Breakfast buffet: made to order omelettes, bacon, sausage, cheesy hash browns, toasts, bagels, croissants, mini jellies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, pastries, sliced fruit, yogurt parfaits, individual yogurt, 5 types of cereal and oatmeal. So, this will be a mixed review. My kids and I sat down at a table. My kids said "Hey Mom, there's a bug in this glass." I look in the clear water glass and it has a live spider in it. I should have taken a picture for you. So, based on cleanliness of this place- pass it up! read more

Very disappointed, This was the first time eating at a restaurant for Thanksgiving. Expected a great experience. The ambiance was lovely, but the tiny table too small for a Thanksgiving dinner. There was no dinner roll?!! The butternut squash soup had a good flavor but was served lukewarm, not sure if that was intentional? Should be hot. No gravy served, had to ask for it. Mashed potatoes & stuffing servings too small, Again, everything on the main dish was luke warm as if plates were prepared ahead & waiting to take to tables. The turkey was both white & dark meat, which is ok, but the dark meat was not "cleaned up". I had to pick out bones, fat, soggy skin. The staff seemed like inexperienced temps. Our dessert was brought out, made the rounds of tables & returned to kitchen 3 times before it was brought out to the right table. Won't be back. read more

Food was pretty good and so was the service. Came here on a Saturday and got seated within seconds of arriving, food came out very quickly, granted we just ordered a Turkey club with an extra side of fries. The fries were really good, and the sandwich tasted fresh but was heavy on the meat side which we liked but I know some people might not be fans. The only negative I suppose is some of the furniture might feel a little retro but you're dining in an atrium in Charlottesville, not DC. Once i was able to track someone down to place an order (took 15 minutes before i even saw anyone), they charged $12 for MAYBE 1 ounce of whiskey and the pesto chicken sandwich was not good. Chicken was dry as... drywall. I swear they just over-microwaved some store-bought pre-cooked chicken. Very little seasoning on the sandwich or the fries and they gave my to-go order with a teeny-weeny plastic fork and about 2 square inches of napkin. considering the prices at this hotel... man y'all gotta do better! read more

I ordered the crab bisque and a side of asparagus while my friend ordered the crab cake salad. They were all very good as the crab bisque was not too salty. I love soup but am usually wary about the saltiness of the soup when I eat out, as many restaurants tend to put too much salt in their soup. I asked our very attentive waitress to check with the chef on the saltiness level before she placed the order, and she responded that it should not be very salty according to the chef. I was happy with my soup and my friend was happy with her crab cake salad as well. We each ordered the local ice cream as our dessert (I ordered chocolate and my friend ordered raspberry) and wished we had ordered one to share instead as they gave us 3 big scoops of ice cream in our bowl! I felt bad that we couldn't finish it and so much of the yummy ice cream went to waste! read more

We came based on reviews and were very disappointed. Located in the Omni hotel, the food was very average at best. All our dishes were luke warm. The ravioli was either undercooked or al dente- not really sure. And it was over-priced given the portion size. The Mahi mahi on special and shrimp and grits were better portions, but still not hot. Even the soup was not hot. Given the descriptions of the restaurant and prices, one might expect table clothes. The bright spots were our server and the quick delivery of our food. Despite the negative comments here, the meal was fine. Fine, but not great. And not worth the price. read more

I was staying here over the weekend for my best friend's wedding. The morning of, my sister and I were looking for a brunch spot. We decided on the hotel restaurant out of convenience. The buffet had a great variety and they brought out fresh food regularly. There is also an omelet/egg station. I asked for eggs over medium, but the chef suggested duck eggs instead. I had never had duck eggs but he insisted and was sure I'd like them. I agreed and they were delicious! If you get eggs and they have them, ask for the duck eggs. They're large, fresh, and the chef cooked them perfectly. My sister had pancakes and fruit, and she loved her meal. The staff was friendly, attentive and very helpful. We were seated right away on a Saturday, and everything was clean and easily accessible. Definitely a great brunch spot if you're in town. read more

Went here for UVA's graduation weekend but it was not busy at all when I went around 1pm. The food was very good but the service was just awful. We were a party of about 12 and had 2 servers for the table and they just were so disorganized in dividing up the responsibilities. They would take a couple peoples orders and then disappear for 15 minutes and then come back and take one other person's and then disappear again. The food took a long time even though most people for the buffet so it was only like 4 burgers. The mood got better when we got the food because it was very good. The support staff at the Omni are wonderful. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not. Service is slow and Inexperienced. There were four tables and one was finishing up and four staff and we sat and sat waiting for our drink order to be taken. Cocktail was fabulous, cheese tray was really good and then the entrees came. Our chicken was rubbery and over cooked, the artichokes came from a can, the spinach was good, but that's really expensive spinach. The desserts were free and that was too much to pay for them. The key lime pie was chalky and thick and the carrot cake was basically just a carrot muffin. For the price of the food, we expect better. read more

Slavisa is the kindest server ever! My second visit to Charlottesville and he was incredibly kind and remembered me from my summer visit. I hope he is here for my next trip to Charlottesville. The restaurant welcomed me to work at my table for hours, with attentive service throughout. Lots of light and greens in the atrium area, perfect for working remotely. This restaurant is very nice for a date or celebration. Everything is really pretty and romantic. Their food is pretty normal, modern American. I had the filet and my boyfriend got the salmon, both delicious but nothing special or unique. The service was wonderful; however, the whole restaurant was freezing! I know it was extremely cold outside, but I wish it was a little warmer. I would recommend this place. read more

My family and I decided to have a birthday dinner at The Pointe and it was an amazing night. I ordered a calamari as an appetizer and Ribeye for my entree. The temperature of the steak was medium with juicy pink center and the calamari was fresh and Delicious. These two dishes were two of the most memorable dishes I have had there. The staff were above and beyond and always available. At the end of the night a manager visited our table to make sure everything ok and surprised my mom with a chocolate birthday cake. We've eaten here for the last three nights since we are staying in the hotel. Absolutely fabulous food! Salmon is delicious, filet mignon cooked perfectly, very tender, children's menu is wonderful. A Gourmet Lunch Buffet is offered daily, with a different speciality, such as smoked pork barbecue and slaw on Tuesdays. We ate along with other hotel guests, but noticed many college students chowing down as the food was presented well and constantly cleaned up by the servers. Tossed salads, curried chicken salad, speciality cheeses, beef brisket along with beans and rice. The desserts included pumpkin pie and a seven layered chocolate cake. This used to be our favorite spot for breakfast. Now we will be looking for a new location. We went to The Pointe this morning to celebrate our 37th anniversary. With a price tag of $18.00 per person, this was a splurge for us. Being the only people in the restaurant should have meant top notch service & attention, but sightings of our waiter were few & far between as he was clearing leaves from the patio, in twenty eight degree weather. The omelette chef was at her station when we first arrived and cooked me an omelette, but then disappeared for the rest of our visit. The sausages & bacon were cold although they seemed to be on hot plates. The food seemed to be of high quality & had good flavor, but I don't like cold bacon. I'll have to contact all our friends to whom we recommended this breakfast buffet, and update our opinion. Overall I am so disappointed that we will have to find a new place to enjoy breakfast in Charlottesville, definitely not worth 18.00. read more
