Poke now has hamburger sliders. I wanted to try them for a while now. So I ordered the 2 beef sliders with fries. It was an amazing burger, great char, perfect size and best of all the taste. it comes with fried and they don't skimp on the portion. The fries were cooked perfectly and golden brown. The price was very reasonable also. The service was also great, very helpful and kind. So another great place to eat. read more

My favorite Poké bowl place, this will be my last visit. The gal that made my bowl was deplorably, rude, shaking her head at me, evidently pissed that I walked into the restaurant. They all wanted me to do pick up, and I wasn't there for pick up. I wanted to actually order my Poké bowl. I only received two proteins, and they were out of. most everything, it just was a very bad experience, this is the second time in a row that it's not been very pleasant, but at least the last time was tolerable. I am so very disappointed at the changes. We could not wait for you to reopen and today was our first day back. Now I will say that my opinion is mine and as a business owner you choose what you do. Had I not been a faithful regular I would not be able to compare past and present. I want to start positive and service was great and staff was pleasant. We normally purchased two bowls. My husband would get a large with an extra protein and I would get a small. Now, there is one size with 3 scoops and the serving size was smaller. I did not order a bowl as I was not paying $15+ for something I cannot finish. He ordered an extra protein and received four shrimp. My hubby tried to order what he got in the past and we kept hearing, "that will cost extra!" If you want extras such as tsesame salad , ginger or edamame you will hear" that will cost extra!" . We purchased two BB Sliders and they were nothing special. The store is smaller and I do not know if we will go back. I am so sad. read more

Updated review. I heard they got the small bowl back and I was super excited. I was willing to pay more than before for it because i understand costs increase but it's actually less of a portion than I got in the kids bowl. So to pay 6-7 dollars more for less than I used to get isn't worth it to me but for others it may be and quality was good and the girl was sweet. I would like to note i tried to order the small bowl online and it didn't let me add and add ons other than the ones they charge for. I've been a customer of Poke Beach for a very long time, and look forward to grabbing a bowl there on lunch. It's always my favorite treat. Great staff, amazing food, and the bowls are perfect. However, they just reopened from their remodel and sadly it seems to have changed for the worse. Now the focus has shifted to their sliders and fried food, and it seems poke bowls have fallen by the wayside. The poke menu has been simplified, and a lot of options removed. Regardless, I ordered my standard poke bowl, which was always plenty of food and excellent. It comes in around $20, before tip. I was shocked to see that the bowl was mostly rice, and there was hardly any protein. I attached pictures for reference. My experience at pike beach is usually pretty positive. The staff is patient and kind, the dining room is clean and I love their self serve bar for soy sauce etc. they recently added burger sliders to the menu and some other items but I can only speak to their poke at the time of writing. The fish quality is hit or miss. This last time I went in the salmon looked unfamiliar. I got crab and tuna instead and it was great! Still a great choice for clean eating in carson. I like to get a great serving a veggies through poke! read more

UPDATED REVIEW SINCE THE REOPENING: My family used to LOVE Poke Beach. Unfortunately, after they reopened from their remodel, it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The staff before was friendly & helpful; The staff now is rude, unwelcoming & not helpful at all. When ordering our Poke bowls, the Latino male actually ignored 2 of our questions completely while looking right at us. The Latina female with glasses was rude also. I can not believe how this place used to be so great & one of our favorites to now we will NOT be coming back. The poke wasn't nearly as tasty & the amounts given were far less than before. Also, the slider my daughter got was ridiculously over cooked (more like jerky). We had been counting down the days for Poke Beach to open back up. Talk about a MAJOR disappointment. Nice little joint. We went for a swim at the Carson Aquatic Facility and were on our way to the hot springs and wanted to grab a bite. After seeing unhealthy fast food places everywhere and pizza signs flashing, we saw Poke Beach. U-turn! The girls working were really friendly and overall had a great vibe. I happened to see this place while driving by and later when we wanted lunch we ended up driving back here to give em a try. They pack their bowls in paper boxes which was different and the small looked small but man they can pack it in there. I still had left overs. Unlimited add ins, toppings and crunchy toppings! Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. The whole food area has a glass cover that closes when they aren't serving up bowls and that was the first time I have seen that, very cool! Keeps things fresher longer and easier and faster than opening and closing up each item or leaving things open and drying out. We will be back. read more

