Went to Bosco's this evening always a pleasant Lunch experience. Unbeknownst to me tonight was lobster night. Very crowded. I ordered the Veal/ Eggplant, Greco. I did not receive the eggplant just two pieces veal. Sara our waitress checked with the chef that said he did send out the eggplant. Wrong! I only got the veal. No veal/Eggplant stack. I ate almost nothing. Thought the customer was always right?. No discount was taken off our bill. Very disappointing. Can't say I will be back. read more

This is one of our favorite places. The food is always consistent and the staff so friendly. We enjoy all the servers at the bar, and really appreciate Carmella. She makes awesome cocktails and is quick to serve. I had her specialty Christmas sugar cookie drink as well as a Peppermint Chocolate Espresso martini. The sugar cookie one was the best. But that was about it, some friends and I went grab lunch and I ordered the lasagna and it came out steaming hot but the inside was cold it didn't taste very fresh. My friend ordered a veil Parmesan and the red sauce was watery and the meat tasted frozen. We then ordered a gelato and we took it to go and it was also freezer burnt. They squeezed us in without a reservation on a Friday evening. We waited in the bar with cocktails, both very good. Only waited about 30 minutes. The dining room is low light and intimate, food was delicious and portions were so large that we had dinner at home the next night off of the leftovers. A great little spot for Italian food and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back. read more

The customer service was good, but I was disappointed in the food. We ordered a pan of Alfredo noodles to go/heat up at home, and the sauce was broken. It was super greasy and globby. If you ever want to eat a muffaletta this is the place to go. Hands-down their muffuletta has the most meat and cheese on it of any muffuletta that I've ever eaten, even better than central grocery store. At one time this restaurant was our favorite Italian eatery in the area. Unfortunately the last 2 visits for lunch on the weekend were average at best. First the A/C was running too cold given the outside temp. My wife ordered Chicken Parm and I ordered the Chicken Pane and the meat was overcooked on both plates. In addition she sent her green beans back to the kitchen to be cooked a bit more and when they came out they looked very unappetizing and she did not want them. Sadly we will probably not be back for a meal anytime soon. read more

Great spot for consistently good Italian food. Portions are huge so you can definitely split a meal here. Very good local seafood dishes like fried soft shell crab (in season) and nightly fish specials. My favorite is their tomato cream sauce. read more

I'm not a fan. Overpriced spaghetti that was not that good. I asked for my meatball on the side due to an egg allergy, and they did not even give it to me. Real Italian Food very good and not that expensive. You have to be a little dressy. It has a romantic atmosphere and they treat you like family. I highly recommend trying it but you do need reservations on a weekend night. read more

This place is absolutely the best Italian on the northshore. We decided to pick up a Italian salad and chicken Marsala. The Marsala came with a side of pasta and red gravy. It was all perfect! The service was a bit slow but the server was kind and truly doing the best she could do. The place was clean and well kept too. The delay was likely the kitchen!. My issue was with the food. Totally expensive for crappy food! I ordered the panè chicken with Alfedo angel hair pasta. The breaded chicken consisted of four remarkably thin, small and overcooked HOCKEY PUCKS! I had a steak knife and felt I needed a saw because it was so difficult to cut. The pasta was a white blob of nothing special white sauce and kind of thick. The blue cheese dressing on the house salad was very good but they doused it on, which overwhelmed it. Maybe this was to hide the fact that it was not a house salad just lettuce with two tiny tomatoes. Now, I had a glass of red wine but with tip my bill was just shy of $46 for one person! I don't mind the cost if you give me quality but this was high cost crap. It has a been awhile since I have eaten there, but my meal at Bosco's has disappointed me before! 5% service fee on whatever you buy. I know inflation has hit everyone hard, but to pass any extra fee onto the consumer once you get the check, is not cool. Adding the 5% across the menu would have been a better option. Also, adding a $3 update, because someone wants an appetizer as their meal because their are not that hungry...not cool. The food is good. The pizza on the kids menu is a great value. Loved the bread served as a starter. Portion sizes are huge, also a plus. The negatives are really the ambiance. The outside looks like it's going to be a casual experience but the decor and tables seem like they're going for something upscale, which the prices reflect. The decor is outdated though. I always preface my less than perfect reviews with the disclosure that this is my opinion and taste. We need good local businesses so please don't make a decision not to visit based on this or any other review, at least give them a shot if you haven't been! It might seem irrelevant to some, but the reason I won't be back isn't the food (although that is part of it), but their credit card policy, explained below. Bosco's is located in a pretty unassuming strip mall type location with what I assume is their pizza place next door (Bosco's Pizza). We were quickly greeted after walking in and the front and rear dining areas are pretty big but nothing special with what I would describe as slightly tacky lower end decor, but overall clean and well kept. As I mentioned above the issue I have is with their strange and pretty silly credit card policy which are you quickly presented with after sitting down, so I suppose the one positive is they are up-front about it. Had we not been with a party of 8 I would have likely just walked out. Accepting credit cards is part of doing business and there is a fee on each transaction every business must pay, they are not alone, businesses accept the fees as part of doing business, and maybe even build in part of that cost to the product/food cost but putting it on the credit card processor charging pretty high (I believe 4%) transaction fee (for what they call "extra security") is petty and just ridiculous. If you can't afford to pay some credit card fees maybe you should re-evaluate your business model. More importantly, I'm not wanting to come in and read a paragraph about why the extra nickel and diming is necessary and why it should be my problem as a customer to pay it. As to the meal, it was disappointing. I had the baked tortellini with a meatball, others had the veal, and the eggplant parmesan. We also all had a side salad which is actually pretty big. I had the vignette dressing which had a nice flavor and was one of the better ones I've had. The tortellini did not taste like fresh/homemade pasta and the sauce was a mix of red and white which was ok, but again didn't taste very fresh, like something I could get from a jar. The veal was tender and pretty well seasoned and I didn't try the egg plant but they seemed to like it. My biggest issue was with the meatball which was just terrible. It had a very heavy pork flavor which is not how I like my meatballs. It was tender which was nice, but either they don't use the traditional meat mixture or that's just how they do it, either way, it wasn't very good. Overall the price, food quality/taste, and credit card policy make this somewhere I wouldn't return to especially considering other Italian options that are in the area. read more

Absolutely the best muffuletta in the area. Order it with prosciutto for an extra tasty meal. The muffuletta comes in only one size and it is huge. It is enough for two people for sure. It is probably enough for four people. 1/4 is all you really need considering the amount of meat on this thing. They have many other things on their menu but the muffuletta really shines. They get busy so call ahead and place that order to-go. It took 20 minutes and was $16.40 for one muffuletta. This is a good deal considering how much you get. read more
