It's really only two things going on in here for me The landmark Century movie theater which is great And the LA Fitness gym where I go . Aside from the Landmark Theatre, there's not much to this place. Express stores (women and men), Vicky's Secret, a big Aveda, and then some assorted businesses like LA Tan and Weight Watchers . It has GREAT handicapped access: huge, wide ramps go up to every floor. That was the one thing I noticed that seemed outstanding about this place and its layout. Parking really sucks (but what else is new in Chicago?) The big draw is clearly the theater. Anything else you can get somewhere else. read more

This vertical shopping mall includes numerous shops, a Bally's health club, and also plays a selection of movies with an artsy bent. Take the elevator up and walk down the semi-continuous ramp connecting all the levels. Sure all the signs on the outside are an artistic compromise upon the ornate details, but it's better than some of the crappy box buildings going up in the city. read more

There's almost no stores in this mall and the stores that are open have inventory. To make matters even more dismal, the ramps were sectioned off with caution tape so they were completely inaccessible. And the basement, which is totally viewable from the first floor, looks like it's an abandoned construction project. The basement was gutted but it doesn't look like anyone has done anything since. This mall is a perfect example of why malls in cities are not good ideas. Malls are failing across America and this one is just bad. I won't recommend for you to stop in because there's not much to see. read more

To this shopping center, on a cold winter's day in early 2008, the bankers came. Nobody goes here now. This is the Century Shopping Centre on Clark Street in Chicago. The day the bankers came, the stores were gathered together and led away. Some months later, the bankers who led away the stores were themselves led away. The stores never came back to the Century. Its shell stands as a memorial and a monument to a dead Century as well as thousands upon thousands of other pieces of real estate which have been foreclosed on or sit vacant after a worldwide real estate bust. All that's really left is an art house movie theater, which isn't too shabby. read more

This review is reserved for the Century Shopping Centre Parking Garage. We stayed at the Days Inn behind the shopping mall and opted for the parking garage because it appeared to be cheaper than the valet parking the hotel offered. Well, I could go on and on ranting and raving about how awful this parking garage is, but it would be filled with expletives. Instead let me show you with numbers. According to Century Shopping Centre Math: 18+5=36 You might be confused, and so was I. But we were overcharged for our stay, and to add insult to injury the automated machine charged us an extra $9 for taking more than 15 minutes to leave the parking garage. This was due to the enormous line of cars, not to our laziness. The worst part is that since everything is automated, there's no one to argue with! No one to hear our plea. read more

Our most recent visit was a quick in and out to make quick use of the restroom!. It was a couple of years since our last visit. I was in complete and utter shock with this visit as there is nothing really left here at all! I don't ever remember this shopping center ever being quite at capacity, but this is ridiculous! The anchor is still the theater which is on the top floor! Other than the theater all I remember is the gym, Hertz and the Victoria's Secret. There may have been a store or two elsewhere in the center somewhere. I check out the theater listings here to see what catches my eye but that is the only reason to get me here! read more

Really, I only frequent one place in this whole building, and that's the Express Men's on the 3rd floor. However, that alone is worth a review of it's own. For as long as I can remember, I've always had a problem finding clothes that fit. Jeans, t-shirts, whatever, it would always look weird. Then I discovered Express. More specifically, I discovered this one. The clothes are simple, fashionable, and well made. Most importantly, if you're a smart shopper, you can get crazy deals on some of the stuff. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, here's my list of purchases in the last two days: six polos, two shorts, a pair of jeans, and a shirt. Total price: $220. On top of that, I picked up four sets of coupons for $25 off a $50 purchase. So, I can spend $200, and pay $100. How baller is that? The staff here is super helpful, and it's a great place if you're looking for clothes that you can wear from your office to your apartment to your bar and not change once. read more

Ah the modern conveniences of living in a big city. A small mall just three blocks from my apt! In this baby-sized mall we have: Bath & Body Works Express Men & Women Aveda Bally's L.A. Tan Weight Watchers Victoria's Secret Movie Theatre Laser Center of America and a few odd shops Other than the B&BW I think most of these shops are wee versions of themselves but they still have a decent variety. There's always a little old lady or man manning the front desk and reminds me of the malls down south. It's clean, convenient and in a pinch works great for getting all dolled up for Saturday night in a jiffy! read more

This place feels unpleasant to me. The theater always feels crowded. There are a lot of empty, dark stores, in fact they outnumber the inhabited ones. The Bath and Body store gives me a headache- but at least it is clean. The Victoria's Secret is stained, filthy dirty and the staff is really as unpleasant as retail can get away with. Express is perpetually disorganized and overpriced. There used to be a food place downstairs- but I stopped going after seeing gnats in the ciabatta. Sad, sad, sad. read more

