I would heartily warn everybody from taking their vehicles to be serviced at The Pit Stop ion Glenwood Springs, CO. They did an oik change on my car, and the mechanic did not put the plug in the oil pan securely. I consequently was leaking oil and didn't discover it until I almost missed my plane in Grand Junction because the car's safety mechanism slowed it down to 40 mph. After 2 different employees quoted similar pricing for the job, when it came time to pay, and extra $130 was added without any warning. They did call after the fact to correct the situation. I had an instance where bolts on my vehicle were stripped from using too much torque and have decided to take my vehicle back to the dealer in Denver moving forward. We were on our way across the country from california when our car was having a meltdown from driving up the mountains of colorado. We called all places but this place was able to help us by taking a quick look at it and we were on our way to the rockies with some great advice and diagnosis from the shop. They used to be great but there have been a lot of changes and now they are making mistakes and recommending service that isn't needed. I just had to have a axel seal redone at another shop because the bearing retainer collar which the seal rides on was not pressed into place. It was still 1/2" up the axle. Seal had nothing to "seal on". And of course it was out of warranty. So I paid for a rear axel seal 2 x in 16 months. I hope they can get it together and be good again but until then, buyer beware. read more

Contrary to how I often feel when I go to a new mechanic, I didn't feel like the gentlemen working there were trying to take advantage of me. Had a check engine light on I-70. We stopped at Pit Stop and Brandon quoted us $50 to diagnose the problem. The computer indicated that the light was caused by "running out of fuel" which we did. The pit stop gets no stars. I went in for a simple alignment. They responded by saying I needed to replace almost everything that could possibly have anything to do with alignment resulting in a $1900 quote and a $52 inspection fee. I had my truck inspected by two other shops in town and found out nothing was wrong. In the end I had big o align it for $80 and no problems since. I saved $1820 switching to big o read more
