We arrived at 5 PM on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with tasteful Christmas music in the background. The Pines is a converted old mansion. It has a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The food was all delicious and the portions were just right. You could easily split a salad or dessert. We were most impressed by the friendly wait staff. They were so accommodating and friendly. We will be going back.

The Pines was a delicious restaurant. I ate their gnocchi and it was amazing. It truly melts in your mouth. They make the dough fresh from scratch. This is the best gnocchi I've ever had. The baked Brie was a delicious appetizer that I really enjoyed. It had a nice smoky flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very romantic and high-end. Our server was very attentive. The only downside to this restaurant is they only have two restrooms and I'm not a fan of the gravel parking lot.

We had a great experience here! The service was excellent, and Mike (our server) was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious across the board. My friends ordered the steak, and even as someone who is very picky, I was impressed. I ordered the Thai Coconut Halibut. It was great, but it could have used more sauce. I would get the Filet and Shrimp next time. We also shared the Parmesan Bread (amazing) & Pesto Escargot (good). The patio is super cute, but it was too cold to enjoy this time. I will definitely be back in the summer to sit outside! One of my friends ordered the Halibut special and did not enjoy it. The website has an old menu on it so I was a little disappointed when some of the items I saw on the website were not on the current menu. The website also does not have an alcohol menu on it so I wasn't sure if they had it. Update: they do.

Great food. Our server (Mike) was very knowledgeable about all menu items.... However. In out dining area the main lighting was pulled from the cielingAND NOT GROUNDED!!!! If not for the unsafe light it would be a 4.5.

Small menu, that's how these fancy places are. We ordered the pasta, mediterranean dip, chicken piccata, Cesar salad. It was good but you don't ever feel fully full from a place like this. Drinks were amazing! Service is kinda awkward because they're trying so hard to be chic. Nice place to try and get dressed up for!

Our table of 3 opted for a few shareable and soup and it did not disappoint. We left full and packed leftovers ! BlackBerry mocktail was refreshing and a great option Cauliflower app (5/5) a huge portion, great crunch and perfect cauliflower to batter ratio. It was decently spicy without being overpowering and a fantastic very shareable option. We had 3 adults and still had about half left. Ginger carrot soup (4/5) was yummy but leaned a bit more pumpkin vine than carrot. Gnocchi starter (3/5) great consistency, but a bit too oily at least mine was and there wasn't much taste unless you snagged a bit of the meat with it Chicken lollipops (5/5) great taste and anther substantial share option.

They have fallen into the trap of "let's offer a variety of things to appeal to everyone" which naturally turns into, not doing anything well because the kitchen staff is trying to do too many things. They have everything from nachos, Enchiladas, fish & chips, steaks, pasta, flatbread, fish, salads and a mish-mash of appetizers. I ordered the "blackened salmon". It was. It blackened but lightly seasoned and pan fried and literally downing in butter. The mashed potato it came with were not creamed potatoes but had so much butter, that much can't be eaten as all the butter in the dish is so overwhelming. Other At my table got prime rib and pastas. They don't really say much about them after they got them, which isn't a great sign. The ambiance was probably nice at one point, but the place really needs a remodel. My advice is to narrow down the menu so the kitchen can focus on doing a fixed number of items really well. Then maybe have a rotating weekly or monthly special if you want to keep the menu fresh. Too many things means nothing is done well. If they update the menu in this way I would try them again, otherwise I have no reason to return based on this experience.

My family stayed down the street at the HGI in Sandy for 5 nights for my son's soccer tournament and we visited Slackwater 3 times. Pro tip: join the waitlist on Yelp! Even during the week, the wait was 30+ mins each time. Food was great. We tried a lot of different pizzas - we got the Chicken Bro-Do, Hot Honey DP, Tikka Masala, Taco Camarones and Margherita. The airy artisan crust is the same on all pizzas and is delicious. I would recommend them all outside of the Camarones which felt a bit underwhelming as there was very little shrimp and flavor was flat. The Citrus Morita dry rub wings are incredible. We ordered these every night. The Morita chile sauce I would throw on everything. Super fresh and flavorful. It had the right amount of heat . The breadsticks are really good. Same bread that they use for the pizza and stuffed with a ton of cheese. Marinara sauce that comes with it is top notch. The Diablo sticks are spicy just to be spicy. The sauce isn't good. We switched to regular marinara. Would recommend staying away from these. Service is great. Everyone is very attentive. The staff definitely give off a chill energy but are focused, alert and friendly. This place is a must if you're in the area. Hope we can make it back someday.

My one complaint is that we made our reservation for 6:15, but at 5:55, I received a text that my table was ready and would only be held for 10 minutes. That means our table would be given away if we didn't arrive 10 minutes BEFORE our reservation time. The pizza is fantastic. Which I kept saying to my party through bites of pizza. It is the crust that makes this pizza. It is a little sweet but not in a dessert way. It has the perfect chewy bite. I was impressed. I never eat pizza crust, not ever, but it was good enough that my dogs didn't get their usual crust treat. We tried 4 different pizzas and I would recommend any of them.

There weren't many people here at first but now there's a vibe and Norte Dame just ran a long Tad run and the crowd erupted with cheers. But let me get to the important part. This food is amazing! I mean it in the true sense of the word. Outstanding job kitchen. I had fish and chips. Bite sized nuggets of fresh, never frozen Cod. This is the best fish and chips I've had in Utah. Come see for yourself. The chips are in house made potato chips and that fry sauce is not your typical recipe. I'd drink this as a shake. Don't judge me but I had an order of smoked wings with Thai Chili sauce and the other half with spicy BBQ... blue cheese dip with fresh carrots and celery. Delicious food! Wow! The restaurant is beautiful with fancy light up menus which is needed because it's pretty dark inside. I ordered the beef ribs and my husband ordered the picanha. Both came out extremely tough and chewy. My daughter had to spit out her bite because she got tired of chewing so we had to cut each piece into 1/2 cm pieces for it to be palatable. I've been to Brazilian steak houses before and beef ribs are usually the most tender and flavorful especially when there is bone. The server did say it was going to on the chewy side but I didn't think he was serious. Like why would you make meat intentionally chewy? For a $50 dish that came with no sides and worse than what we've made at home it's pretty disappointing. We also ordered a side of the grilled veggies which had some veggies that were so bitter and others that were undercooked and no seasoning. The purple yams were decent and the coquettes but again the pricing for each was exorbitant. Also because they have a somewhat open kitchen style concept the dining room got extremely hot and we were just dying to get out quickly. For two entrees, two sides, one app, a bottle of water and glass of wine a bill of $225 was not worth it. Sadly not a great experience.
