This was nearly $20. The box is approximately 5" by 6" and before the weight of it was impressive. My husband is still hungry.

I am so very disappointed at the changes. We could not wait for you to reopen and today was our first day back. Now I will say that my opinion is mine and as a business owner you choose what you do. Had I not been a faithful regular I would not be able to compare past and present. I want to start positive and service was great and staff was pleasant. We normally purchased two bowls. My husband would get a large with an extra protein and I would get a small. Now, there is one size with 3 scoops and the serving size was smaller. I did not order a bowl as I was not paying $15+ for something I cannot finish. He ordered an extra protein and received four shrimp. My hubby tried to order what he got in the past and we kept hearing, "that will cost extra!" If you want extras such as tsesame salad , ginger or edamame you will hear" that will cost extra!" . We purchased two BB Sliders and they were nothing special. The store is smaller and I do not know if we will go back. I am so sad.

I've been a customer of Poke Beach for a very long time, and look forward to grabbing a bowl there on lunch. It's always my favorite treat. Great staff, amazing food, and the bowls are perfect. However, they just reopened from their remodel and sadly it seems to have changed for the worse. Now the focus has shifted to their sliders and fried food, and it seems poke bowls have fallen by the wayside. The poke menu has been simplified, and a lot of options removed. Regardless, I ordered my standard poke bowl, which was always plenty of food and excellent. It comes in around $20, before tip. I was shocked to see that the bowl was mostly rice, and there was hardly any protein. I attached pictures for reference. Even after moving the protein, it was just rice beneath it, and the total amount of protein was just disappointing.

My experience at pike beach is usually pretty positive. The staff is patient and kind, the dining room is clean and I love their self serve bar for soy sauce etc. they recently added burger sliders to the menu and some other items but I can only speak to their poke at the time of writing. The fish quality is hit or miss. This last time I went in the salmon looked unfamiliar. I got crab and tuna instead and it was great! Still a great choice for clean eating in carson. I like to get a great serving a veggies through poke!

Nice little joint. We went for a swim at the Carson Aquatic Facility and were on our way to the hot springs and wanted to grab a bite. After seeing unhealthy fast food places everywhere and pizza signs flashing, we saw Poke Beach. U-turn! The girls working were really friendly and overall had a great vibe. We customized our bowls and sat by the window to eat. Everything was super fresh and bright. Perfect little drive-by snack if you're hungry but not starving.

I wasn't sure what to expect with freshness and quality of ingredients but I was pleasantly surprised. This place was very clean inside, plenty of ingredients to choose from with friendly staff. I would have given five stars if the rice had more flavor. For poke bowls, having sushi rice with a vinegar mixture is what other places offer rather than plain rice. I ordered a medium bowl and it was a lot of food. For protein, I chose tuna, spicy tuna, salmon, real crab (extra $2.50 but worth it). Lots of sauces to pick from and I don't think there is a bad choice regardless of which sauce(s) is selected. The additional ingredients are plentiful and they are generous with the amount they give you so if you want more of a particular ingredient, just let them know. Great poke bowl with fresh ingredients. Would visit again if I am in the area.

Very happy to find this. Ordered a medium and it was chock full of fish as I had ordered. Tasted great. I'm even putting 5 stars despite that my order was delivered and I had received the incorrect order. Fortunately DoorDash made it right and I ended up with my actual poke!

I was at the Starbucks then I saw this poke beach. I was craving for some poke also. Didn't really wanna go to Reno that day, and also didn't want to go to poke by the Topsy Lane due their skimpiness for toppings. I ordered one medium bowl and it was 4 scoops of protein of your choice. I chose salmon and spicy tuna with white rice. Toppings were fried onion, fried garlic, corn, seaweed flakes, jalapeños, tobiko, spicy imitation crab. The sauce were spicy mayo, spicy shoyu, ponzu. Portion was huge! Toppings were great especially those fried garlic, very yummy and crunchy. There's some other stuff for add ons that needs additional charges. They've other choices of bowls like signature bowls ( senator bowl, house bowl etc ). I was quite satisfied with this poke. Service was also great, very friendly. I will definitely be back for another bowl of poke!!

I love the seaweed on the poke bowl!

