Best event space in the area too with good food offerings (burger and pizza are solid!) so they've got you covered for kid/adult bdays or company events. Also...multiple beers on the "tap wall"! Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after a hike to check this place out. In all my years of living in SJ, I have never heard of The Plex. Maybe it's because I don't have kids yet? Not sure. But anyway, this place is not only for the little kids but for the big kids too! There is a separate bar and food area so my friends and I spent some time there. My girlfriends ordered the following -- 6 Piece Chicken Wings ($12.95) 1 Mule Flight ($21.00) 2 Flights Vodka ($20.00) 1 Loaded Tater Tots ($10.95) 1 Geisha Girl Roll ($17.95) I will also note there was a 17% Service Charge added to our bill for 4 people. The food was actually really tasty considering it's such a big enterprise. Normally, the bigger entertainment establishments (like DnBs, Chuck E Cheese, etc.) do not put out great food from the kitchen. I was surprised how perfect the Geisha Girl Roll was with the freshness in fish and the vibrant colors from the presentation. The loaded tater tots and chicken wings were also good. The Plex is awesome!!! We've had two events here, our Pivotal Staff Retreat and Pivotal Scholar Holiday Party. Each time, our staff and guests are amazed by the Plex's service, thoughtfulness, and ability to host such wonderful events. Our staff retreat was hosted in a private room during the workday for 40 people. The Plex usually isn't open during the work day but they let us rent the space and we got to have the entire outside area to ourselves! They also displayed an image on the screens to showcase our retreat and customized our drink tickets. Our scholar holiday party was for about 200 people and the Plex accommodated us perfectly. They had a section just for our party and we're attentive to our needs. They also displayed our logo on the bocce ball court! They have great food (in their food area and catering menus) that offers something for everyone. They're also very keen to any dietary restrictions that people might have. The games are also super fun. They have bocce ball, darts, arcade, and other sports activities. This review is for the birthday parties at the Plex. The booking experience was a huge challenge and consisted of 15+ emails back and forth to confirm a date and time (so start early). This made me super nervous going into the event, since the communication was difficult. However, the day of the party, I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were all super nice and friendly. They were organized and made the check in process really easy. We were let into our room and then when it was time for the activities, one of their employees would come and grab the kids. We choose the nerf tag and the kids had a blast. After, they all got to go to the area with the bounce houses, basketball courts, and rock climbing wall. After, you have the room reserved for an additional 2 hours which was great. The kids could watch movies, eat pizza, and we bought cards for the arcade too. They all had a blast! (Also, there is a bar so adults can grab a beer while the kids party - major win). One thing to note, this is a more do it yourself kind of party place. The staff brings in the food and drinks, but then you need to serve, etc. when we needed drink refills or other supplies, the staff was super friendly and responsive. I've been going to the plex for a very long time since my friend's son was playing roller hockey. Friday nights have become the happening place for my family and a few friends now as our sons are here for roller hockey practice and open skate. Over pandemic, they remodeled and took out 1 rink and took out Hi5 Pizza. The food court now includes Pizza @ The Plex, Sushi Confidential and a bar. The food is alright but Hi5 was much better. They took away the soda fountain and water dispenser. You need to ask the counter for water and pay close to $4 for a soda thats not refillable. If you want water then you have to ask or walk to the other side between rink 1 and rink 2 to get water from the water filling station. They still have many recreational activities such as roller hockey, volleyball, soccer and an area for jump house parties. They took away 1 rink and the renovated areas have bocce balls, bean bags, a small arcade area and a beer wall. They just started happy hour so my friends and I are happy since we are here on Wednesday and Friday for roller hockey practice. The pizza is decent but not great like Hi5 pizza. There is also a gratuity fee of 17% for all orders. Happy hour only applies in the eatery/food court area. The staff are friendly and eatery area is clean The bathroom on the rinks side are decent but the bathrooms on the new area by bocce side are super clean. Friday is like a get2gether for my girlfriends and I while we wait for our boys to have roller hockey practice and open skate ($12/person). Check groupon for discounts! I normally like coming to the plex, however tonight I was denied service and asked to leave, because I was accompanied by a service dog. After leaving the register, I was immediately approached by Jaime, who instead of asking about my dog's status as a service dog, informed me about the no pet policy and asked me to remove him. I mentioned to him he was a service dog, he then insisted to see a certificate or a service dog license. I mentioned to him that this was not ADA compliant he assured me it was and referred me to ROBERT the VP of the plex. this is a terrible representation of ADA compliance. Ordered their espresso martini and they did not disappoint. I was skeptical at first as it was not creamy, something I usually love about espresso martinis, but after one sip I was hooked. Came for Mothers Day with Family. Rented a Bocce court and some of our family members hadn't played. Had so much fun we rented another court. We also had a good time playing pool. The food court has a good selection of food. We also enjoyed the bar and the beer wall. Everything was very clean. Bocce courts were very well maintained. The staff at the food court and bar were very friendly. Johnny was at the activity desk and was very friendly, welcoming, attentive and helpful. Mothers Day is usually a stressful event with the planning, cooking, and cleaning for us. This was a very nice change. It was easy, fun and relaxing. We all had a great time. Wow! What a great place for folk who live in south San Jose. I had no idea this place existed but I'm so glad I had the opportunity to check this place out. This building has all the fun activities for both kids and adults. There's bocce ball, arcade games, indoor roller hockey, and indoor soccer. There's also a small food court with pizza, Flights, and a bar. This is also a great place to watch sports as they have plenty of seating, lots of TV's, and a big projector. Oh my goodness I had such a wonderful Thursday evening. The food was so good and hit the spot. I'm wishing I had some more of the jalapeño pineapple pizza right now, it was so delicious. The avocado rolls and spicy tater tots were a pleasant surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed too! It was so cool that there are 2 indoor soccer fields and 2 indoor roller hockey