While these servers are some of the hardest workers and the concept is good, it just doesn't work! Great playlist, ok decor, but let them sing... Dancing around, lip syncing and cutting the songs off half way through, just doesn't cut it. Let them sing or at least let them Karaoke !!! Salad dressing was very good, Chicken Parm was mediocre and the Beef Tortellini, which is Cheese Tortellini with ground beef on top, why? A lip sync bar is kind of a silly concept but maybe that's what folks in Chattanooga are into these days. Plus you don't get to suffer the humiliation of karaoke if you aren't a Broadway performer. What a nice Surprise to dine at The Playlist on the 4th of July! The servers are singers and performers and it was really fun to watch them sing and lip sync to my favorite 80s tunes and to see that my teenagers could sing along! The Italian Food is awesome, really some of best food I have eaten. (Chicken Marsala) Chef got the seasoning exactly right. The restaurant is family friendly and fun. What a surprising find! Been to Chattanooga several times over the last two years and randomly decided to try it as we've seen it on this unassuming corner. My husband and I went to Playlist for a great night out on the town. We did not get that. The evening started, we were seated and someone dropped off the salad at our table. They did introduce themselves or ask what we like to drink or if we needed waters. We finished our salad. The bartender dropped off the garlic knots. We seat for 10-15 minutes and had the wave someone down to get drinks and order. I ordered the chicken marsala and husband ordered the gnocchi. The pasta was over sauced and very heavy on the garlic. The gnocchi was better than the chicken marsala. Did not even comp our drinks for the bad serve. I would have had a better experience if I would have ordered take out from Biba's and watched videos on Amazon music. It would have been less expensive too. I was expecting the lip sinking because the advertising on the building says the server's sing. This is the new chucky cheese. But chucky cheese is a better value. We will not be going back because it is too expensive for what it is. Not a good value. read more

We were on our way to the Tennessee Aquarium when someone handed us a coupon for The Playlist. After finishing up at the Aquarium, we figured, "what the heck" and ended up stumbling into one of the most unexpectedly fun and memorable dining experiences I've ever had. At The Playlist, guests pick the songs, and the servers put on full-blown lip sync performances with an energy level that was seriously unmatched. And beyond their incredible performances, the service was incredible. Our server was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to love what they were doing. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, which turned out to be the crowd favorite at our table. I also appreciated that soft drinks were included with the ticket--nice touch. Even the manager was out helping clear tables and serve food, which says a lot about the team. Yes, the whole thing is a bit silly--but in the absolute best way. I think they were in such a hurry to get people in and out due to Valentine's Day, that the service was hampered! It was way overpriced. The food options were limited and not that great. The garlic knots were hot and crispy but the rest of the food seemed like an afterthought. I ordered the chicken parm and the breading was not crispy like I would expect good Italian food to be. The lady ordered the Alfredo and not only was it the same spaghetti noodles as the chicken parm but the sauce lacked depth of flavor. I'm not one to typically write reviews but, I straight up couldn't walk away from this place without saying something. We came in from out of town and decided to book a table for dinner. I should've known something heinous was about to be revealed when we walked in and there were plastic roses strung up around the sign, but we already paid for the table so why not? This joint is a thinly-veiled excuse to humiliate the servers and the guests in equal measure. The second warning sign should've been seeing that it was dead as a graveyard on a Saturday night, but that's my bad for going in with high hopes. You're sat at a booth, somewhere within a bizarre layout that could be pulled right from a sadist's idea of a funhouse. The stage was snatched from your old middle school theater play, and with the feeling of getting slapped over the head with a lead pipe, you realize your servers--kind, welcoming, enthusiastic--are the ones performing on set. All this could be fine if it weren't for the lip syncing. The performance is just lip syncing. God bless the servers for putting their all into it, but sweet Jesus, what a night. Topped off with food that tastes and feels delicately microwaved, and drinks that wouldn't give a toddler a buzz, my friend aptly put that it was "someone's version of Hell". The garlic bread was delightful though! I appreciated the hard work and dedication of the servers. They were the highlight of the experience in their attentive attitudes and warm personalities. I wish them nothing but the best of luck and an escape to an environment that can treat them with dignity and respect--there are incredible burlesque dinner and show experiences that this place has the potential to be. All in all, this is the place to be if you want to experience excruciating awkwardness and poignant disappointment. Certainly not worth the hefty price tag in advance. read more