Got most of my Christmas shopping here as I only had a handful of gifts. Main shops in this shopping mall include Express for Women and Men, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret and Century Landmark Theater which always plays a wide selection of independent films. There is also a physical therapist, L.A. Tan, Weight Watchers, Bally's, an art gallery and a few lotion and cosmetic shops. I have never found this shopping mall all too appealing and they completely lack any sort of food of any kind. There is a parking lot nearby so it's convenient in inclement weather. There are elevators and ramps for the disabled as well as escalators for the lazy. All in all an average mall, but nothing that is a tremendous draw. read more

Bury this mall; it's been dead for a long time. I remember shopping here at a bunch of cool stores and kiosks in the past, but it's been a long time since there were enough stores here to do anything that resemble shopping. There's a Victoria's Secret and maybe a couple other stores, but mostly it's a movie theatre, an LA Fitness and a salon. Not even a food court, that is roped off and abandoned. Unless you're coming to see a movie or get your hair done (or buy overpriced underwear), there's no reason to come here at all anymore. Sad really. read more

Eh. I wouldn't really call this a mall or shopping centre, but it's a pretty good, though small, collection of stores. You can kill a few birds with one stone when you come here. Hit Bally's and your Weight Watchers meeting, tan and get a haircut at Aveda or grab some food at Eatzi's and then see a movie (they show mostly independants) at the theatre. They do have an Express, Express Men, Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Body works, but those are the only major mall stores. I think there is also a game store, luggage store, and electronics store, but they always seem to be going out of business. ------ I just heard Eatzi's closed as well. The words "Shopping Centre" are a vast overstatement for this place. I'm a shopaholic girl living three blocks away from this alleged "Shopping Centre," and I NEVER shop here. The disclaimer is that the indie movie theatre here is cooland I can't knock it. But movie theater does not = shopping centre. There are exactly three stores I would shop at here: Express, Bath and Body Works, and Victoria's Secret. Both the Express and the Victoria's Secret are the worst specimens of those stores I've ever seen. Disorganized, trashy, cheap product, pushy salespeople. So that leaves Bath and Body Works, so I guess if you like that store, it might be worth a short trip. read more

I probably see a movie at this theater once every 2 years and last night was one of these nights. This is just an OK movie theater...they don't seem to have the best selection of movies, but it's much better than some of the other theaters in Chicago and it's conveniently located near many great restaurants in Lincoln Park. If I had my choice I would drive all the way downtown to the AMC River East Theater, which is much nicer! I did notice Eatzi's downstairs, which has received many great review on Yelp. I'll have to try that next time I go to this theater because I looked pretty good! read more

I found the Express here to be very helpful, and they had a great deal on their work shirts (buy three for $24 each!) so I was really happy with what I got. Also there was a sweater vest I really wanted and the only one in my size left was on the mannequin, and the associate took the time to take the model apart and peel it off of it! And she did it all with a friendly demeanor, no grumbling! If I need to get more things from Express I will probably go back to this location. The only con about the Express: They had blocked off one of the changing rooms with wire racks so that they only had one open and could monitor it properly. It was a bit of an eyesore. As far as the rest of the mall, I didn't explore it because I saw the names of the shops and none of them really interested me. read more

Listen, it's not the greatest mall or anything, but it's fine. Most of the stores inside are smaller than their Michigan Avenue counterparts, but for the essentials they're fine. Mostly I'm there for the Aveda Institute and the movie theater. Some stores validate parking in the attached garage. read more

I like going to this place for the convenience of its location. It's in a pretty good area because there are tons of restaurants and stores all around. The mall itself doesn't have too many stores, but it at least has VS, Bath & Body Works, and Express. I really like this VS; it seems to have some items that other VS locations don't have. The workers here are always super sweet and helpful. And the same can be said for this Bath & Body Works location. read more

Clearly, the Century is in major transition. For everyone's sake, I hope it's for the good but, right now, it's seriously depressing. When I hit the Landmark Saturday, it had been less than two months since my last visit. I'd hoped to hit Bath & Body Works and Victoria's Secret before the show. Imagine my surprise to find Bath & Body closed (CVS coming) and the Victoria's Secret visit fruitless. (Seriously, VS, some of us still like simple solid cotton briefs.) In short, unless you're hitting the Landmark, there's nothing else on offer here. One word about the theater: Yes, the prices are high, so buy a discount book at the box office. At $43 for 4 shows, it's cheaper than a matinee. For some reason, though, this deal is only offered at the box office, not online. Hopefully, someone with vision will invest in this place. Looking down into the bowels of what used to be Eatzi, I envisioned a fabulous lounge, much like the one at the movie complex in Evanston - bites, cocktails, draft craft beer, live jazz. Nice place for pre-/post-show drinks, and a nice alternative from the area's overload of sports/frat bars. read more

