After church service at the WEC chapel (Pastor Bill does a good job!) and checking out the Home & Garden Show, my wife and I developed an appetite and were looking for a lunch spot. Having dined at Yellow Pony and Ralph's before, we considered Filo's Mexican Cantina or fairly new The Poly Pony at the Equestrian Manor. We decided to try out The Polo Pony. Much like the Equestrian Hotel, the Equestrian Manor is just as opulently appointed with canine and equestrian art adorning its walls. When we approached the hostess, we were greeted warmly and had our information taken to "create" a reservation. Upon getting seated, the hostess informed us that The Polo Pony has only been open for 110 days...but who's counting? The Polo Pony's decor seems more formal than at the Yellow Pony, but the menu items, at least for lunch, were similar. Our server greeted us by our names as she prepares to take our orders...nice touch. My wife ordered the Ultimate Chicken Salad with sea salted fries and I ordered the Ocala Cubano served with a honey mustard sauce (at our server, Rachel's suggestion) and truffle fries (not aware nor informed there's a $3 up-charge). My Cubano was quite good, especially when dipped in the honey mustard sauce. My wife, while liking the fresh citrus flavors of her chicken salad, thought it was not as creamy as she would prefer. Service was a bit detached. Our server never checked on us after our meals were served and we had to ask for water refills. All in all, a decent meal with exquisite ambience. However, I think we prefer the Yellow Pony...especially that smoked Reuben sandwich! Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $52. read more

Last night I went out with friends and visited the Polo Pony again. This time we sat at their main bar. Our evening started out well and unfortunately went downhill as the evening progressed. The noise level went from tolerable to barely able to have a conversation. There were 6-7 bartenders and barmaids. But to get cocktails was hit or miss. I constantly observed them leaving the bar area to get more supplies also it appeared that each one had there assigned section of the bar and if you weren't in there area they just walked by. The food went from very good to ok. They were very busy but with all the staff our experience should have been better. I'm thinking going forward we will just dine there to ensure we get the same experience as my first visit. Possibly just an off night?? Sorry for no additional photos. read more

This restaurant was amazing, the staff were all very nice and professional.. our server was a very nice young man named Alec and he did a wonderful job. The ambiance as you will see from the pics is beautiful., lots of great pictures including a funny donkey one I just couldn't help filming. Our food was very very good everything was done well, I had the filet mignon and it was very delicious. They must have a great chef because everything came out excellent.. my husband and I shared a delicious key lime pie for dessert and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both the Pastrami Stack & the Pan-Roasted Salmon were absolutely delicious, top notch. And being in a seriously upscale tavern setting is no joke. We wanted to check out this new place. It opened just short of 2 months ago. Absolutely 100% fun place to eat. The service was excellent, ask for Curtis, he is really good and he knows exactly what he's talking about as far as portion sizes and recommendation's. We ordered the lobster rolls for appetizer and the chicken and waffles for dinner. It was excellent. Next time I want to try the ham and cheese sandwich because he highly recommends it. I loved the ambiance and eating outside and watching the sun go down. It was a nice cool evening and thy kindly brought over a heat lamp. read more

Great menu! The honey whipped chèvre is a must. My favorite entree is the beef rib. Good portion size, great flavor and extremely tender. Servers are always well-spoken, professional and engaging. Highly recommend! Oh, and the 16 layer chocolate cake .. need I say more? read more

Beautiful new restaurant and we had a very helpful polite server. The food was just so-so especially for the upscale feel. The crab and corn chowder looked and tasted good. It came in a shallow bowl with roasted corn and red peppers surrounding the 1 mini crab-cake. Then the server poured a cream sauce over the dish. Nice presentation but skimpy. I had the salmon, potato spread and broccolini. All tasted delicious but very small portion. My granddaughter was looking at my photos after my trip and asked me why they served it on such a big plate. I told her it was a regular sized plate but a small portion. My husband ordered the rib, note not ribs. It came out one giant rib with a great flavor but after he finished eating the small amount of meat off it was the same size. My husband is 6'2" and likes a nice meal but we are seniors with smaller appetites these days but. We still stopped in for a dessert at another place on our way home. Went there on a very nice afternoon. It was very busy as expected, it is horse season and this is their stomping ground. The server was overwhelmed, not his fault, but still very attentive. The best part of the experience was the service and the bar drinks although very overpriced for the size of the drink. The wings were very good and we got a small order for 3 adults before we ordered...we should have stopped there. The rest of the meal was not good, undercooked, cold and tasteless the price is crazy as WEC seems to be, which you don't mind so much if it is good. It's Not Overwhelming,Exactly the Right Choices.. We started with the Polo fries appetizer. Amazing!! I had the Ham,Brie and Sliced Pear sandwich. Delectable. I had to bring half home. Their Cole slaw is amazing. Did I mention that Everything is delivered Fresh Daily!! The Menu... French Kiss!! Service is Outstanding!! Every Person working there has a Customer Service First Outlook.. So Nice!! Our waiter was perfect. He knew the Menu and Dishes like the back of his hand!! He had Great Recommendations!!Checked on us regularly. It was SO Refreshing that when asking a lady at front desk where something was located.