Came here on a Saturday since I had work in Carson City. My co worker and I were hungry for sushi, but didn't have the time to sit down at a restaurant. Decided our next best option--Poke Bowl! This was my first visit here and I was very delighted to see that the take out was boxed in sustainable paper packaging. I order 1/2 brown rice and spring mix with tuna and salmon. My coworker ordered salmon and tofu all on spring mjx salad. Both bowls were loaded to the max and I really liked the Shoyu sauce on mine. I am a traditionalist and don't vary much from what I usually put on my bowl. My friend is a little more adventurous and got a balsamic vinaigrette with hers. She said it was really good. They even offered a sweeter balsamic glaze if you prefer, which is different from other poke places. We really enjoyed our lunch and I had to save 1/2 of mine because it was so large.

I took photos of the bowl as it was served, including close-up photos, and I'm including them with this review. To their credit, the staff tried to make up for it by giving us a complimentary slice of guava cheesecake. The cheesecake was good, although the guava part was basically an orange-colored syrup. I appreciate that they acknowledged the problem and made an effort to address it, but finding a hair in food is still difficult to overlook. As for the rest of the meal, the $38 Sampler was easily the best thing we ordered. It came with 4 baby back ribs, 2 crab cakes, and 4 jumbo shrimp. Everything on that plate was good. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken was mediocre. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing special either. The fried calamari was also lacking in volume. The sampler was good, but unfortunately, finding a hair in the poke bowl overshadowed the meal.

Much to my dismay,…read morethey were not on the menu and when i asked about them i was told that those were just a "seasonal" offering last year. Hmmm, isn't peak tourist season in tahoe the right time to have your seasonal offerings? Oh well i looked for something else. Honestly the menu is pretty scant for lunch. Only three sandwiches and one was a hamburger. I finally settled on the ahi poke tacos. I have had lots of poke in hawaii so i was skeptical being in tahoe but i must say they were good. Not great but i would order them again. The place has a hawaiian flair in the menu so i was hoping for maybe a katsu dish or more fresh fish options. I think fish tacos would be a slam dunk there but that's just me. The ambience is nice and i sat in the shade on the patio on one of the hottest days of the year and it was still quite pleasant. Parking is readily available (that's important in tahoe in the summer) and service was on point. It was a little pricey for lunch, being over $32 after tax and tip for tacos and a soda. They also charge 3% service charge for using a credit card which i did not see posted on any signs or menus. Disappointing to find hidden charges after the meal. Overall i would rate this 3.5 stars but half stars are not available.

Maybe them closing is the reason, who knows. Anyways so far all 3 places have been better than the ones I go to in the bay area, at least on the peninsula. There is some good ones, but not exactly quick and easy as Hawaiian bbq should be. Walked in at lunch time. Decent amount of people there around that time. I liked that they had outdoor benches, cool looking inside with the food truck decor and window to look into the kitchen. Staff greeted me quickly and was friendly. I'm far from a picky eater and when trying new places, i like to let the staff steer the ship. They most likely have tried the whole menu, have their favorites, and if I don't like it, it's probably not worth going back to try anything else. Good looking plate. First thing I noticed eating it, this felt a lot cleaner than most Hawaiian BBQ places. It's not caked in sauce or wasn't swimming on a marinade for days. It was seasoned nicely, was tender, and not going to be a sodium bomb. I usually see most places give more white rice (2 scoops), but probably a good thing they didn't, because I would have ate it and been overly stuffed. Mac salad was balanced, light, nice palette cleanser. That said, Mac salad on its own isn't something that would be able to stand alone. Better than L&L, but that isn't saying much. Back to the service. They came to check on me, see how I was enjoying the food, and also recommended I try the hot sauce thets made in house. That was a nice change from the siracha that is everywhere. Not very spicy, but has a kick and paired well with the plate. I'll be back, but I'm sure I'll try something new. Most likely the tacos. The Jump Up and Kiss Me Chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The flavor was just okay, but there was nothing particularly special about the dish. Service The service was very poor. Our waitress repeatedly rolled her eyes and barely checked on us to see if everything was okay. I had to repeatedly get up myself to ask for condiments, refreshments, and napkins. Management I was also disappointed with how the manager handled my concerns. After I explained our experience, her response was essentially, "Okay, I'll pass along your comments." She did not seem concerned or interested in making the situation better. Unfortunately, I understood why the service was so poor after speaking with the manager. A manager should set the standard for customer service, and in this case, I did not feel that there was much care or concern for the customers. I used to love going to Reds when they had the previous manager. He was always kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customers. The food was also delicious and tasted fresh.
