I thought this place was really good. In fact, it's one of the better places I have had in the town of Jackson, MS. There are fancier places that are far less approachable, sure. But this one was just right for me. I feel like you could show up after a round of golf and it would be cool. That's as long as you don't have swamp ass, LOL. Inside is well lit and airy. There are lots of windows and it's quite comfortable. Our server was great. So good in fact, I have no recollection of them or the service. That's strange. Nothing. I can't even remember if they were male or female?!?!? I do however remember my food. We started with crab claws. They were darn tasty. Nice lemon flavor to the batter and the sauces were great accompaniments. Would recommend! For dinner I chose the Prime Chile Rubbed Flank Steak. Gosh damn was it good! Perfectly cooked, seared well, and still medium rare inside! The sauce was fantastic as well and the fresh cut Parmesan fries were a stupendous addition to the dish! I loved the whole damn thing!!! The spinach was quite unique and very good. It was like crispy sautéed of something. I must have made some noises that my dinner companion had to know about because he ate a couple slices of my steak after I was done. Definitely a good place for lunch. Keeping in the theme with wanting to eat southern food while in the south, it was redfish once again. Just like yesterday's redfish, this one was different but absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of lunch options, as well as some daily lunch specials made the choice what to eat a tough one. Leaning towards what they're known for, redfish, I gave this place a try as well. This was a thick piece of redfish which included lump crab on top with a cream sauce, smothered all over it. The meal included garlic mashed potatoes, as well as string green beans. The green beans weren't super plentiful, but they were good. The mashed potatoes were a little on the cool temperature side, but they were also very good. You don't get much lump crab, but that too was good. It is a "foodie" type establishment so portions were on the smaller side but plated & presented very well. Dinner at Local 463 was amazing on many levels. To start, the staff was very attentive and went overboard to make sure all desires were met. To start ,I was impressed with the Bourbon and Rye menu. There are so many to select from. As a Bourbon snob, I had a difficult time in selecting. Solution...our waiter suggested a flight which was not on the menu. To start, we had the Fried Green Tomatoes w/Crawfish Tails. Delicious! For my entré I had the Spiced Flank Steak with Shoe-String Potatoes. Very tender and tasty! As a side I had the Blue Cheese and Green Onion Mashed Potatoes. Y-U-M! For dessert I had a slice of the Coffee Cheesecake with a nice 20-year Tawny Port. Quickly got seated and welcomed. It was not busy. I took awhile for our server to come and greet us. Drink orders were placed as well as appetizers. Wine selection was fine and the shrimp app was good. From there everything was fine, but the service was EXTREMELY slow. Our server was professional and attentive but the kitchen was excruciating slow. The red dish was excellent, but heavy on the sauce. Note for management: While there I counted a minimum of five people wearing baseball hats at dinner. This was not in the bar area. This was in the main dining area. I believe hot dogs are not served here and the bleachers were removed years ago. So not sure why so many people were wearing hats like they were attending a game. If you want to attract the right clientele that are good customers, and not annoy people who are coming for a nice dining experience, is it too much to ask to have a "no hats" policy in the restaurant ? read more

The food was amazing. Our waitress was equally amazing, the only things.. I wish I had asked for her name... she was wonderful.. she seemed to be working the bar area so maybe she is a bartender too... not sure. She was so helpful, patient, knew the menu well, and offered awesome recommendations! Everything was awesome.. I only have one reservation, on their wedge salad, it's not your typical wedge and I kinda wish I'd of realized that when I ordered it. It doesn't have the tomatoes, blue cheese dressing (but does have crumbles on top) or the red/purple onion... the bacon on it was wonderful though.. it just needed those other enhancements. That's my only complaint and it's not really a complaint considering the wedge was still wonderful. Couldn't decide between the Fried green tomatoes or another appetizer I was considering and waitress recommended the Fried Green tomatoes-as she said it was one of her favorites and she didn't steer us wrong! They were DELICIOUS!! My daughter had a burger and bc she is weird (boring) with her burger condiments, she loved it... fries were amazing & I helped her eat them. Desert was the BIG BEAR brownie AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. They had some pretty awesome sounding deserts and so next time we come... we will try them all. Overall, excellent experience & the atmosphere was very chill and more upscale. Enjoyed our visit while in town for a camp at Jackson pre. this is a small but nicely appointed place. the bar area is front and center making it a nice place to stop after work which is what we did. friends and i sat at the bar and enjoyed well made cocktails and the tuna tartar. bar service was a bit distracted but once we were able to order, again the drinks were well made. the tuna was great! fresh and flavorful it was the perfect snack to tide us over until dinner! looking forward to another visit! read more

