The Polished Bean is a drive-thru cafe on Monte Vista, CO. My daughters and I wanted a little caffeine kick so I took the drive-thru. The speaker on June 28, 2024 was scratchy and cutting in and out. So the young lady at the window waves us up to her & probably said that much on the speaker too, but we'll never know. Lol. I requested an iced mocha latte ($5.97) since they were unable to do an iced coffee. It tasted delicious! Service was a bit slow for one drink, but super friendly. Cash gets you a slight discount, but cards are accepted too. Look for The Polished Edge building--it's a liquidation, stone, tile & flooring store. The Polished Bean is in the same building with the menus displayed on its southeast corner. read more

It's ok green chili breakfast burrito is 6/10, they don't give you salsa. Coffee gonna have to pass they are always overly sweet and small sizes for the prices. Kids run it, had a young gentleman can deffinately tell he hated his job everything I asked for seemed like I was bothering him. Not the first time customer service is always bad there. read more

We got a variety of things and weren't really happy with everything. We got two coffees, cinnamon roll, pecan roll, and a burrito. The coffee tasted like half of the flavor syrup. The Cinnamon roll was definitely a couple days old, burnt, and not fresh. The burrito was bacon, egg, and hash brown. About 95% of the burrito was hash brown. I would consider different options before this one. read more

One dirty chai was $8.50ish before tip and they forgot the espresso in it so it was just an almost $9 chai. I didn't even finish it because it was just way too sweet :( very expensive for drinks but the burrito was really good. read more

Amazing lattes, the breakfast burrito is to die for, and the banana nut muffin has so much flavor. They are kind of hidden in a granite store called the polished edge, so if you find that, walk in and you'll see the restaurant. read more

This place was wonderful! They had no dairy milk for the coffee and a great assortment of food for non meat eaters, unlike the Sunflour, which had no nondairy milk and everything had meat in it. This place had wonderful folks and interesting art and homemade things. A real gem! I'll be back here next time birdwatching in Monte Vista. Thanks!!! read more

If you're looking for a quick greasy breakfast burrito on the go, The Polished Bean is a good option in a town with limited choices. This little venue is a granite and furniture store with a coffee shop and cafe with attached drive through. I have tried the bruschetta toast, BLT, and prefer the bacon egg and green Chile breakfast burrito for food- but it can easily be split between two people! In regards to coffee, it has been difficult to get a correct order a lot of times. The first time I had an iced coffee it wasn't that strong so I figured it was missing a shot of espresso so I asked the barista how many shots of espresso are in a 20oz iced coffee. She said two shots per 20oz, which in my experience an americano has 3 shots per 20oz. I have also ordered large coffees and gotten mediums- this isn't a huge deal but it happens regularly and if I'm paying the same price I would like the correct amount of coffee in my drink. Oftentimes Polished Bean is the only place in Monte Vista serving espresso, Rainbrews being the other option in town just down the road. Perhaps there's some confusion among staff on how to make drinks with the correct ratio of coffee/water. Either way I've started bringing my own cup and ordering three shots of espresso and just making my own americano from the espresso at home. But even getting 3 shots of espresso is inconsistent- I've paid for three and gotten two. :( That being said, the drive through is convenient and every time I've gone inside the staff have all been super nice! It would be cool for a place in Monte to have Açaí bowls and/or a masticating juicer for a fresh juice option in town (a relatively lucrative and healthy breakfast option!) and I could see Polished Bean really taking off with this concept (imagining a Polished Bean juice & espresso bar at the Farmer's market in the spring/summer) and it could really monopolize on such great local produce in the SLV! read more

Vanilla mocha was ok but they were incredibly rude so I won't be returning. When I walked in they were talking crap about the person in the phone. She was Super abrupt and rude when taking my order. Finished my drink Set it on the counter and walked away not another word. If it was early I'd get it but this was at 9:30 in the morning and my order couldn't have been more simple. read more
