This is a small pizza place great for take out. The location and outside may not look appealing but I highly suggest trying it! The pizza is really good. The pizza taste like authentic Italian pizza, which has a very good crust and a good gravy, an decent cheese which is hard to find in the south. Other pizza places the crust does not taste very good which made me switch to them for pizza because they have a very good crust! Prices are average comparable to other pizza places. Was in the mood for something quick to eat after work. Walked in and it was empty. They looked at me then quickly looked away. Didn't acknowledge me at all. Stood in front of the register and asked to see a menu. They continued cooking there pizzas and ignored me . I left and never even got to try the food :( read more

I reviewed this restaurant over 2 years ago. In the last year they have new management. Very friendly and prices are very reasonable for Mount Dora. The pizza is very good - not the same sauce as the previous owner/manager but still very good tasting. And what makes it even more enjoyable is that they actually slice the pizza all the way through the crust, so you can pick up a slice without part of it sticking to the paper. Previously we had two pasta dinners that we just didn't like as much as their pizza, chicken parmigiana (too spicy) and fettuccine Alfredo, not cheesy enough. The manager apologized and said they would be sure to quality check each dinner in the future. She also quickly offered to credit both dinners toward our next pizza order and then when we went to pick up our more expensive pizza order (extra large with 2 salads and extra toppings), she told us it was free and thanked us for giving them the feedback. To me that is an exemplary attitude and business practice, especially for a small business. We will definitely be ordering from them again. read more

I stopped in for their lunch special, 2 slices and a soda for $6. Not a bad price in my opinion. I probably would've bought something else but they only had 4 slices of cheese and 3 slices of pepperoni on display. I got 2 cheese slices. They were decent, I didn't hate my meal. I liked the crunch of the crust but all in all nothing special. Not a very good location and the place looks run down. If you're in Mt. Dora and in the mood for pizza I would recommend this place as this is the only "NY Style" pizzeria in the area. I am not only a Jersey girl, but a former Pizzeria owner so I am very picky about my pizza. When visiting Mt. Dora, my daughter took us here. I had to do a double take when I saw Bocce's because it looked like something from WAY back in time. But the funny thing is, the pizza here is also from way back in time! Remember when you went to a business and the owner himself was the one running the place? Now imagine that the owner himself is the one making the pizza. Yup, you got it. And he probably uses an authentic recipe from way back in time because the crust and the sauce are amazing. The service is excellent as well. Don't look for ambiance if you want to eat in. But I highly recommend you do. Our pizza came out of the oven fresh, hot and delicious. We will definitely be getting our pizza from Bocce's next time we visit Mt. Dora. read more

After many recommendations we tried it!! The grilled chicken salad was amazing!! I got the large and will have 3 meals out of it! Full of chicken and olives. My husband had a pizza. He likes the crust a little bit crispier - but we'll know to order it that way next time. It was ready when they said it would be and for 2 of them the place was running smoothly!! This is the best pizza place there is in the Mount Dora area. The owner puts so much effort and loves what he does so much so that he doesn't appreciate when you put spices on his already "perfect" pizza. This is very true, because this pizza is one of the best, if not the best I've ever had. Pizza alone is not all this place sells, but I didn't have any interest in anything other than the pizza. This place also does delivery but I have yet to try it, and will update this when/ if I do. The environment is a sub par original Italian resturant and is why I added one less star. The prices are a little higher than normal too, but well worth it. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some delicious pizza. read more

OK first this place is not closed like the title says, unless it just closed yesterday which I doubt. This is the best pizza in the Mount Dora area. This is in a ugly location and could definately use some fresh paint and wouldn't recomend this as a dine-in place and only get take-out but have always loved it. Run by the same guy who is either Italian or Puerto Rican (can't tell) but the Pizza and wings have always been great! Stuffed Pizza is yummy, home made dough. Subpar chicken parmegian...sauce was good but the chicken you could tell was a frozen cutlet that was like a bad chicken nugget. Ordered the large Italian sub cold, was served it hot. So the made another and served me a small Italian sub on stale bread with toppings and mayo that I didn't want. This all happened by the way as the one who took my order argued with me saying he didn't remember I asked for a cold sub. Best pizza I have found in Mt.dora area by far. Real NY style pizza but most importantly the customer service is superior. As a first time customer I didn't know they didn't accept Amex. When I arrived to pick up pizza I only had my Amex. While most places would have just said sorry and not given me the already ordered pizza the owner told me to take the pie. This simple act has a created a life long customer plus it's great pizza. I did come back the following day to pay him in full and he was very appreciative.
