I've only been a few times, but The Point bar is one of the most unique and interesting establishments you could visit. The " mixologists " aka bartenders are magicians with how they prepare the drinks behind the huge wraparound bar. The stock of Bourbons and other fine spirits are extensive. By far more brands than you'll ever see in one tavern. The live music is a great bonus. Excellent atmosphere even though finding the place takes a bit of work. it's located in a parking lot a bit away from most activity in Prescott..But once you find it, you won't be disappointed ! read more

My girlfriend and I make sure we stop into The Point at least once every trip we're in town. Definitely has the speakeasy vibe. Weekends they have bands, which have been pretty darn good! My girlfriend and I like their ginger, basil martini.!! the guys tend to lean towards the whiskeys. They have this cool machine that frost glasses for certain drinks. I was wrong. Dear lord forgive thee! I was wrong. This place is the real deal. It's really good when it's not warm and uncomfortable in there. I did try the house margarita and it was very average-like an after thought ( very similar to La Planchada's basic margarita ), but " The Basic Bitch " and " The Aztec" were very tasty. I also tried the " Spaghetti Western" but I can't do Mezcal, I forgot about that unpleasant smoky taste to that particular liquor. The bartender was nice enough to offer to take off my bill, but didn't seem right as I bravely drank half of it and said, no, I want to pay for it. The Paloma Rosa was nice, refreshing. Wish they could make better margaritas though. I'll be back to try different drinks soon. The band playing was very average for a Sat night, there's so much better musical talent in this town to have a cruise ship generic band like last night. This is the go to spot on Whiskey Row in Prescott AZ. Being from CA you kinda get geeked out by the local history of Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday. A speakeasy vibe with top tiered whiskey. Every time I come to Prescott I always make sure I come here! It's like most speakeasy's, at first it can be difficult to find and looks scary from the outside. The Mrs. and I stopped by the Point Bar & Lounge last night for a drink. We were staying at the Hassayampa Inn and it was just a short walk from our location. The Point Bar and Lounge is located on Montezuma Street(aka Whiskey Row). You'll see the sign when you walk up to it and just follow the stairs. DO NOT try to go through the first door you come to on your right. Keep walking all the way to the back which is the main entrance. The Point Bar and Lounge is old school in ever way. Teak wood paneling on the ceiling and part of the bar. The bar top was illuminated from underneath so I can only assume it was made of travertine. The seating is a combination of low and hightop tables, leather chairs and green velvet. The bartenders wore black and were dressed nicely and the cocktail waitresses wore long dresses. We arrived around 5:30 and were able to find a seat. The place was already busy and was getting busier as time went on. Our waitress, Brook, arrived to take our order. The Mrs. ordered her usual martini and I ordered my usual Maker's Mark Manhattan. The bartender made me what is known as a dry Manhattan. Meaning, a Manhattan made with dry vermouth. It wasn't what I'm used to but it was still very good and very smooth. I had two and didn't feel a thing. The crowd was a solid mix of old and young. This small dark bar is great with excellent service and cozy atmospheres sphere. The mixologists are very very good. They make their own bitters for a definite flare in their cocktails. The Point was one of the must-see places we had on our list to try while visiting Prescott. It did not disappoint. The place has a big speakeasy feel, with the unmarked door on the back of the building, moody lighting and a large selection of mixed drinks. The service was great and our mixologist was friendly and knowledgeable. The drinks were 10/10 - we tried the Paloma Rosa and the Sucker Punch which was delicious. This is definitely a night bar, if it's daylight and you go into that bar, you almost feel like it's night you can't see anything. My girlfriend and I came to Prescott right after Thanksgiving to check out Arizona's Christmas town while we had the chance and found a cocktail tour, https://prescottcocktailtour.com, which brought us here (if you're in the area the cocktail tour is worth it hands down- Scott (and his wife if she's free) will show you a lovely time to places you might not know exist- such as this place. My girlfriend and I never would have found this speakeasy if it wasn't on the tour, it wasn't on our radar at all when we were browsing. We had a table for the four of us and the manager came by and introduced himself. Ledge has it the building contract is written where this manager must be the manager of whatever establishment is operating here. He certainly knows the building and gave us a quick history. The ambiance is very speakeasy. There are two different entrances but the one towards the front of the building is sometimes locked, like it was tonight, so we had to go around to the back of the building. Both doors do not display a name add to the mystery. Once you walk in, which is the basement of the building, the dark tones and dim lights give the speakeasy vibe, along with the padded chairs. It feels very classy, upscale, and hidden. We were told they have live music fairly frequently. We all ordered our drinks and my girlfriend and I honestly say they made the best old fashion we've had in a very very long time. All of our drinks were perfect. This is simply a must try and when we return to Prescott we will be returning to this establishment as well for the best old fashions we found during our stay. read more

Probably the best "hidden" gem in Downtown Prescott, and I do mean hidden! The Point reminds me of an old Speak Easy, it is stylish but not pretentious, has a dark cool vibe, and the music isn't too loud making conversation easy. It is a good speakeasy with a large drink selection, but after trying several drinks I was underwhelmed. The space and some of the bands that play there are good, but the drinks are mediocre and they never change the drink menu. There are several new coctail lounges that recently opened in Prescott and although not all speakeasy's, and the drink list smaller, the drinks are far better. read more