rinks, along with several corn hole sets, 2 full bocce ball courts, and a stacked arcade. Volleyball open gym here isn't the best. The pros: -Mondays here during the school year tend to be empty so you can play non-stop but there might not be others to play against so come with your own group. The cons: -most expensive open gym at $15 -nets are usually at women's height so if you want to raise it to co-Ed or men's net, you have to do it yourself. Ask the desk for the net crank -the ceiling beams are low and restrict play -when school is out for holiday or summer, it gets crowded with kids and the kids are rude -kids will steal your ball and take it home - not organized. Depending on who's playing, it might be king of the court or two games on, then you're off. You have to call dibs to play next game and ensure people are keeping track of score. This review is for my son's birthday we had this past weekend. We met our party coach *Daniella* and party host *johnny* they were amazing, they were very attentive and made sure to make this day was easy for us parents as possible. I did express to my party coach that I has a few younger kids that weren't going to play soccer and will be playing in the kids corner. She then told me to that we can take those kids to the kids corner and I can either play separately or we will go over my guest list at the end because my time was already ticking. We proceed to go to the kids corner where she told those staff that these 3 specific kids are part of a party and they will be supervised by adult at all times, Brenda acknowledged what was said and said okay. Everything was going well until I had to deal with staff at the kids corner they were very rude and unprofessional after they weren't letting my 4 year old back in the kids corner after using the restroom. I went over to see what worker had a problem so I was able to explain, they stood there and ignored me. I asked again and they ignored me and told me to speak with the supervisor Victor. He was very aggressive and proceeded to tell me that my party coach wasn't able to do that since those kids weren't on my list but as I explained earlier my party coach and I had already discussed that and was going to go over everything once done. Victor told me that I had to play at the kids corner if they didn't play in my soccer party. I understand they were doing their jobs but the fact they were rude, talking aggressively and making my daughter cry feeling a type of way is not okay. I was spending over $1000 dollars for that party , I wasn't going to argue playing $20 if I had too. My daughter wasn't able to go back in the kids corner so my party coach then apologized for the incident and offered to play with my daughter in the field. I was very upset with how the situation was handled and I observed Victor as he went to go tell my party coach more things on the field as she was taking care of my party and playing with my daughter. I let my husband know and he went to ask him what was the issue going on and he explained to my husband a different story. My son's soccer game was cut short by 5-10 mins and both my party coach and party host both apologized again for what happened. As I'm trying to enjoy my sons party and Victor the supervisor came into our party aggressively once again and asked me if I wanted to speak to him and I told him clearly that I'm in the middle of my sons party that I can speak to him after if he wanted. I'm not sure what was going on but I felt very uncomfortable with the entire situation. If it wasn't for Johnny and Daniela it would've been a completely entire experience here at the plex. I also spoke to another supervisor Jaime who was also great like Johnny and Daniela. He was calm and understanding. He tried to make the situation better and definitely made us feel heard. The plex definitely needs to be on top of the staff at the kids corner because we even stayed longer and my son the birthday boy was playing in there with my sister in law and waiting for the rock climbing for 20 mins and each staff kept telling them that they had to wait for another staff member by the time someone was going to help him they said he couldn't because his time was up. My sister in law then argued the situation and was able to have them let my son do the rock climbing but the entire situation was so unnecessary and again unprofessional. I was going to reach out to Isabel the event manager but decided not too because she also caused me some stress from before the party. It was a week and a half before the party and she told me that I had to give a final headcount a week before which ok I understand but not everyone always rsvps on time. I asked Isabel if I was able to add more kids the day of if I need to and she denied me the option and proceeded to say that I had to give my final count the week before. I had to deny 3-4 extra kids that reached out because I was told that I wouldn't have been able to add them to my party. I don't understand this because this is just making the plex lose money. read more

Had a tournament at the plex and this place is super big and clean! There were various food and drink options but we chose pizza for a fast process. The food did take some time to come out for some reason but we were a bit rushed with our schedule. Besides that, the pizza hit the spot that day! Pizzas tasted fresh which is always great. I personally preferred the top right pizza over pineapple on pizza but still good to try. This paired well with the beers we ordered near this place. Additionally, I liked the bar area that was slightly away from the fast casual restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, the food is decent and is not overly expensive with the exception of the sushi. That seemed to be overpriced. In my opinion, I wouldn't come here for the food. We had our schools 8th grade graduation party here. I wasn't part of the planning but the venue was nicely done and there was lots of space for the kids and their families. The food was also surprisingly good which I wasn't expecting. They set up lots of games for the kids like nerf gun capture the flag, tug a war against the parents, pool tables, corn hole, etc. theirs also a bar for the parents. I love how it's not to crowd and you can watch your little one from your seat and or following them around, they have a locked gate so it feels safe. New ownership completely ruined this place. Everything is obscenely expensive- the crowd it attracts now are those people who have craft beer and IPA's as like a personality trait. They put in cornhole things that cost $15 per hour to play. Everything about this place is annoying now. My close friend has played hockey here for years and I used to come watch the games pre-pandemic and it was so chill. I went for the first time since all this updated garbage happened and it just sucks that they ruined a really fun place to try to be trendy and cool and charge people up the wall for things. They managed to gentrify the sportsplex... Also they're so uptight about things that were never a problem before. They tried harassing the hockey players about bringing their own gatorades for games and when a soccer mom tried to bring in drinks and snacks for the team (very normal for kids teams sports) they gave her a hard time.
