I didn't realize this place was located in the building it is in. I had seen the sign before but didn't connect the dots. Inside the restaurant is cozy and dimly lit giving the feel of an upscale dining establishment with an old world feel. The food was super and the service was really good. They have a great special for those with birthdays. We had a terrific time.

    Great meal. Pictures of drinks.

Outstanding food and service!!! Lemon cello martini and Godiva chocolate cocktail - both outstanding. Ceasar salads - yummy. Curry pasta dish w chicken- creamy sauce- very nice Veal saltambooca - delicious. Ham was better than average prosciutto. Served with potatoes. Nice combo. Owner super friendly. Sat w us for a few minutes. Checked w us several times to see if we were ok w it. He made the experience special and fun. We will defy e back and recommend it. Not easy to find but worth the adventure. Get a resi!

I've heard amazing things about this place so I was excited to give it a try. The building is kinda hidden and out of the way which is nice and parking was easy. The inside is small and intimate and while we sat down in an empty section, within minutes it was full of people and became very loud and it was hard to hear the people I was eating with. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and knew when to check in and when to leave us alone. We started off with the bruschetta which is just three pieces of bread topped with a pesto like sauce, tomato and mozzarella. It was okay, but for the price tag I was expecting more than 3 on the plate. I order a side Caesar as none of the entrees come with salads and it was very delicious and a good portion size for the price. For the main dish I got the capellini del sud and while us was good, it wasn't anything special. Angel hair pasta in a light sauce with minimal artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. I see myself coming back with friends for a special occasion, but not just to because I'm craving it.

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Chattanooga. Boccaccia offers the most authentic Italian food you can find in Chattanooga, and delivers it in a quite, intimate setting with exceptional service. I have celebrated birthdays here (both for myself and others) and have had a great experience each time. Service: The service has always been attentive, helpful, and personable here. I do suggest making a reservation since they have operate under more European hours of operation and have limited seating. Food: The food speaks for itself in this quaint little spot located away from the main commercial areas of Downtown Chattanooga. Bruschetta: Light, fragrant, fresh. Tagliolini Bolognese: You cannot go wrong with this dish. When in doubt, go with the rustic and hearty flavor of the bolognese here. Ravioli Spinach e Formaggi: An impeccable offering for the vegetarian patron. The pasta is fresh and delicate with just the right amount of filling and coverage of delicious sauce. Gnocchi Arrabiatta: A wonderful take on gnocchi in a deliciously creamy sauce with a touch of heat. Involtini Val d'Aosta: The protagonist of the menu, hands down. A complexity of flavor on a single plate that will arouse the senses. The balsamic reduction has a robust yet delicate flavor profile which marries well with the depth of flavor in the chicken stuffed with prosciutto and fontina cheese. Paired with a fettucine alfredo that your nonna would approve of. Dover Sole: The absolute king on the menu. A tour de force of flavor and execution. Worth the price point. Wine and Cocktails: A generous offerings of wine and cocktails that has something for everyone. Atmosphere: An intimate setting that lends itself to smaller parties of two to six. Lovely for a date night. Parking is not a problem as the location does not have to compete with high traffic counterparts. I highly recommend this dining experience. It is worth the pretty penny it'll cost.

Holy moly! I have been dreaming of this gnocchi every since I had it a few weeks ago. I went for a a friend's birthday dinner and had such a great time! The service was kind, friendly, and tentative. Boccaccia is such a gem and such a romantic, intimate environment. Check it out next time you want to be transported to a dreamy Italian destination

A very intimate dining experience. Anna was our server and she was so engaging. She gave us her recommendations and they were fantastic. We started with the fried Calamari which was tender and delicious. Nothing greasy or overly chewy. I had the bolognese which I adored , my husband had the chicken parmigiana that came with a side of pasta. The chicken had a very nice crisp to it. Good sized portions at good prices. But here's something that's fantastic: on your birthday you receive a complimentary entree and a piece of chocolate cake, incredible! I've read reviews that say this is a great place for special occasions, and it is , but don't just come here for those. This restaurant should be enjoyed anytime. They have a very nice wine selection and the service is unbeatable. Good parking right outside the door. Make reservations!

We went on a Monday night and it was pretty crowded but we were seated quickly. They give each table a big plate of bread with butter, which was delicious and a nice treat. I ordered the arancini to start with. I love arancini, and so many restaurants in Atlanta put meat in them. These were SO good, maybe my favorite arancini that I've had recently. Good ratio of risotto to cheese and nice and crispy. The sauce that came with them was really good too. I wish you got more for the cost, but it was comparable to every restaurant. I ordered the Pomodoro al Vegetariana but subbed penne for the spaghetti (just not a fan lol). The pasta was really good and perfectly cooked. The sauce was maybe a little too garlicky? There was a good ratio of pasta to veggies. I don't like mushrooms but they blended in enough that I could eat them. My gf got the Penne Toscana because she's allergic to garlic, so this was one of the few things she could eat. (Side note, one of the other local Italian restaurants we called basically said there was nothing she'd be able to eat there.) Some of the artichoke pieces were really chewy and the dish was very oily, otherwise she enjoyed it. The inside is very nice, cozy and not stuffy. Our waitress was super sweet.

2 Star -- My Lawyer Friend and I Are Considering This a Chargeable Offense…read moreIn the legal world, there's a concept called "misrepresentation." My attorney dining companion will tell you it applies here. I've eaten lasagna on three continents. I've never once feared it. Until now. What arrived at our table was, generously speaking, a flat pancake wearing a cheese disguise -- topped with shredded beef that seemed just as confused about its life choices as the chef who plated it. Green? Green. I didn't order a lawn clipping casserole. I ordered lasagna -- the cornerstone dish, the anchor of any Italian menu worth its salt (of which this dish also needed more). Lasagna is not a canvas for creativity. It is a covenant. A sacred agreement between a restaurant and its guests that says: we know what we're doing here. This dish broke that covenant, shredded it, and apparently used it as a garnish. My recommendation? Locate the nearest Italian grandmother. Apologize to her. Take notes. Start over.

I did not say anything due to the second reason. Server didn't seem to be too keen on giving us top notch service. We have taken note that when we are a table of four, they always give us the rundown of the nightly specials. In. Great. Detail. Every time it is just the Husband and I? Nada. Nothing. Not even an introduction by the server this time. It's not the same server either. Happens with whomever we have. Seems to be something that they need to work on at this restaurant. We love this place! Watchman (our server) did a great job when it came to serving the food. But I should not have to ask about the specials nor ask for his name. We always tip more than expected, but when will servers learn that going above and beyond will get them above and beyond the expected tip? Hopefully something changes before our next visit to Chattanooga.

Showed up about 8:30 PM, had to wait for a table because the place was so incredibly dirty. The whole place looks "worn out"and little remains of its once elegant demeanor. The wait staff was young and more interested in horsing around with each other than taking care of diners. Paid $12 for 4 ounces of a very sour (!) Prosecco with a squirt of blackberry syrup at the bottom, but no straw to get to it. The fried raviolis were just cheese-filled and tasted of old oil. The salad contest consisted of whole leaves of iceberg lettuce, four slices of beets and six garbanzos. (This is for two people.) the salad dressing tasted of nothing but oil. The garlic rolls, for which I had raved to my wife, came out hard cold and stale. I ate a couple anyway thinking that the next batch would be fresh, but was told when I asked for more that they were "out." Since this was formerly a highlight of the Provino's experience this hit hard. My wife's entrée tasted burnt as as the only flavor and she refused to eat it. My eggplant Parmesan was cold inside and gelatinous, although the plate was warm.
