Bowls are a little bit on the pricey side compare to the Bay Area, but I was happy to find good poke in Carson city. It was great that everything is kept covered in a clear case refrigerator. I've had better poke at other places, certainly not in carson city or reno area. I had one of their signatures bowl, large size of House Bowl and my wife had a large bowl with her choices of addings. Basically, too much rice and not enough salmon or tuna and other ingredients. So we couldn't taste flavorful of poke that we used to enjoy in the bay area. As the result, we won't try poke in Carson City or Reno area at all. I really don't want to hear about pandemics, economics.... all excuses for sub par food quality. I feel quality of food and bringing the right flavor of poke should be the priority, not trying to just imitate. I'd rather pay the right price for right food quality. Their service was excellent. I'd like to start off with... Large! If you order a large, you're going to get it. This place is competitively priced and the quality ain't too shabby. They probably could of added more fish to my order but with all the sides and what not, I couldn't really tell how much they put in. Sauce was pretty good. Seriously the best poke ever. Owners special sauces are amazing. Get the miso soup!! Sushi is excellent quality and they also have tons of great toppings. Not sure where to start with all of the red flags, but here we go: 1. They were running out of spicy tuna and both myself and boyfriend wanted 3 out of our 4 scoops to be this protein. The young lady proceeded to scoop the remaining pieces and counted roughly 3-4 cubed pieces as one scoop! (I should have left then) 2. As I was ordering, the young lady went out of her way to tell me that they didn't recommend to add edamame and seaweed salad as toppings?! I can understand if I was asking for suggestions, but these ingredients seem pretty commonplace to me. As a customer, I'm the one that is paying and eating the meal, so don't judge a customer for their selections. 3. Flavorless sauces that are bland and not good. I watched a male employee throw cubes of tuna into a sketchy looking plastic container. It appeared that he had literally squirted some mayo into the container and used a spoon to shift a few pieces of tuna around (ewww). I'm beating myself up for not leaving sooner. 4. This place charges extra for mango (Poke Doke on Topsy lane does not). 5. Customer service was meh... they said hello and thanked us for our business...pretty similar to a Walmart experience. 6. I noticed a loyalty card, which I wasn't offered by the young lady (no big deal, as I won't be returning). Don't waste your time and money with this place, instead go to Poke Doke on Topsy Lane! I recently moved back to Carson and was pretty stoked a Poke Restaurant opened near where I lived. I decided to take advantage of their online ordering (which I love because I'm antisocial, haha). Online ordering was easy to use, no complaints. I went to pick up my food at it's scheduled time and it was ready when I showed up, no complaints. I'm a little disappointed in the size of their to go container, seemed a little small. Not sure what their normal bowls look like if you're eating in though. Guess I'm just used to huge quantities like the other poke places I have been to. The fish seemed fresh and you can get real crab without additional charge and the spicy shoyu was very tasty but they were a little skimpy on the toppings. The staff seemed friendly but I guess they have a rewards system and it wasn't offered to me? I'd definitely give them another shot but I'll probably eat in instead. read more

The staff was so awesome and the food was FANTASTIC!!! This is definitely my new favorite restaurant in Carson City!!!! We had never been to a poke place before but were very curious and the staff walked us through the entire process and were even amazingly patient and helpful to my 10 yr old who wasn't real sure about the poke experience! The amount of food they give you is well worth the price and I HIGHLY recommend the "Amy sauce", she makes a sauce that is to die for!!!! Their food is great, but they are never open. Don't go by the hours they have posted on their website. The last 3 times we've been in Carson City we've gone by to get poke to take home and they have been closed. Just this past Saturday we stopped by at 3:30 in the afternoon, walked in and they told us that they now close at 2 PM on Saturdays even though their website says 5:00 PM. read more

I would rate you a 5-star but you are closed on Sunday and I have gone here Sunday probably five times and been disappointed and I have also been to your store about 8:30 more than 10 times on weekdays. You should seriously consider stretching your hours to 9 p.m. weekdays and you should seriously consider opening on Sundays. You have a competitor Poke Doke and if you were open to 9 p.m. Weekdays and open on Sundays for even a few hours you would be the only place that everyone would come for poke. Out of the 2 poke places in Carson, I believe Poke Beach is an extremely close second. 2 factors came to mind while enjoying a dine in experience at Poke Beach that helped me draw this conclusion, 1 being the bowls... meaning the actual vessel for which they serve the food, not terrible, however not easy to eat out of either. The second factor is the service... again not terrible... however the other Poke place is just a little better. With all that said, the food is very good and on par with the competition. The protein is very fresh and the rice is far from dry, comparable to sushi. The actual restaurant is decent size which gives them a leg up from the competition, as well as the cleanest take out style restaurant I've ever been in. In my opinion, I would choose this place without a doubt, as long as I wasn't close to the south end of town. read more

I've been to some really good poke places in Southern California, Palo Alto, and Denver. Disappointed to not have found anything similar in N NV. Poke Beach was decent and hope they make a go of it. Opening and running your own business like this is hard. The owner was really nice. Real crab as an option is a huge plus. Seaweed salad was good. I'm not a big fan of the take out containers. I wanted to be able to rate this place higher because I very much want to support our local businesses. But the appearance of the salmon and the undercooked rice just kinda killed it for us. The salmon was cloudy and rather old looking and the cut on the condiments was too big compared to the proteins so the proportions were unpleasant.
