Ordered the pretzel and cheese sauce. Pretzel was hot and good while the cheese sauce was a tad runny. Did not really cling to the pretzel as I would have liked. Fish and chips were very flavorful and came with a generous portion of fries. Guinness beef pot pie was flavorful and a good portion. The crust was browned nicely but still slightly under. Chicken pot pie was not as flavorful as the beef pie but others thought it tasted good. The pastry was burnt at one end and raw in the middle. Seems like made fresh but technique needs refinement. It was nice to be able to walk here from our rental. OMG the place was packed on a Saturday before 6pm. There was some sort of party group that took up half the bar/restaurant. I chose the special Winter Salad. Shrimp, goat cheese, and pomegranate seeds made it very good. Nice portion as well. Enough to eat in one sitting without having to take some home which never tastes good. Husband had the fish and chips which was a signature item. It was excellent. Lightly battered fish. The seafood pie was excellent, not too rich and not obnoxious with overloaded cheese. The sauce was very well done not just a basic overly rich sauce full of cream. Tons of seafood chunks. But the food was terrible. We had Scotch egg and sausage roll appetizers. The sausage roll was noteworthy; the Scotch egg 100% forgettable. The much anticipated Sunday Roast was miserable. We were each served a very thin, mainly fat slice of tough beef from a low-quality rib roast that was way too salty. Completely inedible. It was trash. The roasted potatoes were not roasted - they looked and had the texture of boiled potatoes, with heavy salt being the dominate taste. The carrots were lifeless, and again tasted like they had been soaked in salt. Finally, the Yorkshire pudding was visually pleasing but tasteless cardboard. It had clearly been sitting out for hours under a heat source that had calcified it into a ridiculously hard brick. Almost impossible to break off a bite, and equally difficult to chew, much less swallow. All in all, no way we can recommend this place to anyone seeking an edible meal. Maybe a stop at the bar for a Guinness. But the food was dreadful. Whoever is preparing these dishes uses way, way too much salt. The original English dishes are just awful. Parking was very easy with tons of space around the building. We were greeted by the Manager and he sat us outside per our request. The patio is lovely with lots of tables, fresh flowers and TVs. We ordered the Bavarian pretzel to start. We got it with cheese sauce and caramel. Holy crap. It was the best pretzel we've ever had!! Get both dips and mix them, you'll thank me. My son got a Reuben and ate the entire thing. He said it had lots of flavor and the french fries were mid. My other son got Philly cheese steak, it was a special, and fries. We also got onion rings. They were just ok. Wouldn't get those again. We got a Shepard pie and a chicken pot pie to share. Chicken pot pie tasted like it was made from scratch, which it likely was. The crust was flaky and buttery and crisp. The flavor was great! The Shepard pie was so authentic tasting. Mashed potatoes were scratch made, chunky and made perfectly. The flavor was so rich! I had heard good things about this restaurant but unfortunately it disappointed. Let me explain... I would have given 1 star but the staff was friendly and attentive so I gave an extra star. I ordered a special, the blackened red snapper. I should have known better than to order a special on a Sunday but I did. The mashed potatoes were good along with the asparagus. But when it came to the main dish, it was dry and overcooked. I had to struggle to cut through a normally flacky fish. I was hungry so I pushed through. My mom's food is only mashed potatoes. There's not gravy on it and they keep on messing up our order. We accidentally got the wrong order like three times until they finally gave us our order. There was 3 choices on the menu ~ Classic Fish & Chips for $15, Haddock for $21 & Cod for $21. My husband asked our waitress what the fish was in the Classic dish. IT WAS SWAI. They're literally 3 blocks from the ocean & they want to serve this garbage fish. We chose the Cod & it was so flaky and tasted so good! It came with a "sample size" cup of Mushy Peas, which were awesome, and the same size of Cole Slaw, which wasn't that good but edible. We also have a glass of Cider (1 each) which was ice cold & so good! Total bill not including tip was $76. How? Those glasses of Cider must have been expensive! If we're ever in Cocoa Beach again, we might stop in for a Boddington's & a bowl of those Mushy Peas! read more

I don't know if this is someone's authentic attempt at an English Pub or someone just trying to stand apart. I can say I've been to a few Irish pubs that did a better job at english breakfasts. I will contribute that my wife liked her Salmon Eggs Benedict with the one statement that she thought they put on too much salmon...good for them making my wife happy with an Amercian dish. Me - coffee is weak; eggs were done in too much grease, no idea what can the minuscule baked beans came from (served in a condiment tin); english sausage definitely not a banger, the English crisp their bacon (not here apparently), home fries needed to be cut further by half (size and volume) and the "rye" bread was a marble rye which is rye and pumpernickel without seeds - four slices that equate to half a loaf. Best thin on the plate - grilled tomato. Oh, keep away from the "blueberry-vanilla jelly/jam" it has the consistency and taste of a pancake syrup. Glad my wife liked it, its more important to me that she enjoys the meal. For me - meh. I will try another place possibly next weekend in my search for breakfast. The Pig & Whistle is definitely a place to revisit the next time we are in town. The atmosphere is unique and the dishes are awesome. We went for lunch service and dinner service the same day to try multiple dishes. We tried the French Onion Soup; French Dip; Jalapeño Poppers; The Lord of the Ring; The Reuben; The Black and Bleu; and the Beef Pot Pie. The Good The hamburgers were well made and delicious. They were cooked (medium/well done) to order and filled the need for something savory. The ingredients were well thought out and made the burgers just that much better. The fact that they procured marbled rye bread for the Reuben shows the level of care that went into the meals. The beef pot pie crust was so flaky and