come out with an actual beautiful slice of cake with a candle in it, for her, and not just one but multiple staff members (including,I think, the owner) came over to wish her a happy birthday as well.. You could tell they genuinely cared about making the moment special. Also, practical but important, parking was super easy with a lot right behind the building, which makes a huge difference in that area. We drove from Mentor, and I'm telling you right now, completely worth it. So worth it, we're already have plans to go back again tomorrow In summary : Incredible food, genuinely warm service, and the kind of place that turns a simple lunch into a memory. I ordered chicken shish kebabs. I received maybe one and a half chicken thighs, deboned, and some potatoes that were roasted cut and halves. When you think shish kebab you think of something on a skewer, perhaps some vegetables with it. This was nothing like what I imagine. Price was high for a portion. We found this place because my sister-in-law who is visiting from Florida said she never gets good pierogi. The restaurant has just been remodeled and everything is fresh and clean. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was amazing! We enjoyed the potato pancake appetizer and pierogi plate. The pierogi potato and cheese filling was creamy and delicious. The sauerkraut and kielbasa were perfectly cooked. We also were impressed by their house made desserts. The honey cake was not super sweet but sooo good. I've never had anything like it. My husband and sister-in-law really liked the Napoleon. We will be back to Pierogi House whenever we are in town. read more

We stopped in to get some handmade frozen pierogi, we chose the sweet cheese type since we have not had that flavor before. The owners were there making a fresh batch of potato filled pierogi since they were sold out. They have lots of pre made items, a deli meat case with all types of cured meats, and a small grocery store. Friendly staff. This is evidently a newer restaurant, they used to have just a deli and a few tables. The restaurant area is very inviting and the seating is such that you don't overhear other conversations. We stumbled upon this gem while on the hunt for the best paczki in Cleveland around Fat Tuesday. I'm obsessed with pierogi and any chance I can try and authentic, homemade one, I'm all in. Pierogi House did NOT disappoint. We got six potato and cheese pierogi and watched one of the owners cook them on the flat top right in front of us. The container had to have weighed 3-4 pounds and just six pierogi fed two of us. That's how BIG they are. The dough and filling were absolutely incredible. We always look for good, local food spots when traveling and did we ever find one at Pierogi House! We tried the Western Omelette, Original Breakfast, and potato and cheese pierogies. Everything was delicious, including the perfectly cooked potato wedges and toast that come with all breakfast entrées. Even the house coffee was a step above. What an exceptional find! A real gem of a place hidden away. I was on a road trip with my best friend (both of his parents are the children of Polish immigrants) and he suggested this place based on some research while driving East along route 80. Do not be fooled by the exterior of this restaurant and market, it is a diamond in the rough. I live more than 500 miles away, and am already trying to find a long weekend to drive back just to eat here. The food is excellent! We were there for a late lunch, and there was only one other table with people at it. We got to speak to the chef and co-owner (Oleg Makhayev); he is a wonderful, warm and kind human being. He is the kind of business owner that you want to support. We both ordered the three pierogi lunch. After talking with Oleg, we switched from the potato/cheese pierogi to the pork and onion. We both added kielbasa. I also added sauerkraut and my friend added a potato pancake. We grabbed a table and waited for our food. Then Oleg brought out our plates, but there were three of them and only two of us. Oleg told us he added a potato and cheese pierogi for us to try on the house. How awesome is that??!? His food was fantastic. The pork and onion pierogi were the best I have ever had. The flavor was off the charts. The wrapper was perfectly cooked. I am veteran food professional, and I have never had pierogi this good. The Bavarian style sauerkraut was a new experience for me, and I am glad that I got to have it. The slight sweetness with the caraway seeds was fantastic. After eating we talked with the Oleg some more; he was so clearly deeply passionate about the food that he made, and so appreciative of how much we loved the experience. My only regret, as I sit here writing this review, is that my friend and I did not immediately go and find local a source for dry ice and coolers and fill them up with frozen pierogi to take back East with us. We will probably call Oleg in the near future to see if we can get him to ship pierogi to us. As a former chef, this is the kind of truly authentic food experience that I crave. Oleg clearly took real pride in his craft and is an exceptional person and host. In a world where so much has been lost for the sake of convenience and speed, it was so amazing to get to share a meal that is made from the heart and the soul. This is the kind of food that tells a story and takes you to the nation of origin. Again, I live more than 500 miles (eight hours in a car) away and I cannot wait to find an excuse to come back. If you live closer than I do, what are you waiting for??!?? Support the kind of local food that deserves to thrive and grow in America. This place has hands down the best pierogis I have ever tasted. I have tried many pierogis in the Cleveland area, and these take the trophy. They are MASSIVE - especially the ones stuffed with meat and the casing is perfectly tender. I love to fry the take out ones golden brown at home. THIS RESTAURANT/GROCERY IS TOTALLY AMAZING!!! It is SO clean and filled with wonderful specialty items for purchase. There are so many different types of pierogi to purchase, plus all of everyone's favorite Eastern European items such as stuffed cabbage, kielbasa, cabbage and noodles, potato pancakes, and more. Everything is homemade with great care and pride by the family that owns the restaurant. They are all very attentive to their customers and really CARE that everyone's dining experience is exceptional. AND THE FOOD!!!! OMG! I have never had a better breakfast in my life! The eggs are SO VERY FRESH! (Yikes, they taste like EGGS!) Everything is seasoned to perfection with some very interesting combinations. Even the coffee is exceptional (and hot!) Nice, clean and welcoming newer restaurant. They serve breakfast starting at 7:00 am. I stopped by about 6:30 pm to check out their pierogi. Impressive size. I ordered 1/2 dozen of the potato and cheese pierogi served with butter and onions with a side of sour cream. The potatoes were perfect. I can't wait to stop for breakfast !!! I loved the Pirogi breakfast- the potato cheese pirogis were double the size you would find anywhere else and delicious. Also they came with eggs which were the best tasting scrambled eggs ever. I wonder what their secret is. The place is very clean. They also have fresh packaged food items to buy and in an adjoining room large bags of pirogis to buy and take home.
