    Cheeseburger and Tots

I really wanted to like this place, but our bartender was very rude and clearly did not want to be there. Service was just bad. I had never been to a froggers and was excited. The setting is pretty cool. I asked the bartender, what's good here? And she said everything. I asked what she liked and she said she doesn't ever order anything that's on the menu. I asked which burger was popular and she said she builds her own. There was zero help given and she walked away or acted I was the worst person on the planet for asking questions. Mind you, it wasn't busy at all. My order came out correctly, but my friends didn't. There was no following up to see if we were enjoying our food or if we needed anything. The cheeseburger was very bland, came with no condiments. The experience with the bartender was already so miserable, so I didn't ask for anything and just ate the burger dry. Very upset with this experience.

Ordered delivery, I understand for the menu item they use tenders but the size and quality was an absolute joke. Plus it was missing the lettuce and tomatoes. One star just because I called to add a side of sauce and they put it in there.

I've been wanting to try Froggers and finally got the opportunity. It was a lovely day so asked to be seated outside. Inside was spacious with many TVs and a bar dividing two sections. Host walked us through the server station near the kitchen to the outside, which was the shortest path but felt a little odd. In fact, I held back thinking he was not meaning for us to follow him that way. The outside is a huge deck with a covering and fans. There were five TVs out there as well. Most tables had ashtrays and people were smoking so if you are not wanting to smell smoke during your meal you may want to stay indoors. I will mention it was quite chilly inside with the AC set low. Service was below average. The waitress never checked on us for a drink refills until she brought the check. She was nice though. I ordered grilled shrimp, onion tangles and grilled veggies. The veggies were 90% broccoli with two thin slices of zucchini and two thin slices of yellow squash. The food was good, and there were lots of good options on the menu. I hadn't realized it was a chain restaurant. They serve Pepsi products. I don't know if it is because if they are called Froggers that they want the waitresses to wear shorts, but one of the waitresses (thankfully not ours) had such short shorts on, it looked like she wasn't wearing anything. It was very cheeky and she did not have the body to pull it off unfortunately. I don't see any need to go back with lots of other options around.

Been here twice for pickup order during the panic. Great packaging and food safety practices. Came back today to see how it was to eat here. First off, wasn't real busy for a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Bartender was busy, but greeted me as I sat down. Beer was cold and I ordered food. Have to say, the Mini Chicken sliders were awesome. Great flavor, grilled to awesome! Bacon was just right. Not overdone and not under. Highly recommend giving this a visit. I know I'll come back.

Went back for the first time in awhile the other day and it was just as good as I remembered it! Great drinks, casual atmosphere, and good food. It offered lots of outdoor seating and the service was excellent. It's a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner.

That's what we did that morning. Ambiance was great. It felt like each little dining area was a different room in a big, semi-haunted mansion. Eclectic books and paintings and mirrors and other baubles adorned much of the walls, making for plenty of looking around time during you meal. Very fun. Service was really good. The pacing of the meal was great, and our server was very friendly. We were always with drink, and she knew the menu backwards and forwards, even the special dishes of the night. As for the food, we went whole hog with two apps, two mains, and a dessert to share. Out of everything we ordered, only one of them remains on the current menu, which is a great sign. I love a rotating, seasonal menu. It shows effort, and it definitely encourages return patronage. We started with the Ciabatta Board (toasted ciabatta, house butter made with sun dried tomato, roasted red pepper, parmesan, garlic, chive). This was nice. It was very sun dried tomato, so if you don't like them, don't get this. But very soft, toasty bread made this very lovely. We also got an escargot app which was very creamy and soup-like. The snails were complimented well by the spinach. And the whole thing came with a nice little breadstick. I saved some of the bread from the board for some sopping. Pro move. For our mains, we got a miso butter New York strip and some sort of Asian themed duck. For both mains, the proteins were cooked very very well, and the portion sizes were a good size compared to what I was expecting. Both sets of taters were good. The mash was very smooth and creamy, the roasted baby potatoes were cooked all the way through and were nice and naturally buttery. Both were served with a seasonal veg mix that was pretty ok. It rounded out the plate, but it won't change your world or anything. We finished off with one of the best slices of cheesecake I've ever had. Incredibly smooth with the perfect cheesecake density, the perfect amount of chocolate chips inside, and a nice little crust that added that little bit of texture that is needed from the crust. Overall, quite a meal! To survive in a small town with these prices and those quality ingredientes and that unique of a menu design is very impressive. I will certainly be back.

Cons: Not a single con. A great little visit. Tips: The menu has completely changed since we went, which is good, so I can't recommend any specific dishes. But the ones I see on the menu now look absolutely banging.

The Southern burger was great, but I tossed off the raw onions as I absolutely hate them, and added the lovely pickled onions from my wife's salad, which gave the perfect amount of flavor and color. Don't you agree? Give me a LIKE if you do !!! The crepe was next level. Delicate crepe, very soft ripe bananas, sauce was not disgustingly sugary, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and soft, not icy and sweet. Dunno what brand they use, or if they churn the cream fresh in-house, but it made my day.

There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

As a vegetarian and my wife being Gluten Free, we wondered what we would order. If we knew our friends better, we would have suggested going elsewhere, but did not say much. I saw that they have a side salad and wondered if they could make that into an entree portion for me. The very nice waitress came back with a resounding 'no', they could not accommodate. The menu was almost 100% meat or fish. There was one vegetarian plate, which was expensive and I could not see the value reflected in the rather large asking price. Instead, I ordered 3 sides, Brussel Sprouts, grits and sweet potatoes, each $5.00. They were all good with the exception of the Brussel Sprouts having a gas taste. So too much flame there. My wife eats meat and had the Prime Rib (first time in 20 years). She said it was good and it was $34. The Salmon was also $34. Our friends each had the blackened salmon and they were also $34. These came with 1 side. To us, we felt the food was overpriced. The mostly meat menu caters obviously to only meat eaters and the owner was not willing to make any changes as our friend wanted to leave the bacon oil out, and that didn't happen. I suppose they do not need our business and our friends felt the same way. Of course, after hearing such good things about the place, we were sorry we went there. Or course, if in the future the name of the restaurant comes up, we will share our experiences. Word of mouth advertising came be good or bad. Seemed like the waitress has had to give the 'no change' answer lots of times before. So, this was not our kind of restaurant as they didn't serve what we wanted. Oh well, we tried.

The food took quite a while, with our main entrees (everyone got the butchers cut) coming out just around 1 hr or after we ordered. We're patient so that was no problem, but the steak was chewy and super rare when they told us it would be around medium. The fries were decent. Avocado aioli was good. The garlic aioli tasted like flavored sour cream. The lobster wontons were mostly cream cheese. As for dessert - they ended up being out of the brûlée and the orchard crunch. Matthew so kindly heard our requests for alternatives and checked with the kitchen to substitute for affogato, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We werent impressed by the food, but we did have a late reservation so maybe earlier wouldve provided a better tasting experience.
