I'm so into pH-ing that I pH my chicken and ducks water. These guys deal with serious growers, but they also deal with wannabe serious growers like myself. The other thing I like about the place is it's not like going to an understaffed nursery where you have to track someone down to get information. They are right there and will give you the time necessary to get your job done right. And lastly this is icing on the cake, some of the best prices on soil. And good soil, not Miracle let's throw some glyphosate into the mix while nobody's looking Grow stuff. We're talking Fox Farm, Organic Roots to name a few. And she's ready to help you understand why you will also soon be a collector of succulents. Four Seasons occupies the end space of a small strip mall just off 880 in San Leandro. Their indoor shop is filled with pots she's sourced mostly from China. But outside, in the sun, are all the assorted succulents she has curated from all over the world. There are Mediterranean succulents, South American, African, Australian, Asian... it all gets overwhelming at some point. But the owner is always roaming and ready to fit your home space reality and sun exposure to just the right variety of succulent that catches your eye. She has specimens that will thrive outdoors in our Mediterranean climate or indoors in everything from direct to indirect lighting. Expect to get succulent overload here. A heads-up: Nothing has a price tag here, so you will need to find the owner to work out the cost of specimens. It was a casual low pressure convo throughout the morning and finally called to get the deal done and set up for the delivery of 5cu yds I needed. Good communication by txt about the upcoming delivery and when the truck arrived, I was off-site but had the area prepped and the driver dropped it off perfectly on the tarp. Emailed Connie's Pond & Koi on 6/6/25 via their email on the website, asking if they sell Shubunkin…read moregoldfish. I got a reply from Hank stating they have Shubunkin goldfish in stock. The reply back was, "Yes, we have in stock." So the next day I drive all the way from the Central Valley to check out their Shubunkin stock. To my dismay, I'm told by an older man at the back store that they don't have any Shubunkin goldfish. I told him that I emailed Hank and he said you had them. The man then tried to sell us on Koi, but we told him we specifically need Shubunkin since we have many plants in our pond and the Koi would eat them, that's why we specifically are looking for Shubunkin goldfish. He then directed us to some Comet goldfish but not what we were looking for. Tried to look at the plants and other fish but the thought of me being lied to and driving that distance from the Central Valley was too much, so we left. This company was deceitful just to lure us into their facility. If they could lie about a simple straight forward question what other things would they lie about just to get you to buy something. Would not go back again! Will be searching for a trustworthy Shubunkin goldfish dealer elsewhere. What a way to deceive a potential customer.
