There are two bars, one on the lower level and another in the main room. The bartenders, were well skilled in their craft. It was an open bar, so they had to hustle to keep up with the thirsty guest. Eclipse Catering is part of, The Atrium, so they did the dinner and it was excellent. We started out with a small Caesar Salad. Guest got to choose between chicken or steak as their entree. I chose steak and it was fork tender, so I really did not need to use the steak knife they provided. It came with two-sides, Roasted Potatoes and Purple Carrots. Both were excellent choices. The serving of dinner went smoothly, The servers knew which entree each guest requested, because the words chicken or steak were written under our name of the place cards. A simple detail like that can make things so easy. For the size of the space, I was impressed with the acoustics. When the wedding party gave their toast, they were easy to hear. Also, when the DJ started playing music to get the party started, there was no echo. Their sweet wines are like wine coolers - and what college student doesn't like those? That should give context to the quality of wine and positioning of this space). Their traditional varietals all have sweet or fruit forward notes - Cabs are more like Pinots but lacking the depth and notes of a true spicy, bold cab. Past this, parking is like a festival, down a dirt road about a quarter mile walk from the front door. While I wouldn't return, it's a great place for an event and provides something unique to the area. And obviously the Greek system utilizes as a more sophisticated approach to the bars in Columbia.

This is a really cool building which houses artists studios. It also opens to the public…read morefrequently to have receptions and showcase its artists' work. The building is somewhat industrial-looking, like a warehouse/small factory converted into art studios. The mastermind behind this conversion, a thin, charming gray-haired man with glasses (I can't remember his name!) is an artist himself and crafted the enormous sliding doors to each artist's studio. Each door is custom, unique and impressive. It utilizes ordinary and construction materials in sort of a flat, yet dimensional sculpture. The lighting is professional. The building's exterior has few opaque walls, and uses tinted windows from floor to ceiling in most cases. The artists featured here are all either aspiring or actual professional artists. I find most of them to be very talented. The famous MIssouri water-colorist Paul Jackson maintains a space here. Come here on a weekend during the art crawls, or artrageous friday's or whenever this place opens its doors. There's usually free wine and cheese and you can talk to the artists (and maybe buy their work!).
