I may not eat pizza too often, but I always drive to this one place which is a 30 minute drive just to get to it. But so worth it. Today I stopped and had a supreme Vesuvius small pizza. All I can say is OMG. They're always very fast and efficient And if you stay and eat, the ladies are really nice. This place does not have frills bells and whistles. They lean on great quality food from the past dishes right straight through. That's why it's worth me taking a 30 minute drive just to stop and eat. read more

Mount Dora Pizza & Subs. Wow. They are iconic in Mt. Dora. I have been eating there for over 40 years (yep, giving my age away). In fact, every Tuesday night we order an 18" pizza for take out. Why? Because they have the best pizza around!! Seriously, they really can't be beat when it comes to pizza. All of their Italian cuisine is amazing. I also recommend their spaghetti, it's one of my favorites. And, don't forget to order a side of their yummy cheesy garlic bread. Dining is casual, family oriented. The staff are all very friendly. I live in Mount Dora so I've been to this pizza restaurant before but today I ordered delivery with DoorDash and the pizza didn't taste as good as I remember and also it was cold And so I guess it's better for me just to go to the restaurant instead of ordering delivery cause it's not the same quality taste. read more

I'm from NJ so I am VERY picky about pizza and this one was not bad at all!! The sauce had a nice flavor and the pizza crust wasn't soggy and had a nice crunch. We got traditional cheese because a place is only as good as their cheese pizza id you ask me! We also tried their garlic knots, cheese sticks and spaghetti with meatballs. Everything was nice and hot, had food flavors and left everyone in a carb coma for a few hours. The portions are generous and they made the food quickly and offered plates and napkins when we picked it up. They also offer dine in seating. Overall, the food was good and I was pleased with our to-go experience. I will definitely order from them again soon. read more

This place is my heart for Italian American comfort food. My family has been going here since I was a little girl, so well over 30y. When anyone in my family walks in they are treated like family there. I recently had a trip there last weekend when I went to visit my father. It was everything I remembered after being gone for 14y! It was like I had never left. I ordered my favorite chicken parm and pepperoni pizza. It hasn't changed and instantly I was brought back to my last time there and my first time and all of the times in between with my large crazy family. Aside from nostalgia, the food here is really delicious. Their red sauce is perfect and portions are substantial. They don't skimp on the cheese, and happy to add more on! Which I definitely need! I just ask! They have a Saturday lunch as well! Just get there before 3pm. I brought a dear friend with me last weekend and she absolutely loved it as well! Service was spot on and Cindy was wonderful! Don't expect anything fancy here. It's a small hole in the wall and it's perfect for all of the right reasons. Be patient because they get busy during early dinner and dinner! Lots of older people having their early dinners! Hardcore loyals! But also lots of pick up orders. I'm moving to the area soon. His younger brother, the cashier and order taker has become less caring, friendly and does not care about customer service. I brought several members of a high school basketball team here in between games since downtown was so busy and there was no parking. The parking lot is expansive so plenty of parking. The restaurant seated us right away and the inside was clean. Our service was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. This is probably the best pizza in Mount Dora. I'm a big fan of the Vesuvio Regular pizza here - which is a white pizza with fresh tomatoes with garlic and herbs. The diced tomatoes are added before it goes into the oven, so they come out soft and just right. Their staff executes it consistently the same each and every time - it looks near identical every time I lift up the top of the pizza box. I have only ever ordered for pick-up, but this place stays busy with nearly every table full every night of the week. Pick-up service is always nice and efficient, despite the somewhat chaotic atmosphere and 5-6 employees crammed into a 8' x 8' work space! I'd recommend arriving 5 minutes before the time they give you as an estimate when your order will be ready though, as they just keep completed orders on top of their oven and things can get cold quickly. I have also had the garlic knots and garlic cheese bread, but I would recommend passing on both. The garlic knots are claimed by some to be life-changing, so I tried them several times and every time they were undercooked and underwhelming. The garlic cheese bread is thin bread with melted mozzarella - not worth the menu price in my opinion. Stick to the pizza and salads! read more