I would have given five stars if the rice had more flavor. For poke bowls, having sushi rice with a vinegar mixture is what other places offer rather than plain rice. I ordered a medium bowl and it was a lot of food. For protein, I chose tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, real crab (extra $2.50 but worth it). Lots of sauces to pick from and I don't think there is a bad choice regardless of which sauce(s) is selected. The additional ingredients are plentiful and they are generous with the amount they give you so if you want more of a particular ingredient, just let them know. I loved this place before the remodel! Good variety, large portions, service was good. After the remodel- highly disappointed and will most likely not go back. One size on Poke bowls, sauce extra, seaweed extra, extra ginger= extra, by the time you get the bowl.. it's not worth the cost. I also felt almost pressured into getting the sliders. The girl kept saying they were better than the poke. Ok, your opinion- but I know what I want and what I am here for. I honestly don't think it's changed for the better! I was at the Starbucks then I saw this poke beach. I was craving for some poke also. Didn't really wanna go to Reno that day, and also didn't want to go to poke by the Topsy Lane due their skimpiness for toppings. I ordered one medium bowl and it was 4 scoops of protein of your choice. I chose salmon and spicy tuna with white rice. Toppings were fried onion, fried garlic, corn, seaweed flakes, jalapeños, tobiko, spicy imitation crab. The sauce were spicy mayo, spicy shoyu, ponzu. Portion was huge! Toppings were great especially those fried garlic, very yummy and crunchy. There's some other stuff for add ons that needs additional charges. They've other choices of bowls like signature bowls ( senator bowl, house bowl etc ). I was quite satisfied with this poke. Service was also great, very friendly. Came here on a Saturday since I had work in Carson City. My co worker and I were hungry for sushi, but didn't have the time to sit down at a restaurant. Decided our next best option--Poke Bowl! This was my first visit here and I was very delighted to see that the take out was boxed in sustainable paper packaging. I order 1/2 brown rice and spring mix with tuna and salmon. My coworker ordered salmon and tofu all on spring mjx salad. Both bowls were loaded to the max and I really liked the Shoyu sauce on mine. I am a traditionalist and don't vary much from what I usually put on my bowl. My friend is a little more adventurous and got a balsamic vinaigrette with hers. She said it was really good. They even offered a sweeter balsamic glaze if you prefer, which is different from other poke places. We really enjoyed our lunch and I had to save 1/2 of mine because it was so large. read more

I've heard mixed reviews as it Poke Beach, and a lot of them negative about the sauces! I always reserve my review for my own experience. So without further ado, here it is. As you may have noticed, I gave it a 5 star. The restaurant is clean, employees are friendly, and the owner is eager to make changes where and if needed. He also caters to the local crowd and the very close High School crowd (#gosenatorscarsonhighschool). The food was great in my opinion. You get a lot for what you pay for! I got a medium bowl with 4 scoops of protien. I wasn't feeling too adventurous tonight, so I got two scoops of chicken and two scoops of shrimp on a bed of mixed greens. I topped it with crab mix, green onions, tomato. and cucumber with yummy sauce and the house sauce. Honestly, I was not disappointed. The sauces were a perfect mix of sweet and salty. I'm so sad to be doing this. They've just reopened after a remodel and I was so excited to enjoy one of my favorite meals, but was left with disappointment. The poke side of the restaurant has suffered since reopening. They now only have one size, and anything else you want is extra. One small drizzle of eel sauce, over a dollar extra. Extra veggies, extra sauce, all extra charge. Look I get the price of everything is going up and they need to survive, but this is a little extreme. And the quality has gone way down. I know I'm not the only one not happy, hopefully they listen to their client base. I'm just so sad, this used to be my favorite place. read more

Great fresh fast food. This was our pre covid go to spot for awesome poke and fortunately it still is! Josh has gone above and beyond every time im in here( just today I saw him make a little ones day. Small gestures like this make the world of a diffrence in someone's day). He even knows which bowl is mine for the shear mass and size of the container no mattaer how many I order for the fam bam, and when he's not in the shop I've always received the best service possible from the staff. They were both so friendly, helpful and patient. They gave us amazing service and because that they made our experience a great one. The food was fresh and delicious. However, second time at this place was a disaster - both brown and white rice was not cooked properly, salmon looked off color and a bit slimy. There was only a scoop left so I asked for fresh salmon and got "that's been in there only for 10 minutes." Funny - guy in line even made a comment - that's not the natural color of Salmon.. Not the best place for this visit. Was Hoping for more since it is close, and a new small business in Carson City. The food here is pretty good and they offer huge portions. For 12 bucks you can get a great amount of fish with all of the fixings you're looking for. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Fish tasted fresh and the food was good. read more

Being a huge sushi lover, we had to give Poke a shot. Not knowing what to expect, we were stoked with every aspect of going here. The owner is awesome and was very helpful helping us place our order the first there. We have since eaten here probably a half dozen times and have NEVER had a single bad experience. I love a good poke bowl and The Poke Beach did and amazing job. I have a gluten intolerance and the staff was very knowledgeable and careful keeping my bowl gluten-free. They even make gluten-free sauces for the bowls. There's glass covering for the food keeping it cool and fresh. Then with the glass partition you are able to watch them make your bowl. The portion sizes are large. You get a lot of yummy fresh food. I'm definitely going to visit often!! read more

This place is definitely hit or miss. I have been here three times now and the third time was not great. The first two times I came in, the workers were very friendly and nice. Portions were huge in size. Fish was fresh. All was going great which kept me coming back. It was becoming my new favorite lunch spot. Now the third time I had a completely different experience. The staff this time was not as friendly, nbd as everyone has bad days. I was polite and friendly but I think the attitude of the worker was taken out on my food. I was quite disappointed when my meal was getting made. I got a medium bowl which is 4 servings of protein. It is a tbsp scoop they use to portion out the protein. One of my scoops literally had two bites of fish in it. This was so much different than my last two experiences. They gave me very little rice and greens and very little toppings. Overall the value of my lunch was not even worth what I was charged. I will probably just hit a sushi bar next time and skip this unfortunately. It's a bummer as the food has always been fresh and good but I won't be coming back as it's not worth the money for the amount of food I was served. So be warned. You might get someone who takes pride in their work or you might get someone who does not care at all. read more