Hi all, so I travel to Texas a lot. Gosh, virtually any Texas town I stop in I can get fabulous barbecue. I hate to leave bad reviews, but this is the worst barbecue I ever had. The brisket was cut thin and was dried out like it was from last week. It had no flavor on its own. I paid extra for premium brisket. I've had better brisket in Iowa! I also had the rib tips, another up charge item. Again, the worst rib tips I ever had. They are almost all cartridge and grit. Almost no meat. Needless to say, while looking forward to some real Texas barbecue I feel totally ripped off by the poor quality. Maybe it was an off day. But, I guess I'll wait till Texas to get some decent barbecue. This is not the place. read more

Local 463 is an upper scale restaurant and a great dinner spot. Stopped by to grab dinner at the bar. They had plenty of plates that looked delicious. A choice for everyone. From Sharables, Flatbreads, Salads, Soups, Big plates and desserts, they've got it all. I had the Spicy Thai Flatbread with a side of Spicy Grits. Wow, wow, wow! I am so happy yelp led me here. The food here is excellent. We ordered three starters; the pork belly which was so tender and the grits/polenta it was paired was cooked perfectly. Next we ordered the fried green tomatoes which were fried to perfection, only thing I would have wanted was maybe a teaspoon and a half less sauce but the taste factor was ok point. The third started was the truffle flatbread. As a person who loves Detroit style pizza, flatbreads never made sense to me but this was crystal clear. I get it now. Our server gave us excellent and we saw so much teamwork from the bussers and servers it seemed like they loved working there. On Saturday nights it is for sure a date night spot but this is a great place for friends or business trip dinner. There were a few tvs so I'm sure seeping on the night they can play the prime time game. I look forward to returning back. Definitely gave me more motivation to visit. read more

Went to Local 463 for lunch and both of us are on a diet so we ordered a house salad with salmon added on and a couple glasses of tea. We ordered the salmon medium and that is exactly what we got. The flavor of the grilled salmon was unbeatable. The lettuce was sliced and appeared to be iceberg. The salad would have been so much better with butter lettuce. The food was good but our total tab with tip for two people was $90. Too pricey for lunch! read more

This is fine dining at its best. Me and the Mrs were immediately blown away by how amazing everything was. We enjoyed everything from the appetizer all the way to the dessert. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing. While the service was absolutely amazing, our server Haley was phenomenal she did a great job explaining everything. First, we had ordered the Kung Pao shrimp appetizer and it was a great starter. I had the tuna plate dinner with the spicy grits and Chipotle sauce and it was the best tuna I've ever tasted. The Mrs had the filet and she normally never eats asparagus but after I convinced her to have it on the side she absolutely loved it. The dessert was the best part we had to bring some home for our friend to try and the ice cream was delicious. All around a great restaurant in just about every aspect, service, quality, and food were all amazing. Honestly 10 out of 10. We are definitely coming back. read more

Had the filet with Demi glacé and it was generally good but their Demi glacé definitely had MSG in it and I didn't think to ask...was sick the rest of the night. Service was good. It was mid-60s outside and warmer than the restaurant - had to go grab my fleece because it was so cold in the restaurant. I would have LOVED to give this place a 5 star but disappointed as soon as we were seated. My husband and I aren't originally from this area so all places are new to us.. we had been car shopping and decided since we are out let's try a new place. I heard someone say "definitely try 463"! We arrived to the renaissance - shopping plaza. Chick asked if we had reservations, politely said no. She takes us to the far back EMPTY room, seats us right next to the patio doors. Mind you, the weather was extremely cold due to winter weather coming through. Apparently there's an unknown dress code for this place other than "casual" dining. Jeans and pull over need to not attend to this restaurant at a shopping mall. But the lady at the bar in a shawl with yoga pants can sit at the bar with her old man who is in dad shoes and khakis... After sitting there for a few minutes, you could tell the temp outside was dropping quick. Our waitress was fine and bubbly. She didn't mention any specials or recommendations. She answered our questions we had, took the order. We both decided to go with burgers because that's the "quickest" to produce. After about 25 minutes, burgers came out, this was annoying for me being that NO ONE was in that room with us. They were delicious but we were simply freezing at that point. Mentioned this to the waitress- obviously nothing was going to happen at that point. I doubt we will be back, the menu did look pretty decent but we didn't feel like splurging money after we were sat in an empty meat cooler. read more
