Classic in Cherry Grove. Good old dive bar (but really nice menu) and 2nd story deck. Live music, good beer and wine...liquor drinks.

BLT with Avocado and Bacon Jam. Loved it.

Apparently, "Duck Dive" is a thing in surfing, hence the name "Duck Dive Bar." But with that in mind, it is none the less a "dive bar. A good dive bar for that matter. They serve up some delicious standards and even have some creative specials. I had a BLT with Avocado and Bacon Jam. I absolutely loved it. My wife had a burger which was huge and they make it like a Smashburger. As for beer, they don't have anything on tap but they do provide beer koozies to keep the bottles and cans cold. There is an outside deck with plenty of seating. Definitely a cool dive bar.

They are officially now "topless". Dress appropriately. "Suggestion" - come on Monday's for karaoke.

Locals welcomed us in

Fun place full of locals, who were happy to make an out of towner feel welcome. My wife and I were looking for a place with live music and found Duck's dive. We walked up the steps to find a very small deck and even smaller inside bar area. It was very crowded, but this is when the locals helped us out by freeing up a table for us to sit out. It didn't stop there when a lady said what are you drinking again just a local who was being helpful. We enjoyed the grove bowls, one with rice, the other with rice. Both with ahi tuna. Very surprising coming from a bar kitchen, but would highly recommend. The music wasn't to our taste, but the evening was still good because of the food, drinks and friendly locals. If your in Myrtle Beach and looking for a local place give Ducks a try.

Another surprise party for Lisa

Rude service. Told waitress that the AC vent was leaking on me and my food and she said "that's how ac vents work, it's called condensation"

What a fun place to hang out! A true dive bar with great food and service. It's a small spot, so if you want a table get there early.

Local hangout with live music on some evenings. Canned and bottled beer only, no drafts. Wings are worth a try.

I love a good Irish pub and this is ON THE WATER so I knew this was going to be good. We got here…read moreon a Friday evening about 6:30 and it wasn't packed yet. We noticed there was live music outside which I wasn't thrilled about but I wanted to sit by the ocean. We were seated very quickly and our sweet waitress immediately went to get our drinks. My husband and I opted to share the fish and chips and I got a cup of clam chowder and he got a bowl. I also got a blackberry bourbon bramble. The good...the mixed drink was excellent! The fish on the fish and chips was seriously one of the best things we had this trip. The not so good...the fries were soggy. The clam chowder was room temperature and SALTY. The waitress did warm it up when asked but I always hate sending stuff back to the kitchen but it seemed much better when it came back. The live music started at 7pm and let me tell you...that musician was so talented! It wasn't too loud and it was fun to listen to. Overall...The drinks and fish were GREAT. The view was ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR. The other things that I found MEH, could have just been an off night. Our waitress was lovely and the prices were decent. I would try this place again.

The interior has a classic Irish-American feel, complete with a "Sláinte" sign, dartboards, pool tables, and plenty of green decor. However, the real highlight is the massive oceanfront deck--it's the perfect spot to grab a drink, look past the palm trees, and watch the waves. It's a fantastic blend of a traditional pub atmosphere with an unbeatable beach view! They also have a solid happy hour menu, quality Guinness, extensive whisky selection and serviceable bar food. To make matters better, the bartender was friendly and professional.

We found a new favorite!!! The food was amazing!! For an appetizer we shared the week's special,…read moregator bites, super yummy! My hubby had the fish of the day special which was delicious! It consisted of 2 deep fried soft shell crabs, 3 deep fried jumbo (and yes, they were actually jumbo) shrimp on top of a bed of various deep fried vegetables. Although the entire dish was deep-fried, it didn't feel heavy or greasy. And the batter chef Bo made mad it all sooooo flavorful! I ordered the granddaddy's grilled cheese. It was a very different take on grilled cheese, but also absolutely delightful!! I believe you can't go wrong with bacon and fig jam on sourdough bread. And for my side, I wanted something a little different so I ordered the sweet potato grits. Do yourself a favor and try them! They are rich and creamy and sweet but not too sweet... Perfect! As delicious as all that was, the showstopper was dessert. We had the lemon blueberry cake. There are not enough words to say how delicious this was! Dense, sweet, but also tar from the fresh lemon with fresh blueberries baked in with a perfect layer of cream cheese icing. I wanted to order another one just to take home. And if the food wasn't enough to keep us coming back. Our service was absolutely amazing. Rachel was our server and she was a rockstar!!! She knew the menu very well! She made amazing recommendations and was attentive and friendly and all-around wonderful! As an added bonus, we were seated in the perfect corner booth for date night. And they had one of their regular live music performers there which added just the right touch. We can't wait to go back!

Jan. 2026 My wife…read moreand I hadn't been back to 44 & King in a few years. With so many good restaurants in the area, we usually try new places, but before heading home we decided it was time to stop in again for dinner. As usual, we try to go during happy hour when prices are a bit better, and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly she greeted us right away, handed us menus, and took our drink order. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit. My wife ordered a Coke, and I had an Old Fashioned. For food, my wife chose the Fried Crab Claws with fries, and I ordered the French Onion Soup along with the Pork Nachos from the happy hour menu. While we were waiting, the bartender asked where we were from. We told her Southern Maryland, and when I said Huntingtown, she immediately said, "That's where I'm from." That alone surprised us not many people even know where Huntingtown is. When we mentioned the road we live on, she said, "That's the road I turn on to my parents' house." This was the first time we've ever met a bartender or server over 400 miles from home who lived that close to us. Small world. Our food came out and my wife really enjoyed her crab claws -- I tried one and they were very good. My French onion soup had a nice, deep beef flavor and was very tasty, but after a few bites there was a heavy pepper bite that came through. It was still good, but I had to switch over and eat some of my nachos, which were also good, though different from how I remembered them. I think the BBQ sauce changed the flavor, and the lettuce (which I usually prefer without) was something I should have asked to leave off. I asked my wife to try the soup and mentioned the pepper and that it might be a little spicy. She agreed it was good but said it would be better if it wasn't so peppery. A little later, the chef came out and introduced himself, Bo. He asked how everything was going. I told him everything was good overall but mentioned the heavy pepper bite in the onion soup and asked if that was normal. He said it shouldn't be that strong and that it needed to be toned back. Bo then asked if we had ever tried Mama's Soup, the tomato vegetable soup on the menu. We hadn't, and he asked if we'd like to try it. Not long after, he brought us another bowl and said, "This is Mama's soup give it a try." It was a vegetable soup with hamburger and a tomato base, and it was so good. When he came back, he explained it was his own version of his mother's soup. We told him it would go perfectly with a gooey grilled cheese, and he laughed and said they actually have one on the menu. It was really nice of Chef Bo to come out, check on us, listened and know something wasn't quite right, and it's being taken care of. That kind of interaction truly makes dining out a better experience. It makes the place feel welcoming, like they genuinely want you there. Yes, we will return -- and we were told that Mama's soup is always on the menu.