Living just mere block from this "mall" I am so dissapointed about what oppotunity it has to be a cash cow but currently it is definitely lacking to say the least. I rarely go here unless I happen to be there already getting my hair done at Aveda. It is so empy in here it is almost depressing. I mean put a Forever 21 and H & M (maybe a foodlife too!) in here and this place would be thriving with all the young people around here. Well, it seems that over half the stores here are gone or going out of business. Sure, they are putting in a CVS, but with several CVS within walking distance, that does not make much sense. There is a theater here too, which many people seem to forget about, so you can probably catch a flick with out all the crowds. How does this mall still attract people to it. Ok i get that it has the theatre and bally's, but since its hey day in the late 80's early 90's this place has become just as bad as golf mill and it has less shops to boot. In its fourth incarnation, I think the only original store in there is arcadia... I try to avoid this place as much as possible especially as expensive as the parking is. This whole neighborhood is kinda jacked up I mean how can this mall not be more successful. With as many shops as have come through here you'd think they put term limits on leases. And just as a side note, why the hell do you need that giant ass vitamin shop place where the coconuts used to be on the corner... talk about redundant. retailers have such limited imaginations. read more

I've been going here since the 80's. I wonder how this mall is still running and surprised that some mogul hasn't bought it to make Condos. But anyway, my only business here is the movie theater. It the closest movie theater to my house that plays my indie flicks. The elevators are always slow and the shops are sort of boring but that's just my opinion. The only redeeming quality of this "mall" is the Landmark Theater that occupies the top floors. Otherwise, it's a deserted and somewhat sad place with dark storefronts and an empty foodcourt. It's kind of surprising that in such a densely populated area with tons of stores doing well on the street that this place is so dead. read more

It's like a poor man's version of a mall. For me its perfect because Express for Men is here and I love shopping there. Otherwise there isnt much to this place, at one point apparently there was a food court call Eatzi's but all that is left is skeletal remains and boarded up doors from the outside. Express itself is cheap but casual looking clothing. Recently they took their graphic tees into the gaudy region adding gold paint, jewels, and other awful things I wont get into. If you need somewhere to pick up a quick shirt before you go out though this isn't a bad option. read more

I've been coming to the Century for years. Have seen stores like contempo and cignal come and go....It has changed a lot over the years, and they are constantly trying to improve it. Its not this huge mall, but its a great place to shop if you know of the stores in there. My favorite is the movie theater. read more

This mall was made out of an old movie palace back in the 70's, a few years before I moved to Chicago. Then, more recently, the top two levels of stores were stripped off and the Century theaters were added in their place, so it's now sort of a movie house again. The Guggenhiem style ramp arrangement is fun to walk around. However, the place has had a bad history of keeping tenants during the 26 years I have lived in Chicago and I rarely find anything interesting to purchase here. I think it might do better dumping all chain outlets and becoming strictly a boutique mall. Frankly, the big box stores in the newer development across the street seem more useful. read more

I didnt know what to think the first time I walked into here. It went down hill over the years ever since the food court downstairs closed down. Its like a ghost town now... The movie theather is the only thing that is keeping the doors open. It reminds me so much of Chicago Place Mall in many ways. It was fine years ago but slower it gets worse. They have been rebuilding/remodeling this mall for what seems like the past 8 years, so now that it's finished and doesn't feel like a parking garage, that's a step in the right direction. They still can't seem to fill all of the vacant stores though. Very boring, typical mall stores but not even that many of them. All escalators only go up, not down. The one bright spot in this bleak building is the movie theater, which is one of the best in the city. read more

This is a very nice little mall in Lincoln Park. None of the big department stores, but a lot of the smaller chains you'll find in many other malls. There's also a nice theater here and also a great salon. The only problem I have here is parking is a pain to find. And if you park in the structure, you have to pay! read more

A pretty good shopping center. I really only come here for the Landmark theater. I used to live nearby and joined Bally's (what a mess). There are a few nice shops - Express for Men, a nice luggage store and a cool game store too. The layout is very un-traditional. There are lots of winding, inclined paths that lead you to the top floor where the theater is. I sometimes just take the elevator to skip the long trek to the top. Eatzi's is pretty great but very expensive. A friend I hadn't seen in a long time was visiting and we went here before seeing a movie. We got a bottle of white wine and a couple of sandwiches. It was pretty cool since we sneaked in the wine to the movie! Shhh! read more

I work out at the Bally's here so I am in and out all of the time! I go to the Express here sometimes, which does not have a very big selection. There is a movie theatre which is nice except they don't have a lot of the mainstream films, more Independant. There is a Victoria's Secrets and Bath and Body. They also just built a cafe/food court type deal in the basement of the mall which has great salads, breads and cheeses! read more

An interesting smaller sized mall in the heart of the city. It has changed quite a bit over the years. It seems to be undergoing changes for the past several years....almost too long of a time. There's an express, bath and body works, aveda, now the new Eatzi's which I havent tried yet. I recommend the movie theater here though, because they play a lot of foreign and artsy films you cant see elsewhere. read more
