Went here as it was close to Koreatown and was recommended twice on yelp & Reddit for cheap breakfast bites. I ordered the breakfast burrito which comes with a side of hashbrown or your choice of fries, salad or rice. It also came with a small portion of fresh salsa. I also ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice because it reminded me of the fresh squeezed juice I've had in Portugal. The lady who worked the counter was really nice. She complimented on my portable fan and even taught me a little korean, which was how to say thank you. Kamsahamnida. I highly recommend Potato Sack if you're looking for a quick bite to eat with excellent service. I love how cozy it feels. Had a potsack sandwich with sausage. Egg was cooked "perfectly," light texture, not overcooked. The sausage was a little underwhelming in flavor. I was afraid that "jam" on the sandwich might make it too sweet, but it didn't. Jam balanced nicely with the savory notes of the sandwich. but not a bad sandwich. The tots......tasted like tots, not much to say other than that. P.S......do something about the AC. The temperature could've been better. read more

The Potato Sack is tucked away in the corner of a small plaza with free parking! I ordered to go, but the restaurant looked clean and spacious when I stopped by. I ordered a breakfast burrito ($14) with a side of 2 pancakes ($5). I was greeted by a really kind worker inside who gave me my food! The entire trip home, all I could smell was butter from the pancakes. The burrito comes with a side (I chose tater tots), pico de gallo, and a spicy aioli sauce that was so yummy. The burrito itself had tots, cheese, eggs, and your choice of protein. It was a good size, and it wasn't super greasy :) I will definitely be a repeat customer here! read more

I came across this restaurant on here as a recommend place. I was almost instantly persuaded to come just by the name because HELLO POTATOES! The tater tots were so crispy and delicious. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon and a side of those amazing tater tots. I also got one of their blended coffees to go. The burrito was a very generous size and was packed with so much flavor. The lady that was serving and taking ordered was Al older sweet lady with the sweetest smile and you could tell she loved her job. She made sure she greeted everyone as they walked in. I ordered my food to go and it literally took them less than 10 minutes to make it. It was such a cute spot. read more

What a great breakfast place! I think we need more breakfast places like this. It is nothing fancy and very casual. There were a handful of tables and a large screen TV. I think they have something for everyone! Traditional American breakfasts along with south of the border favorites as well as Asian dishes. I went for a traditional breakfast with eggs, bacon and tater tots while my partner went for the dumplings and chicken fried rice. read more

We needed a hearty breakfast before Anime Expo. This little breakfast shop was 15 minutes walking from our hotel. It was tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Inside were wooden tables and plastic chairs. I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon and a salad. My son ordered the eggs with bacon. Both were $14. My eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly. The creamy yolk with the sauce mixed with the saltiness of the bacon was delicious on the English muffin. The salad helped to give a different texture and flavor profile to the dish. I get my hair cut next door to this place and decided to stop by afterwards for a late breakfast. This is a great little mom and pop style restaurant in the corner of a small plaza on 8th street. It has a menu with a nice variety. I got the arugula ham and cheese omelette and my wife got eggs Benedict. Both were very tasty!! The service was great and the food came out quickly. Nice spot for a quick breakfast. Chose some sides instead of a full meal because I was not fully hungry at the time. Ordered Loaded Tater Tots and Chocolate Chip Panko Crusted French Toast. If you enjoy your tater tots on the soggy side, this might be a great choice. The tater tots are crispy on the outside but fall apart very easily. If you like them to hold their crunch more, it might be worth asking if they can fry or heat them up a little longer. The french toast was warm and delicious with a sweet chocolatey sauce drizzle on top. It's important to note these two are side dishes so the main courses are likely more solidly prepared. I would like to come back some day to try out the other dishes. Parking here can be very limited in the small plaza space, otherwise it is street parking. read more

I got a breakfast burrito, sausage and bacon with a side of home fries .. they give you a side of pico de gallo and a side of a spicy orange salsa.. breakfast burrito was good had a lot of tater tots and not a lot of eggs, but it was bomb. That orange salsa is amazing and I'm trying to figure out what In it so I could make it , it's that good lol As for the price ,I would've liked to be a little bit more hooked up but the flavor made up for that .. I have no complaints service was also excellent and quick ! I don't mind paying more for things when they're good and service is great and this is exactly what you'll get from this place.. 3.5 rounded up to 4! I think Potato Sack is a fair brunch spot in KTown! We stumbled upon it randomly one weekend since we wanted to try somewhere new, and I'm happy I got to check it out. We were able to be seated immediately, and the parking lot was fairly empty. We ordered the 2 Eggs, 2 Ham plate and added 2 pancakes. We also upgraded the side to Loaded Tater Tots. Everything was solid and tasty. The tater tots were not as crunch as I would have liked, but the food was well cooked and came out fairly quickly. However, the cost was a little pricier than the value of what we got. The service and ambiance were just okay. There were other things on the menu that caught my eye, so I'd be down to go back to try other dishes. You also get a free soda by checking in on Yelp! Me and my boyfriend have been here twice & both times the food has been amazing! Last time I got the breakfast burger which was pretty good, but this French toast sandwich was well made! Me and my boyfriend got a strawberry juice & taro boba (doesn't come with ice so remember to ask for it) & they were both delicious! The people who work here are friendly and they're quick with their service too :). It's a very small place & it's a chill environment. You can get a decent breakfast here for about $16. I got the continental breakfast whiz included tater tots, sausages, two eggs and two pieces of toast. I like the fact they open very early. They don't really have a ton of appealing or interesting breakfast options in my opinion. They do have a pretty varied menu though. Everything was just fine. The tater tots looked a bit too browned but they tasted just fine anyway. They have a small parking lot in front which is often full. Meter parking available nearby. read more

