This bar isn't for everyone. It is definitely a no hold barred all American style kind of place. They used to have a Trump flag, my dad said they didn't have it this year but I don't know because I am blind. This is the first bar I ever went to and it is my absolute favorite. The crowd is amazingly welcoming, it's literally right on the beach. In fact some of the seating is on the beach itself. The food is really good, especially for bar food and the waitresses are the best in Cherry Grove. Love Murphy's there will never be another like it. read more

Wouldn't give this place a dime. Walked through the door and the "bouncer" if you can call him that asked for ID, with a child sitting next to me at a table with his family. when I told him I couldn't produce the ID because it was at my ABNB, he promptly said I could not be on the premises. I really enjoy my experience, but they were extremely understaffed. I got the mahi tacos and it was really good with the hurricane sauce, but it took very long for the tables around me to get their food. What a nice unexpected delight of a place! Total hole in the wall place in a good way!! Stopped in for lunch and were happily surprised with delish food! Honestly, one of the best local bar experiences I've had in a long time. My family and I meet up for a reunion once a year nearby.. I have intermittently been tossing a few back all day. I was out for a beach walk and stopped by for a beer or two. Ended up drinking six! It takes a really, really good bartender to know when bring another drink without asking. I finished one beer, the bartender (Rowland) popped another one open and slammed it down before it could ask. It was a good move. I just came for a beer and didn't expect to talk to anybody, I just wanted to come for a couple of beers and go to bed. I ended up staying for a couple hours and having five or six beers. I was shooting the shit with local patrons and had a great time. I'm only here once a year and will definitely visit again when I come back next year. Great local bar.. I'm not much of a political guy, personally, I think both parties are full of shit and are often corrupt, including Trump. i'm not sure why they have a Trump flag outside, but whatever. fantastic experience. We have gone three times, twice our server was Mike and once was Dakota. All three times we had excellent service and a really great time just chatting. Trying to park was a nightmare, walk inside to a very non impressive dive bar with a party of 7 so we push two tables together to accommodate and the waitress was the most rude waitress I've ever encountered. The fries and homemade chips at this place are AMAZING! The wings were pretty good as well, and our waitress was very kind and competent. We ate out on the deck and I was happy that we did after I stepped inside to use the restroom. The place didn't seem the cleanest but it was obviously a dive bar so I wasn't too perturbed. Used to be a great place when it was Harold's. It's gone downhill fast for someone that has morals. The waitresses are barely dressed and are a huge distraction to men that are taking their wives there for a meal or just drinks. Yes, the place has been remodeled, but we don't want to see all the skin and tattoos from our servers. Keep it to yourself. Stay clear of this place. Charged twice for drinks. Paid cash and friends credit card was charged. She confronted them and they wanted to physically remove her. In addition after that, we went out back and sometime within the hour our other friend was roofied. A grown man, throwing up in the parking lot in his car it was horrible. I have never been here before. We were just enjoying a day a the beach thinking this was a nice local pub. We were home by 9:15pm. We had to take care of a grown man 45 years old due to this. Was wanting to go next door originally but they had a two hour wait. Went in here with no expectations. The wings were hands down the best around and the fried pickles were awesome. My husband had the all American cheeseburger and it was also really good. The place was not the nicest on the inside but had a good atmosphere outside. The ONLY reason this gets 2 stars is because the mahi tacos were decent and the 2 beers we had were cold. We sat at the bar and order s a beer. On Red Stripe and one Sierra Nevada. Both good. Ordered mahi tacos , good. Ordered fish fingers said to be grouper, minimally adequate and rubbery. Huge plate of fries decently seasoned. Both had a nice 'hurricane sauce' but there was very little zip to it. The bartender grabbed one of our beers and spun it around, who knows why. Said nothing and walked away. He came back and grabbed the napkins and slammed them down in front of us along with the salt and pepper, laughs and walks away. Ok, well, they were in an adequate spot not taking up bar space but whatever. As we ate our food we watched the 40+ crowd drinking away and away and away. Both indoors and out. The ceiling was dripping into a bucket on the bar. We were lucky enough to sit next to the smelliest guy on earth, ugh. Who was wearing a Murphy's shirt which read 'F*** off, we are full' displayed inside the outline of the US. Ugh. Had we have seen this prior to ordering our food we would have left but at this point we were on the hook for what we ordered. I did not recommend going here. One of the bartenders told us to 'tell everyone we know' about them which is what I am doing. I can't make this stuff up people. I like the guy's review about one month ago speaking to the way he was singled out for being homosexual. His review does this place justice. He is not overstating or embellishing. Plain and simple. It's a bar and they take care of their friends first. I have had good service sitting inside at the bar for dinner by myself. Good maui sandwich. Took my family to the deck last week and it took over an hour to get a late lunch. Staff was slow to assist or provide refills. Even when my son went over for refill they told him they would come by soon. I had to go get our refills myself. Waitress messed the order up on my son's sandwich and even blamed him. (Yes I left a reduced tip and I've been tipping 20% since places are back open). Again good little dive bar, but take care of everyone. read more
