My boyfriend and I came here for an early Valentine's Day dinner. I had red pepper cream gnocchi and added chicken. Honestly, the best gnocchi I have had! My boyfriend had the special filet and it came with a delicious pesto like sauce with mashed potatoes with asparagus. The indoor area with trees and high ceilings was really nice. Then, we had the chocolate tower cake for dessert and somehow managed to polish off the entire gigantic slice! The staff was all eager to please and the service was amazing. Would come here again! The chef knew what they were doing!! Loved it! (My only critique is that the electrical wires need to be hidden and put away more neatly in the open cooking area. I'd driven by this place for years and finally decided to give it a try. The building itself is huge, with very high ceilings, and the interior is really nice--definitely makes a strong first impression. The food was good, but not great. Nothing to complain about at all, it just didn't stand out compared to some of the better Italian spots I've had in Utah. The menu was also a bit smaller than I expected. What a lovely lunch ! Our family of 7 decided to come here for lunch. I ordered steak, pork chop, chicken, salmon, a pizza, 2 salads, 2 pastas and 3 apps for all to share. Foods came out quickly and were all delicious and beautiful! Every one loved it all. Service was great and flawless. It's great too with a big parking lot. Oh this was so good!! The service was great (especially for a larger group, we had 9). Our server, Micaela, was attentive and knowledgable! The food was amazing and had a lot of options for your more picky eaters. The house made pasta was a huge highlight for me. I had the short rib, which was more pesto-y than expected. We sat on the right side of the restaurant near the kitchen. I was on the end and I had my chair hit/kicked by various employees maybe 10 times over an hour and a half dinner. I was near a fake plant which could have been moved closer to me so I wasn't hit so often. That's my reason for a 4 star review. read more

This is a charming restaurant with delicious food and unbelievably affordable prices. I believe it has the best calamari with shrimp in Utah. The bolognese with fresh pappardelle was cooked to perfection. The beef and pork sauce was slow simmered and topped with creamy burrata. The grilled salmon risotto did not disappoint. The roasted Brussels sprouts were an unexpected and delightful addition to the Parmesan risotto. The portions were so ample that we had no room for dessert. We cannot wait to go back. read more

Excellent Valentine's Day dinner. We made reservations and we were seated immediately. It's beautiful inside with the trees lit. Staff was friendly and mostly attentive. The wait for our food was extended due to a 'computer issue'. We were offered a free salad to have something while we waited. We shared the salad and food came fairly quickly after that. We got the Valentine's Day specials. My husband got the filet which was cooked to perfection and was so delicious. I got the fettuccine with shrimp and lobster and it was amazing. And the tiramisu for dessert was perfect. We will definitely go back again for a special occasion when Italian is what we are craving. I took one star off because although we were offered the salad for free, they put it on the check. We were here last month for my sister-in-law's birthday! We got the bruschetta for starters, and for my entree I ordered the chicken parmesan with the herbed pasta. The bruschetta was unusual and tangy (never had pork or goat cheese on a bruschetta before), and I liked it pretty well, although the strong flavor of the goat cheese prevented me from eating a second piece. And I thought my chicken parmesan was just delicious--the mild pasta is really a great choice with the strong flavors of the red sauce. The restaurant itself is fine. It channels La Jolla Groves a bit with the lit trees, but otherwise it doesn't have outstanding ambience or service. And while the food was great, there were no standouts that I crave to try again. Guys food was great but the steaks where abhorrent. So much spit back bristle and toughness we both spat back about 20% of the steak. Mine wasn't truly medium rare more like medium well. In the end it headed home to the dog (see picture). First and last visit. Please get higher quality steaks for the price. Roadkill might have less tougher meat. read more

Bread service can completely hook you on a restaurant, but when your first taste of food is very stale, very cold bread without any dipping oil, etc., it just leaves you feeling very "meh" about a place. A lovely bread service is enough to bring you back time and time again, but every time I've been to Toscana, I've been underwhelmed with their bread. I would prefer they not even serve bread than to serve bread that was clearly made many days before, and further, to not provide oil/balsamic, to at least soften it a bit, just seems so unenthusiastic for an Italian restaurant. read more

I have eaten at Toscano numerous times and rarely disappointed. Steak salad is consistently delicious, I also love the chicken parm. Gnocchi is almost always gummy, so I avoid it. The menu is big enough to let people have choices but not so big they can't do most everything well. Service is good, the seating is good. The parking situation can be weird, but there are always spots. My only disappointment last night was the gelato machine was broken so I didn't get my preferred after dinner treat. Toscano has been one of my families favorites for a good Italian place, especially for celebrations. We went here for my college graduation and just recently to celebrate Easter or 4/20 (whatever you're into haha.....jk) but anyways, it was once again delicious! I tried the carbonara pasta as a recommendation from my mom since she loved it last time. So good! Comes with an egg on top. We also started with the calamari and the bread dipped in oil and vinegar. My boyfriend and brother got pizzas and enjoyed them. Food was great!! They have gelato that looks good, but we're always too full after to try any. One star for the non Italian dessert, beautiful lights and ambience. Food is absolutely horrendous. A complete insult to Italian cuisine. Server also didn't fill up our waters or take away dirty dishes until asked. We ordered bruschetta, potato soup, wedge salad, carbonara, and bolognese. Bruschetta was not toasted and very soggy from the sauce, wedge salad had cucumbers in it instead of onions and the pasta noodles were at least a couple days old. Instead of pancetta with eggs and Pecorino Romano , the carbonara had a raw egg, garlic and bacon crumbs sprinkled on top. The bolognese had hard cold pasta noodles, the base is not the traditional celery, carrot, tomatoes , and beef but cream with garlic and beef... Seeing how bad the food was, my husband decided to opt out of dessert which was a huge mistake, because the lemon leche cake was kinda really good. Not coming back though. read more