crisp. And popping the pie open led to a hot, tasty beef stew that was tender and rich and a perfect match for the flaky crust. I had a Guinness from the tap to add to the English theme to round out my meal. The decor was quirky with their English Pub theme...but cute and set the right mood. There were TVs playing some American football games and one even had a bloopers show on for anyone not interested in sports. The servers were very friendly and even remembered us like old friends when we came back for dinner service. The Bad Not much to complain about...got to try this place. The only things I would caution is that they did run out of a few menu choices towards the end of service so you may want to arrive early if you want to get something specific. And on certain days we saw a lot of foot traffic. Groups of people were waiting outside to get seating. A small English and American pub restaurant, nestled in the heart of a suburb. While we were there our server was Melissa, she was really good and a fellow lover of Disney, chatted with us about her experiences while at the parks. We were a little disappointed that the mushy peas weren't actual mushy peas, looked more like mashed peas than anything. However, the food itself, was "chef's kiss" good. The pretzel was big and had a nice baked texture. The fish and chips I was told by my family was really good. I had the sausage and chips and they both were really nice, the onions were nice, a light grill but not like onion crisps. Presently, she is a number one waitstaff, top earner in the second quarter. I arrive ready for breakfast but discover a lunch and dinner menu is at hand. Thankfully, Tamara eagerly went to bat for me, allowing me to order a lunch item as well. Cheesy grits with a runny egg: absolutely exciting! The key ingredient to producing great grits is most certainly either heavy cream, or cheese. The pancakes offered the perfect texture, an exceptional balance and careful blend, meeting at the crossroads wherein fluffy meets tasty. I am beyond happy with the result. I'll further submit that the runny egg was an awesome finale to the breakfast meal. The banger burger (bangers and mash) is comprised of English sausage, mash potatoes, smothered in gravy and topped with grilled onions and a big juicy burger, cooked medium rare, in between. We found this busy little spot when driving from Daytona Beach back to South Florida. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were surprised how full it was at about 2pm. There is full bar in the center of the establishment and there seemed to be many locals gathered around the bar drinking. The bartender greeted us from behind the bar and told us to seat ourselves. We found an empty table and started looking over the menu. The menu had a brief explanation of where the name "Pig and Whustle" came from, and they had a lot of pub food and comfort foods to choose from. A waitress passed us by and she looked really busy; she told us she'd be with us soon. It wasn't too long of a wait before she brought us some waters and took our orders. I ordered the "gourmet grilled cheese" which was made with 4 kinds of cheeses and bacon and tomato. It was very tasty with a melty cheese center. It was warm; but not really hot. It also came with fries which were very good. My husband ordered the fried fish sandwich. It was a large crispy piece of fish, way bigger than the bun, and he said it was really good. He also thought the fries were really yummy. We like to try different and out-of-the-way places when we travel and this place didn't disappoint. The French onion soup was the reason we came in but it was so horribly salty that neither I nor my husband could eat it. When we complained and tried to send it back we were told "that's how they make it" and reused to refund it. Would only allow us to substitute it for another soup of which there was only one - fish chowder that I don't eat. Will not go back ever! read more

Though the very slow service made me change my review to a 4 star. It too 20 minutes to see the server after we sat down. (Open seating-seat yourself) She kept forgetting to check on us and we needed refills. That aside... The food was very good and very plentiful. My SIL and I both had chicken fried steak breakfast. Yum My husband had the 3 egg breakfast, they forgot the bacon, and his over easy eggs were over hard. My friend had the French toast chefs kiss. Our friend had the bomb burrito. I highly recommend this restaurant if it's chilly outside and you are looking for some warm comfort food. We ordered a Shepard pie, the fisherman pie, the meat pie, and the pork grinds. The Shepard pie was rich and just the right ratio of mash potato topping to beefy under layer. The fisherman pie was chunky and creamy. Every bite had some shrimp or haddock. The portion was large. The meat pie was on the smaller side but equally delicious. For $8 it is hard to beat. I also really enjoyed the meat pie sides - mushy peas and mashed potato with gravy. Cocoa Beach has so much to offer and this place is truly a gem! Nestled in the heart of this charming little beach town is the best British pub I've had the pleasure of trying. You are welcomed with a very charming patio that is kept warm by heaters and fires before making your entrance through the front. The staff knows what they are doing! Which is a refreshing thing, and it's very clear this place gets busy and they still pull it off beautifully. Virginia was my waitress and she was attentive, kind and very helpful. There was an AMAZING singer there the night I went who had a lovely voice that wasn't too loud or intrusive. I am not usually one for live music as it more often than not, drowns out everything else but not the case here! I would love to see her perform again. I started with a dirty martini (not pictured) the hand stuffed blue cheese olives were delish! I could have eaten 20 but needed to leave room for food. Appetizer was the French onion soup. I get it most places but never have I had one on this level before! It was sooo cheesy with the perfect bake and cheese pull. Flavorful broth and caramelized onions. This soup is a MUST TRY! My dinner was the classic fish and chips. Usually a hit or miss other places but being the staple of British food in most people eyes, I had to get it! The fish was piping hot with the most delicate, crisp batter! It was flaky with tender meat and a lovely assortment of sauces and sides that came with it and more on the table.
