Lemme just say we were 'blown away' by the talent! We happened to go there on a Monday night after doing some shopping in North Myrtle & wanted a relaxing atmosphere where we could eat something good & hopefully hear some good live music. As mentioned, we were new to the area ... & lemme just say ... Leroy Harper & his All Stars are a phenomenal music experience! Mr Harper is a genius & a legacy in his own right & how he attracts some of the best musicians around remains a mystery to me. You really need to experience this in order to understand what I mean! Hats off to the Tavern owner/management/staff members pretty much for the same reason! The food? We like seafood but didn't know anything about the 'Calabash' style & now we love as well! The staff members were friendly, welcoming, eager to accommodate ... but please just be aware the place gets crowded at times, understandably so, cuz it's a great place to experience. It should also be noted that folks come from pretty far away, mostly for the music I think? We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Tavern as our local hangout

Upon looking we can automatically tell the Mac & Cheese was a joke literally only noddles and sprinkle cheese. Green beans has Zero Salt and Mash Potatoes were from a box, however the gravy was okay. When we told the waitress she had messed up and put in 3 turkey wings instead of 2, she didn't seem to customer service oriented. I ordered 3 wing dinner, potato salad and side salad. The potato salad eggs taste rubbery as if this is a prepackage potato salad. The side salad came towards the end of everyone getting their meal with no dressing which I needed up boxing up. My two daughters ordered smash burgers slidersand these are definitely not "smashed" but basic sliders. My kids are them with no complaints but wouldn't consider smashed. However my daughter also got Mac & Cheese that we kindly declined being that our other party has already received their and was disliked. My other friend chicken wings never came as of yet so we asked the waiter again about the wings and after 10 min the showed up and they were bleeding!! Blood coming from the drum and wing connection! She immediately sent it back and offered to pay for the fries. My other daughter food finally came and DO NOT ORDER the Salisbury Steak!!! My daughter said "mom I am so hungry I don't care" (we had been school shopping all day). The Salisbury Steak looked to be 2 frozen hamburger patties with sauté onions that was grilled. I should have known it would be something when she told me they were waiting for the grill, I questioned..the grill? Salisbury Steak is covered in gravy and soft like a meatloaf or hamburger patty. FALSE I would not recommend this place to anyone except for the Oyster Rockefeller.

Management blames the computer system as if they don't have any control. Here's an example from last night: We had a $10 gift certificate. We were told to present it once we received our check. Our entire bill, including all food, drinks, taxes and charge for using a credit card totaled $67.02. I gave our waitress the gift certificate ($10) and our credit card. Our credit card was charged $58.73. I immediately spoke with the manager. She said that's the way the computer system works, but that she would give me the $1.50 out of her own tips. Of course, I didn't take her tip money, but this sort of story is typical of this establishment. Our group visits this restaurant on a regular basis and this is the same sort of story over and over again. They overcharge often enough to make one wonder, but they've got a good location and great kitchen staff, so everyone tends not sweat the small amounts of money they "steal" from their customers. The management is either incompetent or downright unethical--don't know which. If you can deal with that aspect, the rest of the experience there is good.