I guess I wasn't clear that I wanted the hot links only. This is such a hidden gem for breakfast grub! I like to say potatoes are my favorite vegetable, and this is a place where the potatoes really shine. We came by for lunch and we got the Breakfast Burrito and the Potsack Sandwich. Both items were absolutely delicious. The sandwich was so well-balanced and had a homemade quality to it. The pickled onions were a great addition. The Breakfast Burrito was fantastic as well, but wish it did come with a few more add-ins like avocado. The tater tots were amazing and optimally crispy. Service is pretty quick and efficient here as well. Solid spot to satisfy your breakfast cravings. read more

I ordered thru Uber eats and there is mold in my burrito. When I reported this they said the red & white onions turned the egg green, umm no. This is mold and I'm disgusted. Was looking for a breakfast spot in Ktown to take my mother to. Potato Sack popped up! I saw the bibimbap and already clicked in my head this was the right spot. Came in and had been greeted by friendly worker. Settled with menus asked when we were ready to order in the front. Order mushroom omelette- came with a side and toast you can choose from a large variety of side and toast selections . We chose tater tots and wheat toast. This was okay . I really wanted to try the truffle omelet which I will next time. The toast and the tater tots are very worth it! They do have breakfast style eggs available! Potato Sak Bibimbap- Beef teriyaki , fries rice veggies arugula, and of course gochujang to top it off. The potatoes were my favorite in this dish. THE FRENCH TOAST!~~~~ Fluffed French Toast topped with just the right amount of powder sugar ^_____^. This was so good I had ordered one Togo! It's 20% chicken tenders 80% breading - tasted ok like most tenders- the spinach and mushroom sides were not much- like 2-3 spoon fulls. Recently we discovered this place down the road and we're happy to find a new breakfast/lunch/brunch spot to visit. It's a nice, intimate place for people to enjoy in small groups of four or less. The staff was extremely friendly and polite despite an obnoxious family sitting by. They definitely do their best to let you enjoy your time there and the food hit the spot. During our visit, we tried the Mushroom Spinach and Cheese Omelette and the Jalapeño Teriyaki Omelette. The potatoes, English muffins and our omelettes each came out fantastic. They really did hit the spot and is exactly the type of breakfast spot you want to visit. We definitely didn't leave hungry and already can't wait to come back. Parking can be limited, but it's similar to most K-town restaurants. There is plenty of street parking and a small private lot, but it's a very easy and walkable place to visit. read more

The reason I'm giving this 2 instead of one star because the nice Korean grandma that served us. I really hope I don't get food poisoning. This review is for the chefs. Easily the worst eggs Benedict I've ever had, please chef take notes and don't be offended I really want y'all to succeed. On that note I'm going to make a list from the least bad to the horridness. I HATE wasting food... but I kid you not I took one bite laughed to myself and just told my partner, "I cannot eat this" (solidly the worst dish I've ever had) 1. No salt on the potatoes, the crisp was nice though! 2. The egg in my eggs Benedict viciously undercooked... was basically raw... I really hope I don't get sick. Please learn how to cook the egg white but keep the yolk soft/ a bit runny. This dish needs practice obviously! 3.oh my lord, why did the muffin taste like play dough. 4. It smelled bad in there; need a more clean environment. - if I get sick from the 3 bites I took with finals around the corner.... We are going to have a problem read more

Went here instead of waiting in a crazy line for a viral food item. It was very relaxed spot. Parking could be a problem, but I managed fine. Highly recommend the French sandwich!!! As I look around I see there is an open upstairs area that looks down onto the first level. So cool right? I had a conversation with two regulars and they swear by the menu. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

They do have several gourmet cocktails and I tried the PYT with a butterfly blue and butterfly peas - it was really the color changing effect I was after. It was great, not too terribly sweet and just the right strength. They also have a full wine list from Black wineries - so I'm a huge fan of that. Our server was fantastic and everyone that helped us was also incredibly kind. We went on a Friday early evening and it was relatively busy, but it wasn't insanely loud. The ambiance was perfect for us. It was my mom's birthday and she had a great time. The wall decor was hilarious and fit the restaurant perfect. We love that it's Black owned. It was a bit far out for us, but if we were ever in the mood for good soul food outside the South, I'd definitely go here.

It's not gourmet but definitely great as bar food. I inhaled the pepperoni fries and the tacos weren't bad as well. But I was there for drinks and I love the two for one special. We were able to get a seat on the coach and order drinks from the bar relatively quickly. Prices were pretty typical of LA ($18-25 a cocktail) but I would say I probably won't come back this late as it's in a shadier part of town. They have a bouncer and it was fine inside, but it's not a place where you can bar hop if that's what you're looking for as the area is seedy. Would be interested to try the food next time, but again, the safety and comfort of the light of day.

The atmosphere was calm and inviting, with attentive service that made it easy to slow down and enjoy the morning. Large windows provided wonderful views of the surrounding downtown buildings, and we found ourselves lingering over coffee while watching the city come to life. As if breakfast wasn't enough, the pastry display caught our attention on the way out. Everything looked so beautiful and delicious that we couldn't resist taking a few pastries home with us. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. He also refused to make an espresso martini despite having the ingredients available. To make matters worse, one of our dishes never arrived. When we brought it up, the server responded, "I asked you if it came out and you said yes," instead of apologizing for the mistake. Afterward, he took the bill and appeared to be talking negatively about our table. For a restaurant with such a stellar reputation, I expected much better.
