The pizza presentation was flat, the look of the pizza was basic, full of oils and grease. Ordered a large took one bite of a slice and trashed the entire pizza. I have nothing bad to say about pizza man! This is my second review of them. I found this place 4 months ago and have been going WEEKLY since! Their pizza is ALWAYS consistent and extremely good!! I even got my husband in on it! The staff makes the place what it is! They are so incredibly kind and helpful and I believe they truly love their job there. What can I say! I love this pizza. The service is exceptional. The atmosphere is interesting. It is decorated with artful pizza boxes which change with the seasons. It amuses me to look at them. Decent pizza but Normas pizza shack down the street was better from the freshness and the salad.

I just LOVE the atmosphere of this place! Not sure if they mean it to be this way or they just haven't redecorated since the 90's, but it's nostalgia at its best!! I love that you can watch the pizza guys making the pizza thru the window and the jukebox is such a cool touch. Also, the lighting is SO cool & vibey!! Now for the food.... We have ordered here about 3 times so far, and although pizza has great taste, it just REALLY needs to be made with a thicker crust! So we tried Pizza Man today for the first time in a long time. Lots of toppings but the crust was thin and soggy. I called to complain and basically was told the pizza had too many ingredients for the crust to be crispy. You have to eat it with a fork and then the ingredients slide off the crust. I had heard from a few people and also read in other reviews that this is the best pizza in the area. I have to say that it is indeed the best I have had so far on the north shore. If you're wanting great pizza then this is the place to go. They don't offer anything but pizza. No calzones, breadsticks of any kind, sandwiches, etc. Just pizza. Some may consider it a bit pricey but the beer is cheap. $2.00 mugs of Ultra which is what I drink so that kind of makes up for it. The service was great. My server was on top of things and checked on me regularly. They have a window where you can watch them make the pizza which is fun for the kids. What can you say about the Pizza Man? This has been one of my favorite restaurants, since the 70s. It was a big part of our kids' childhoods and a big part of our marraige. It doesn't matter how slammed they are, they're always on top of things. You walk in the door and Dustin and the kitchen crew make you feel like you're the ONE person they were hoping to see that night. The mother and daughter waitresses always remember our order. What a find! Came here after four hours of boozing it up on the bogue chitto river and man was this the right spot to go to. Handmade pizzas with different styles of toppings and crust. Yes, it is a little weak towards the middle of the pie, but you have to have a little give and take when the pizza is handmade. I truly enjoyed being able to fold those slices of pizza together to get all of that flavor and grease! I wish they served bread sticks, but if you order a salad, chances are that they will serve you a cheese bread stick pan to go with it. Watch out though, the fountain drinks are no buy one get the rest free. You will have to buy one every time you order one. Having said that, for the price we paid ($19), I could have got 2 of the same thing from Papa John's, and we would have been more stuffed! What I mean is, Pizza Man makes their pizzas "thin crust" by default, so if you're looking to feed 4 hungry people, you'll need to order 2 of them (which will run you $38). I'm sure this is a great place to bring the kiddos for an evening out, but for my money, I'll head elsewhere. I ate 1/2 of this thing by myself with no problem. Oh, and I can honestly say that this is NOT the best pizza I've ever had. It was good, I won't deny that, but the price outweighs the satisfaction.
