I met Donna through our contractor, who was doing a full renovation of our new home. We had planned…read morea holiday/house warming party for about 80 people, and it was a race against the clock to have our renovations finished for the big night. Although the new floor tiles looked great, and the wall paint colors too; what was missing was that extra something pulling it all together. We had some old furniture, some new, art for the walls, a beautiful new built-in library, but we had no idea how to place the books, where to hang the art....basically our new home needed something to tie it all together. It needed Donna, said our contractor: "She can make your house feel like a home. She will tie it all together and she will listen to your budget!" And she did! She and her assistant reviewed the house, made notes and took measurements, and then they were off and running! The week flew by and she worked her magic- bringing in plants, hanging up pictures, moving tables, adding tables, taking away tables. It was a blur seeing her running around with her creativity flowing. At the end, the warmth and creative touches she made to our home was absolutely perfect. She stayed in our budget and really made the house feel like our home. That was in December and we have continued to hire her for different projects. However, the coffee table I purchased has a marble top which is cracking, and was actually repaired right after purchase. The owner, I believe whose name is Michael, was less than happy about having to stand by his product. He has quite a temper. The real reason I'm just now reviewing them is because of what happened yesterday. A very large, $900 canvas print I purchased and had 'professionally hung' by California Design's employee/contractor, at an additional cost, btw, fell off the wall! Not only is my wall gouged from the corner of the frame hitting it as it fell, the back frame holding the wire also came apart. That will be difficult to repair because of how it was initially put together. What I am upset about is that the installer used two screws, with no wall anchor or being secured by a stud, to hold this heavy picture! Unbelievably sloppy work. It took three years, but it finally failed, which he knew it eventually would. I paid to have it hung properly, which it wasn't. California Designs is now out of business, and no wonder! Good riddance to bad attitudes and poor work ethic.

Without the staging that Michael did for a house that was a complete redo the house would've sat on the market for A LONG TIME. Whatever your needs are you would be foolish not to go to California Style Home Collections!!!
