One of our favorites. Now that the patio is open we thoroughly enjoy eating and partaking of adult beverages outside on their patio. Sushi is always good and their specialty drinks though expensive are excellent. Service is always very good as well.

This is probably one of the best sushi places I've had in my life, maybe a close second to an omakase spot I had in NYC. I came for my birthday and then my friends birthday. The fish here is so tender, tastes super fresh. The quality and presentation is stunning. Highly recommend. If I could eat here everyday I absolutely would. Also staff are so kind! They take time describing things to you.

This spot totally rocked! The flavors, freshness and texture of the fish were all soo good and perfect. I started with the gyoza which came out soo fast. Literally I was seated and not even ten minutes later my gyoza was out and it tasted so good - crisp while still being soft on the edges and with yummy interior, all swimming in a little pool of sauce. Next was the Milkyway roll which is a shrimp tempura roll with spicy tuna on top. Super good too - the fish is fresh, the tempura was still crispy, it was great. Finally, I finished with the Chilean sea bass and wow...the flakiness and texture of this fish was incredible. So moist and flavorful while being perfectly cooked. I do wish there was a little more bok choy than what came with it, but since it's a tapas place, I can appreciate that they're not going for an entire bok choy side. The one thing I will say is that I think the sushi staff (those preparing the rolls) could have been a little bit more professional. They appeared pretty young (early 20s) which is fine, but then the topics they were talking about were a little inappropriate for having a diner within earshot (like how Americans have ruined Japanese sushi, which is ironic at an American sushi restaurant or trashtalking Utah, etc.) It was a bit of a damper on an otherwise excellent experience.

Such a great sushi spot when you're on a date night! Me and my fiancé got three rolls to share and one of them was fried which was my favorite. The service was great and we will definitely be back for their sushi!

Mint is absolutely delicious. Their original location in Sandy is my favorite of their locations. Each time we go to Mint, the food is deliciously fresh, detailed, plated beautifully, well thought out and creative. The service is wonderful each time - you can tell the staff absolutely loves the product they are serving and stands by it. My favorite is the Yellowtail Hamachi. The sauce under the fresh, perfectly sliced fish, is so flavorful and unique. It is the perfect combination of spicy, vinegary, slightly sweet with a delicious umami flavor. The spicy tuna crispy rice is another favorite of mine. Under the generous serving of spicy tuna is the most perfectly crispy rice patty. So yummy! We have tried many, many things on their menu and it never disappoints. Mint is the perfect place for a date or any special occasion. Make a reservation!

If I could give 10 Stars I would. My favorite place to eat. Everything is fresh and made to order. Excellent food.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Elegant surroundings and service. The food is fresh and made to order and the Lamp Lollipops are to die for. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

I've only ever heard positive things about Mint Tapas & Sushi and yet I always managed to overlook it when choosing a spot for sushi. Why? I have no idea. Maybe the name? Or the location? Who knows. Now that I've visited, I will never overlook it again. Everything from the service to the sushi was absolute PERFECTION. We ordered the salmon belly and three specialty rolls to share and found ourselves in the best kind of food coma. I wish I had tried Mint Tapas and Sushi sooner. It's easily one of my favorite sushi spots in Utah. The next time you're in the mood for sushi, you should definitely go to Mint. Trust me, it's worth the hype.

Delectable dining experience. They have outdoor seating available. Parking was a breeze. For some fun they offer sushi making classes and they offer a 10 course tasting menu. No wait we got a table right away. We had excellent service. Magnificent food presentation. The house salad was fancy AF and real yummy. Seared wagyu beef tasted flavorful and perfect we would definitely order this dish again. I like yakisoba noodles, they had yummy noodles but not my favorite. The miso soup was refreshing. Salmon nigiri was nice and my husband liked the tuna nigiri but I didn't try it myself. The walu ceviche was not typical of a ceviche but it was great. I don't know if I'd order it again but I think it's worth a try. The Shishito peppers were a must have the tempura batter was absolutely perfection. We had a bit of sake and it was a nice time.

