Kevin and Lou properly diagnosed and repaired our Cayenne, when the dealer could not. The car had 120k, started rattling at idle. We had already spent 20k at the dealer Herb Chambers Boston replacing pipes and parts, and after 4 weeks got the car back with worse vibrations. We moved to PA and stopped by this shop for help. Kevin correctly diagnosed the issue is engine mount, replaced for less than 1k all in, vibration gone, now drives almost as smooth as new! Very happy and will return for all future car needs. Had the rear main seal replaced on a vintage car. The price quoted was fair. On my way home realized my cylinder head temp gauge was no longer working. Called, returned to find out the engine was pulled without the wiring harness/sensor being disconnected. Not the end of the world, but the mechanic that did the work (not Tom or Kevin) refused to accept what happened and got confrontational.....very confrontational This despite a frayed wiring harness sticking out of the body wiring harness. I really can't say enough about the Porsche Specialist. First, these guys know their stuff. This is not simply a "we specialize in imports" shop. They know Porsche cars inside and out. Kevin McConnell not only grew up around Porsches, but he is also a Porsche Master Technician. He seems to be an encyclopedia when it comes to the cars and the particular issues unique to each model. Second, they are scrupulously honest. When I had a Boxster, I brought it in for what I expected to be a $3,000 fix (the dealer said it would be even more). I was pleasantly surprised that it turned out to be a simple $300 fix. Kevin could have taken me to the cleaners on that repair (and many mechanics would), but he didn't. Being able to trust your mechanic is a huge bonus in my book. Third, he's cost effective. When you take a car to the Porsche Specialist, you're getting dealer-quality work for substantially less cost. Also, you don't have to schedule the work weeks in advance. Kevin generally has a quick turnaround time and makes it easy to pick up and drop off your car. If you have a Porsche, even one on the more exotic side, I highly recommend the Porsche Specialist. He can handle any job and he does it honestly for a fair price. There is nothing more you can ask for than that. read more
