Adorable house restaurant in Prescott! It was a beautiful fall day. After a hike we were ready to eat some lunch. We sat outside in front of the house. it was perfect. I started with a glass of wine. For lunch, I ordered their beet salad and the kids wanted chicken tenders. The fries were so good!!! My salad was ok. I felt like the beets needed more flavor and I didn't love the hazelnuts in this salad. I will definitely return and try something different on their menu next time.

We went to this place for sunday brunch and were able to snag a table with some shade. The patio was full 5 minutes after opening. We were in a group of 4 and brought along our corgi, George. Service was good and the place filled up quickly. I was a bit surprised when I saw their beverage menu, as with a name like 'Barley Hound' you might imagine they have a decent selection of beers. They do not. They had 2 lagers and a hazy IPA. They also say they have rotating taps, but not available when we visited. They do have some interesting cocktails which were well received. I ordered the 'Merica burger and my wife ordered the Duck burger. Wife did like the duck burger (which actually is a mix of duck and ground beef). We also ordered the dog beef which comes on a frisbee and consists of rice and ground beef. My 'Merica burger was ordered medium rare and came to me fully cooked but I was so hungry I could not handle waiting another 15 minutes so I ate it. I will say that my fries were also overcooked and black, not sure if its older oil or the potatoes were not in great shape. As I write this, I wonder why I did not send it right back, but I think I just decided to suck it up and enjoy the company and the day. Poor George got his meal a bit later and was in a bowl, not a frisbee and was the stingiest portion of food I have ever seen in my life. It was maybe 3 tiny bits of beef and 2 teaspoons of rice. For $8. At this point, they are just taking liberties with peoples trust. (And yes, I wanted to put something else there) You may get decent food here. You may not. If you get something that is not to your liking, tell them and they will take care of you hopefully. Its busy and has a nice menu, but I feel the prices are a bit much for Prescott and its clearly targeting tourists from elsewhere.

Such a lovely place! My companion started with a cosmo- it was refreshing and fruity and not overly sweet. For dinner we had beef stew and duck fat fries. They were kind enough to split the stew two ways. The stew, made with their short rib, could have had had a little more seasoning but it was very pleasant. Our bellies were delightfully full, so we took the flourless chocolate cake to go- when we ate it later it was like eating a truffle. Our server Adelle was very friendly as well.

We ended up at the Barley hound because of JD's grill being so full and over an hour. Wait we were seated instantly with the party of eight and food was delicious. Drinks were impeccable. The server did a great job with the place being so full. Definitely a fun experience will be back..

Foofy menu. With a large group. We sat on the patio. There was a fire pit and they provided blankets for those dining outside. It was 56 degrees! Brrrr. Service for the most part as good, but my hubby's condiments never arrived, so he didn't eat. Took awhile to get our tabs and neither of us were impressed with the food.

The place was great!! The burger was delicious but the fish sandwich was regrettable too soggy for me. They have a dog menu and they serve it on frisbees; our dogs love it. Go there, have a drink and take your dogs

The waitress was great, her service was wonderful ! The food was rich in flavor and shareable portions. Cute interior and the outside is a great set up! It was cold out so my minor daughter and I sat inside, and unfortunately, the heavy smell of marijuana and marijuana smoke coming from the men in the kitchen really ruined the vibe! I came home and my sweater smelled like weed smoke. I might come back, if I do, I'll make sure it's warm and I'll sit outside!

Very nice food: duck burger and duck fat fries are delicious... The bread pudding is a special treat too. Great cocktails (w or w/o alcohol)!! Nice service thks!! Ambiance OK.

The mushroom bisque, farm crab cakes and the steak tacos were ordered. The mushroom bisque was good and wished we had all ordered that instead. The steak tacos were on cold tortillas. The crab cakes were pretty bland and not worth $20. The waitress didn't check up on us again until we were done and came to refill my ice tea one time but halfway. We were excited to try this place but sadly it seems like we came on a bad day. I will say that the hostess was super bubbly and nice we loved how welcoming she was. The inside of the restaurant was pretty and loved how small it was.

Here at COLT Grill I had The Filly, a salad the menu described as "romaine, walnuts, pears, cranberries, bleu cheese crumbles, cranberry vinaigrette". I opted for the "small" ($8.50) over the" large" ($13) and it was a beautiful salad both in presentation and taste. But the salad portion of the menu also said one could "add chicken or smoked turkey" ($4) or "add beef brisket" ($5) and I did. Did you just tell me I could get a perfect, tasty, ample salad with a separate, robust and delicious side of BBQ beef brisket for $13.50? I wasn't just ready to fly to Arizona; I was ready to move to Cottonwood. This meal was delicious. A "small platter of smoked brisket" ($14.50) was enjoyed equally by another at my table but, with my bowlful of brisket, I paid little attention to that other meal. My attention instead was aimed at a nearby table's indulgence in the smoked Mac-n-cheese ($4.75) and Cheesy Jalapeño Corn Bread ($4). Jealous I was, for I had no room for anything more. What a winner. COLT Grill might be half the reason I return to this area in the future.