After a quick tutorial how to use the iPad to order, we were able to order up to 10 items and had to wait 10 minutes for our next order. A bit cumbersome but I survived. I ordered too many appetizers and should have added more ingredients for my hot pot. Lesson learned. Everything was very fresh and the water tasted very good. The staff is very friendly, patient and helpful. The place is clean and the men's bathroom spotless. The burners for the KBB and Hot Pot are portable and be attentive so not to overcook your food. You will need to ask the server to extinguish the flames and restart... that's how I did it anyway. The food was fresh, well seasoned and the place was clean. I liked my AYCE experience... oh, there's a two hour limit. Bon appetite

I used to be a big fan of Ika. I've brought countless friends here, I've raved about this place…read more Now I'm here to correct that mistake. The food quality has been slipping for months. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt. That ends now. Today, we came as a group of five to celebrate my friend. What should have been a memorable evening became one of the most infuriating dining experiences I've had in years. After we sat down, our waitress was nowhere to be seen for 10-15 minutes. Even when we saw her, we flagged her down 3-4 times and were still ignored. I had to physically get up and chase someone down, and still waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our order. There were only 3 tables in the restaurant. The waitress never once asked me or my friend's mom for our drink order- completely skipped over us. And when drinks did come out, she brought the wrong one to my friend's mom. When we asked for water refills. She filled two glasses out of five and walked off, when my glass was near empty. She then dropped a plate on our table. Moments later, I reached for the food and she snatched it back saying it was for another table. Rude doesn't begin to cover it. We asked for an extra spoon, a completely normal request, and it was met with a dirty look, as if we had asked for something outrageous. When I asked for extra ginger, she placed it at the farthest corner of the table. Whether intentional or not, it felt extremely careless and rude. We ordered uni nigiri, which is not a cheap order. It arrived without seaweed. I've ordered uni nigiri many times here, and it's always come with seaweed. When I flagged it, they didn't remake it, just shoved the seaweed under the rice. An insult to a $20+ piece of nigiri. Throughout all of this, this waitress had a visible attitude toward every reasonable request. What made it worse is that I'm Asian myself, and it was clear she was specifically singling out me and my friend's mom above everyone else at the table. The dismissiveness, the hostility, the microaggressions felt pointed and deliberate. I can only call it what it is: racism and sexism. No one should have to feel targeted at a restaurant they've loyally supported for years. Ika has lost a longtime champion. I will be actively discouraging everyone I know from setting foot in this place. Save your money, your time, and your celebration, and go literally anywhere else. ***Update*** I'd like to clarify a few things since the facts were misrepresented by your response. Funny you bring up my arrival time as if that somehow discredits me. I let my group know I would be a few minutes late, and it was not even close to being an hour. What matters is that after I sat down, our entire group waited 10-15 minutes waving down staff and being repeatedly ignored. I then got up and spoke to a different staff member who was filling ginger by the bar, not even our assigned waitress, and she had to find someone else to help us. That is not "flagging rudely", that is a group of paying customers desperately trying to get basic service. Again, there were only three tables including us. You're welcome to review your security footage to verify this. You claim you were watching closely, but if you were running a restaurant, I find it hard to believe you had the bandwidth to monitor our table that carefully. And if you really were watching, you'd know that we tried to flag down a waiter for over 10 minutes. You also never addressed how long the waitress took to take our orders, never asking me for my drink order, bringing my friend's mom the wrong drink, making a disgusted face when we asked for an extra spoon, dropping the wrong dish on our table and rudely snatching it away, and placing the ginger at the farthest end of the table. Funny how none of that made it into your response. Most importantly, you said nothing about your waitress's sexist behavior toward me and my friend's mother. We were singled out, dismissed, and treated with hostility that the rest of our table did not experience. That was the most egregious part of our visit and you chose to completely ignore it. The uni argument is not worth debating. Seaweed in nigiri is a global standard. Doubling down on that is just embarrassing. I even called that evening to provide this feedback directly, and was told the manager was not available and would call me back the next day. That never happened. Instead of having a conversation and being willing to listen, you chose to come onto Yelp and make this a personal attack against me. Our group was only there because of my recommendation. I was your advocate. That ends now, and so does any business I would have ever sent your way. Your response has only confirmed what kind of establishment this is. So as you said best, goodbye!

We selected 3 to start: Mango Salmon (lots of mango) Snow Bird (avocado & fried shrimp) & Sunshine(salmon & lemon). We finished up with the Fire roll. All the rolls were great, excellent taste with fresh ingredients. Not only was the food excellent but the services was too. It may not looks much, but don't let that stop you. The stop was worth it.

The Chicken Katsu was unfortunately more breaded than chicken so it was very crispy, almost like tasting close to burnt crispiness. The cost of the food, tax, and tip was about $18. Yes, I'll tip, but including that, $18 did not reflect the meal I was served. I will note, a lot of the stuff on the menu seemed pricey. I'm wondering if they are trying to properly balance food cost with the costs of the staff since I think there's 3-4 people working there? Another potential reason for high costs is that they are open till 3:30am. What I've noticed with stores open late at night is that because they are one of few stores actually open that late, they can charge higher prices and people will still buy from them. PLUS, if you are one of few stores open late, you can also get away with lower quality food. So if I had to bet, the pricing and quality of food is supposed to reflect super late night restaurant tactics. I'd only go here if it's the only place you're interested eating at past midnight.
