I see that the Bear Paddle Swim School is under construction, Rock Star Nails recently opened and one of my faves, Barnes & Noble, continues to do well here. For the last year, I visit Village Crossing several times a week. You would be amazed at the amount of cars here before the crack of dawn! I mean, you may be sleeping, but I and other workout fanatics, stockroom workers, cleaners, vampires, are all here before the sun rises.

I've shopped here for nearly 25 years, and it's always had a healthy mix of shops. There are a few…read moremajor retailers: Dick's Sporting Goods, FiveBelow, Barnes & Noble, Michael's, OfficeMax, PetSmart, Jewel, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Ulta Beauty, and an AMC Movie Theaters that's in a weird place around the back. There are also some small boutiques that I love--the Half Price Books is a terrific store where I always get good deals on hard to find books and rare CDs. The food options are good and well-placed, for what is essentially a series of wonkily-positioned strip malls. You won't go hungry at this shopping center. There are a bunch of fast food places clustered in the north-east section of the shopping center (Panda Express, Corner Bakery, and a Penn Station East Coast Subs), a few on the north-west side (Subway, Jersey Mike's), and sit down, stand-alone restaurants that ring the parking lot (Chili's and Outback Steakhouse). Near the AMC Movie Theater, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings, Village Roadhouse, and a Red Robin. I still have nostalgia for the huge CompUSA that used to be here. It's where I bought my first "real" computer--the Bondi Blue iMac in 1998. I also miss the Pier 1 that closed back in early 2000 (the sign is still currently up). If you're taking public transit from the city, catch the Pace 290 from the Howard Station of the Red Line, and it'll drop you across the street from the mall. If you're driving, good luck--this mall has a reputation for the roads and parking lots in front being oddly placed. I think there's also a parking garage for the AMC Movie Theater, too.

Parking isn't cheap here but with validation it isn't super unreasonable either. The shop selection definitely leans towards more fun activities like movies, cafes, higher end shopping, furniture, jewelery, and higher end restaurants. In particular, the only Canadian based Earls location in Chicago is located here. With nice landscaping, wide roads, places to sit around, plenty of parking, and nice looking exteriors to the shops, this is really a nice area to hang out and relax in a spot that feels more like a suburban shopping center. This will be a place I definitely come back to in the future when hanging out with friends in the area.

I highly recommend both establishments! This shopping center is quiet and calm. It's a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It also boasts a Dick's Sporting Goods, AMC movie theater, Mariano's grocery store, Off Sack's Fifth Avenue, among other shops. This is a great shopping center and I look forward to coming back. Especially the Floral department where they expect you to be always working every single second of the day even if there is nothing you can do. Produce is treated like shit. Deli and Meat Market get a bit more respect but when you're treated like shit you're still treated like shit. Home Shopping is dealing with crap left right and center from just about every department up their ass with orders. The hours are a nightmare and they tend to screw you over with your shifts. One day it's like 9am to 5pm the next day it's 3pm to 12am and the next day it's 4am to 12pm. They do nothing about shoplifting or worse people complaining about the prices only for the manager to give them what they want even though they will complain about your sales being too low. You are paid minimum wage with no health insurance or benefits for being overworked like animals and the "exclusive" worker discount are a joke. You don't even get a discount on FUCKING MILK! As a worker do not support this place until they learn to treat their workers better. Not to mention that even with inflation the deals are terrible. Like I believe as of right now there is a sale on chips buy 3 get 2 free (idk my department mostly stays in one place) but the chip bag sizes are a THIRD of what they used to be and the prices are absurd. The meat especially is a joke they are small cuts with huge chunks of fat poorly trimmed and often leak meat juice out of them. The produce is the worst part as everything is either rotting, looks like it's going bad, too small, or even a combination of all three. Want my advice go to Sam's Club and buy your groceries in bulk or even Mariano's since this place is owned by Ebenezer Scrooge.

It's been over a decade since I've been to this mall so I was very excited to return. Thankfully, the parking garage was right next to the mall, so it was a short walk to the entrance. The outdoor mall was extremely clean and absolutely beautiful. We browsed in and out of a few different stores and everyone was very nice and attentive. The one store that caught our attention was Laderach, which was a Swiss chocolate store. We were able to sample truffles and chocolate bars and it was probably the best tasting chocolate we've ever had. We also stopped in to Coach and I ended up buying my daughter a cute, Coach bag. With stores like Zara, Fabletics, Alo, Louis Vuitton and Nordstrom, you truly get a great, shopping experience at this mall; there's something here for everyone. There's also ample seating as well. If you're in the Chicagoland area, this is definitely the mall to visit. You will not be disappointed!

Sort of a mish mash of eras - everything from early 1900's, to 1950's, to a wacky freaking primary coloured bar stool set from the 1980's. Prices aren't cheap, but fair for what the piece is and the condition. I didnt buy anything this time, but I will be back for a second look.