My mom, daughter and myself had a girls day. We decided to go to Toscano for an early dinner. I ordered a crab dip a grilled salmon salad as well as a cheese ravioli, my mom chose a sausage veggie pizza. They served Pepsi products and options of different juices and flavored lemonades. Minute Maid base with your choose of fruit syrup, we were surprised with a small bowl of the soup to share. Which was a orzo chicken soup, baby girl loved it as much as me and mom. While we waited to give our order Dusty brought us some focaccia bread. So warm and soft but I think a pad of butter would've of made it the bees knees! They did have olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table, which we used to dip our bread in. The crab dip took a little long due to our server, Dusty, said the bread seemed a little "overdone" and had them toast up a new batch, we appreciated that. It came out and it was still a little toasted but we ate the WHOLE thing! We asked them to bring our entrees out at the same time so we can enjoy everything since we were sharing. The pizza looked phenomenal and the ravioli was delicious. I did like that you could chose your sauce for any of the pasta dishes. I think th pizza could've used more sausage but still did not disappoint! The crust was crustin'. Bb girl loved the red pepper sauce even ate a ravioli! The grilled salmon salad was big enough to share, and we did, but good enough to eat all by myself! I would've like More dressing though. I didn't ask since I enjoyed it regardless. They brought us small sample size of blood orange gelato I would've eaten all too myself but I had to share, it tastes like summer! As well as a cinnamon gelato that tasted like a Cinnabon! The ambiance was natural light and low warm lighting with little fairy lights inside the trees. That they have inside, they also have an outdoor patio space that looks perfect for summer brunches. They also have a specials menu that changes. This place had its short comings but nothing that you wouldn't expect at your own families house. My sister recommended this place, she's been twice and has liked everything she's tried so far. It was expensive, but we don't mind treating ourselves on date night every once in a while. The service from Dusty was amazing. We would honestly go back just for him. I didn't get a picture of the brie, garlic and honey appetizer, but it was delicious. We would definitely order it again. The atmosphere is nice and calming. My husband ordered the bolognese and we both thought that was the best thing we ordered! I got the chicken piccata and liked it. We went to Toscano in Draper for a New Year's Eve dinner with a group of eight people, and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had in my life. From the moment we were seated, the service was rude, dismissive, and shockingly inattentive. The server barely checked on us, showed no urgency, no warmth, and no basic hospitality. It genuinely felt like he knew that because we were a large group, the automatic 18 percent gratuity meant he would get tipped no matter what, so he simply did not care. That practice alone feels unfair when paired with service this bad, because it removes any accountability for effort or professionalism. The food was just as disappointing. My mom ordered the Idaho trout, and it was completely tasteless. It was hands down the worst fish she has ever eaten. She took a couple of bites and could not finish it, and it completely ruined her New Year's Eve dinner. Several of us ordered chicken dishes, including chicken marsala, and they were all bland, lifeless, and poorly executed. No seasoning, no depth, no flavor. At best, the rest of the food was mediocre, and that is being generous. This restaurant is not cheap, which makes the experience even more unacceptable. When you are paying premium prices, you expect at least competent service and edible food. We got neither. The server was easily the worst I have ever encountered, and that says a lot. We are people who love food and enjoy dining out, and we are not difficult customers. We do not expect perfection, but we do expect basic standards to be met. What makes this especially frustrating is that the space itself is beautiful. The ambiance and vibe are lovely, which makes it even more of a shame that it is wasted on such poor service and food. This place could be something great, but instead it was a complete disappointment and a terrible way to spend a holiday evening. Toscano needs serious improvement in both kitchen execution and server training. Until that happens, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. First time dining here celebrating my daughter's graduation. It was pretty empty and quiet around 3:30. Lots of greenery and Italian statues and motif. You just now ask for the bread. They won't bring it out unless you do as they were having to throw away a lot. The menu is Italian with many appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, and other main dishes. After much deliberation, I ordered the carbonara pasta. Perfect al dente thin spaghetti, crisp pancetta in a creamy sauce. At first I was a little put off by the raw egg yolk on top but after mixing it all together it was great... very flavorful! The calamari and shrimp were among the best I've ever had and come with two sauces. Plenty with leftovers. My son ordered a pizza and it was gigantic. Another daughter ordered the seafood pasta which was loaded with seafood and huge shrimp! The dessert menu looked out of this world but I had no room... Pricing was about $15+. read more

It's been almost ten years since my wife and me last patronized Toscano here in Draper, and only just the other night did we feel any compunction to return to this venue. This is especially due to the 2-Star rating I gave Toscano in July of 2015. You can read that at your leisure. However, my wife was craving lasagna, and we thought we'd give Toscano another chance...so we ordered online and did a takeout for two entrees. My wife did in fact order the lasagna (a "traditional house-made four-layer meat & sausage lasagna"), which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had the "Sicilian" pasta dish, which was a bowl of spaghetti, mushrooms, Italian sausage, capicola, spinach, pepperoni, sun-dried tomatoes, and spicy tomato cream sauce. At first, it had a wonderful taste, but after trying to eat about half of it, I noticed all of the spaghetti was gone leaving the rest of the ingredients in the bowl. A couple of days later I made up a bowl of angel hair and a dumped the rest of the Sicilian on top and warmed it up in the microwave. It wasn't bad, but something in the remaining ingredients got REALLY tough and chewy. I think it was the spinach...or maybe it was the capicola...not really sure, but the pasta topping now wasn't as good as the first night when I brought it home fresh. No, I probably wouldn't order the Sicilian again...just due to the chewy nature of what was left. Overall, Four Stars for good and tasty Italian Food. read more
