I gave the guys at "The Point" 5-stars because it's everything you should expect in a skate shop. Massive deck selection, and some obscure one's you don't expect small shops to carry. (That Philosopher's Hand will be mines)....Their in-house bowl is incredible, and I will definitely head up there on a Thursday night soon to catch some bowl time on "old guys night". I mean, who has an indoor bowl ? ? Nate knows the products he carries and the prices are well more than fair. Especially considering he's carrying hard to get accessories like various bushings, bearings, hardware etc. I can't imagine something you'd need, that The Point doesn't have. Given that everyone on earth competes with Amaz'gone it's important for people to recognize the amount of emotional investment these shops pour into their passion. It's tough to be a small business, and the skate community should always shop local. Skateboarding was BUILT on the backs of small groups of guys who just "get it"... Even though I live in Kaufman County, I'll happily make the trek to Allen to spend more time at The Point. read more

The staff were great but the one sales rep was so helpful (I forget his name) we went through several decks, coached me on different trucks and pads, I already knew the bearings and wheels I wanted. But I still had to put the kit together. He recommended a dual clear and black grip tape. Provided stickers for me and we just put it all together on the spot. Just like the skateboard shop of my youth. Super nice guys and if you're into bowl skating they have one in the shop. Super cool place and lots of gear to choose from. read more

These guys always take the time to take care of their customers. They don't rush or make you feel any less important whether you're a 10 year old new to skateboarding or a 40 year old mom who wouldn't know a Kick Flip from an Ollie even if Tony Hawk patiently explained the difference. The Point is a full service skate shop with one of the best selections for Skateboards and Clothing in town. The service is impeccable and and their location is great with many places to eat and hangout while my kids skate their indoor skatepark. Working with kids is where they truly excel. They offer skate lessons, spring break camps, and summer camps to help my kids reach the next level in what they love. If you want something that they guys do not have Daniel, Drew, and Nate will be happy to special order anything and get it to you in a timely manner. I believe in supporting the local guy instead of ordering online and sometimes that means a smaller choice, but not at The Point! The Point Skate Shop might be one of the greatest skate shop's I have ever been to. I am 11 years old, and have been skating for 7 years, and have gone to a lot of skate shops, but no-one beats this one.They have great customer service, and everyone is super nice. The best seller there is Saille, or BIG BABY as they call him. He was super nice, and let me try out everything before I bought it. Thy aren't pushy or anything like that. It has a super chill atmosphere, and any time I mess up a trick, they always encourage me to do it again. If you don't like it, they always have another option. They have top of the line equipment. They don't sell completes that break in like, a day. They also sell there own boards, which is super nice. If you skate there boards, you can skate in the bowl for free. They also offer skate lessons, so you can get more comfortable on your board. One, odd and kinda quirky thing that they do, is you can just walk in, grab there i pad, and just change their music playlist. The bowl is top of the line. The shop is relativity small, but packs in A LOT of stuff. The have a massive board selection. They have Element, Creature, The Point, etc... They sell Shake Junt, and MOB grip. They have Spitfire, Oj's, and Bones wheels. They have Independent trucks, Thunder, and many others. They have Pro-tec, and 187 killer pads. They also have a wide selection of shoes as well, not to mention the whole front of the store sells shirts and shorts, and hats. They can answer virtually any skate question you have. My brother, who is only 7 years old, asks and a TON of questions, it took him at least 2 HOURS to get his board and grip. Saille didn't grow impatient with him at all. They are also super kid friendly, and they lead them in the right direction, since skateboarding can lead you in the wrong direction. They recently just opened The Point Skate Shop in Deep Ellum Dallas, Texas. The one in Deep Ellum is essentially the same thing, so I won't expand on it. Eduardo and Bill were such a big help when I came in on Sunday afternoon. I was having so much trouble getting my skateboard assembled the day before. I came in and Eduardo was able to hook me up! Hands down one of my favorite places to come in North Dallas. Bailey the manager is super amazingly nice. In fact all the guys are. It's not a too cool environment like so many skate shops. These guys are willing to help and just want to see you get better. I love Eduardo our instructor and will be taking lessons once a week forever with him with my daughter and take turns . She's way better than me though, 38 isn't what I used to be! Ha! We come for free skate once a week as well and hang out for a bit. We happily drive the 30 minutes it takes to get here. Austin is like their communications guy and he is super responsive for any questions or last minute lesson changes etc, I love him too. They are just GREAT GUYS! We plan to come spend money here for a long long time. I can't say the same for their deep Ellum location it's not as kid friendly but there are a few good guys over there too. Andrew Powers is a sweetheart. He put together the nicest board for me. And now the guys here set my daughters deck up with Independent trucks, reds and spitfire wheels and it's a whole new board! The young man that assisted me was extremely nice and helpful. He showed me around the facility even know I would not be using it.
