Fair warning disclosure, I'm from STL and I used to live in TX and KC, so I'm familiar with BBQ. My preference is to have a BBQ with a good rub and smoke, dry with sauce on the side. This way I can tell if the ribs, brisket etc. is really good. Let's face it-sauce can cover up a lot of BBQ sins. I rolled up to Pig and Pint and found the restaurant to be really cool, lots of seating (outdoors) at large picnic tables. The staff is young and friendly and they have a lot of BBQ options. I went with the basics, 2 meat sampler, brisket, ribs with mac and cheese and smoked green beans. Both meats were tender and fall apart and fall off the bone. The brisket had good flavor, a lot of fat. The bones had a strong bark, came apart easily but not a ton of flavor. Bottom line, they needed some sauce. I tried the hot sriracha and the house sauce which was sort of a sweet zesty with what appeared to be some coffee or black pepper. Each were fine but combined they were solid. The portions were good sized, the sides were smaller but good and I liked them the best. The smoked green beans were my favorite. The area where Pig and Pint is located is cool, has a good vibe and a sweet used record store down the street. Check it out, you'll likely enjoy it. They have a decent beer selection. I would maybe avoid their salads. I got the chicken Cesar and I didn't really like it. These guys came up high on the Yelp list for "highly rated" so I stopped in to check these guys out during my trip back to Austin. Needless to say it was a mediocre experience unfortunately, I think I got burned on this one. Although Customer service was superb, the food overall was less than okay, and those baby back ribs were dry and bland and did not live up to their award-winning status. I should have taken note with Jonathan T's review. It smells good here, there's always a line but it moves quickly. The guy at the register was really patient and nice - in fact everyone was here, even the runners and bussers. Great customer service here. I got the baby back ribs plate with 2 sides, we chose the coleslaw and fried green tomatoes. Also asked for some fries and potato salad. Free drink on your Yelp check-in. We also added the pork corn dogs. Food came out swiftly, here's the breakdown: - Baby Back Ribs - were dry, lacked flavor and smoke. They fell off the bone but they were not award winning by any means and more on the bland side. I'm glad I just got a half rack. Maybe poor execution or ribs that were sitting too long, but I was highly disappointed after paying $17. - Coleslaw had too much mayo-sauce, it was completely drenched in it and overpowered the slaw itself. The sauce is thicker than normal coleslaw - (which usually can drip off) so it sticks to the slaw and I'm sorry - just way too much for me. 2 bites and I was done. - The potato salad was the highlight of my experience here believe it or not - cut up like fries and had a nice mayo and good seasoning, I do highly recommend. - The pork corn dogs were okay. Nothing special but okay. Mustard was bland and a bit wet, it lacked flavor, but nothing out of this world. I think these were a distant 2nd place in what I had to eat here. - Fries were a disappointment. I know they make their own fresh fries here but they gave me a bad batch that had likely sat too long. I was going to go up and switch 'em out but by then I was quite full, not too happy with most of the meal, and I didn't need any more fries for my diet so I passed. But the fries were not that flavorful so that didn't provoke me to get more I guess. Overall it was 2-stars (could of been better) which about sums it up. I came here for the baby back ribs which were so hyped up, and I was just so disappointed - especially for what I paid for them, 4-5 ribs for $17 and change. The awesome customer service and very good potato salad saved them here - but I wouldn't necessarily write them off. Overall I think we would go here again if it were in-house. We had a delivery scheduled for 8:30pm. I called around 6 asking if I could call later to confirm if we could actually pick it up instead, and the guy I talked to said sure! I called back around 7:30pm to confirm we could not pick up and to proceed with the delivery, but I guess our original delivery was cancelled :( the girl I was talking to said I couldn't order delivery, and I explained I had already paid for the food and delivery fee and inquired earlier about a possible pick up but would confirm (which is what this second call was). After multiple holds, she said they could do the original delivery at 8:30pm. 8:30 rolls around and we get a call from one of the owners that he is on his way and they couldn't find any drivers this entire time. Thank goodness he stepped in! We ended up waiting for our food and received it at 9pm, but it was all clearly sitting around for awhile and barely warm. Fries were missing from the order, the corn dogs were a little soggy, mac & cheese was cold and not soft like you'd expect, and the overall lack of warmth of the food was disappointing as we spent about $250. Again, I think this place would be amazing if it were fresh and ate in-house but the late delivery and barely-warm food for what we paid for was not great :( I will say the brisket was yummy though!! Thank you to the owner for stepping in and getting our food to us, and I'll likely try them again if I'm in the area but definitely only for dine-in. read more

We stopped here on our drive from Dallas to Atlanta for dinner. We enjoyed the delicious meal-Grandchampion sampler with 3 meats and four sides for four adults. We loved the Babyback ribs that fell off the bone, brisket, and pulled pork with the creamy mac and cheese, butter toast, collard greens, potato salad, and coleslaw. I decided to go for it and order the Pitmaster's Sampler: half rack of ribs, brisket, chicken, and pulled pork. I had the cole slaw and side salad for sides. The brisket was amazing and the pork and chicken were beautifully moist. The ribs were only ok. Tender, but not much by way of taste even as they came glazed. Nice variety of sauces! The cole slaw was nice, but the side salad was obviously old--mushy tomatoes and past prime lettuce. NB: that substandard salad came with an upcharge. I had a lot of food left over.
