What a great Happy Hour experience! After arriving in Cherry Grove, I was dying for some fried seafood and a cold beer. This dive bar was within walking distance of my hotel, and looked very unassuming with its tarp covered second floor deck and blaring outdoor music. My hubs and I popped in and found a DJ setting up for an imminent music bingo game! It was early- about 4:30pm. We immediately made ourselves comfortable on the deck space and ordered our first beers and a basket of fries, shrimp and hush puppies to enjoy the music. Within 10 minutes, folks started pouring into the place! The music, fried food and cold beer was fantastic, and the service was too! The crowd was obviously all locals, but we were welcomed just the same. This was a great way to start our vacation! read more

Apparently, "Duck Dive" is a thing in surfing, hence the name "Duck Dive Bar." But with that in mind, it is none the less a "dive bar. A good dive bar for that matter. They serve up some delicious standards and even have some creative specials. I had a BLT with Avocado and Bacon Jam. I absolutely loved it. My wife had a burger which was huge and they make it like a Smashburger. As for beer, they don't have anything on tap but they do provide beer koozies to keep the bottles and cans cold. There is an outside deck with plenty of seating. Definitely a cool dive bar. read more

Came on a Thursday night at 515pm. Sign says "seat yourself" yet 3 tables outside have names written on paper taped on them. This bar does not take reservations mind you. We sat at the bar and inquired about the "reserved" signs. The response was " the band is bringing people with him". In the meantime, people have come into the bar and wanted to sit---- no seats.. an hour later, the tables outside are still empty. Poor business decisions. Regulars are important but so are locals and visitors. Get with the times Duck Dive. Upping my star rating to 4. We were simply annoyed with the seat saving but all else was good. read more

Fun place full of locals, who were happy to make an out of towner feel welcome. My wife and I were looking for a place with live music and found Duck's dive. We walked up the steps to find a very small deck and even smaller inside bar area. It was very crowded, but this is when the locals helped us out by freeing up a table for us to sit out. It didn't stop there when a lady said what are you drinking again just a local who was being helpful. We enjoyed the grove bowls, one with rice, the other with rice. Both with ahi tuna. Very surprising coming from a bar kitchen, but would highly recommend. The music wasn't to our taste, but the evening was still good because of the food, drinks and friendly locals. My husband got a Chicken Bowl (what they are "known" for is their bowls) and it was a nice portion size and sooo good. I split the burger with a friend and it was so juicy and one is the best burgers I've had. Got the wings to go for the kids - nice size and good sauce. Overall worth the stop - especially on a rainy day where you want to Belly up and listen to some live entertainment. 4/5 stars bc I thought the cleanliness could have been a little better. Great local spot with good food . The staff and owner were friendly and show appreciation. The place is very small and you have to go up a flight of stairs but the food is worth the climb. Parking is basically across the street . The food was fresh and made with expertise and care. I had a burger and fries and it was very good. The burger was fresh and cooked to order on a nice artisan bun with real iceberg lettuce that was crisp along with tomatoes. The fries were cooked perfectly and not greasy with a real potato taste. It would be easy to assume it's a dive with bar food , but the food is a level above your routine bar food. The attentive staff is also a notch above your usual beach bars. I am definitely going back to try their bowls which looked good and you can get with rice or greens. While it is small, it is clean and very refreshing to go to a casual place that takes pride in their business. read more

We came to Myrtle Beach for our anniversary and stumbled across this place. Needless to say, it became our 'hangout' for the rest of the week! Small bar but filled with nothing but Love!! Our bartender, Morgan, was simply The Best! Watch out for 'the buckets' - they will sneak up on you! The food was Always spot on!! The locals always treated us with kindness and always had a story to tell. Karaoke night was a blast as well. Its a small place, but they somehow made sure everyone was seated and served with a smile. We hated to leave - but because of this place, we will always have a wild story to tell .
