This is mostly a review of the açaí bowl than of the entire restaurant, I'm still planning on ordering more stuff and updating based on my experience of other stuff. To be super clear, the lady who was there (and I think owns it) is super kind and she genuinely seems excited and happy to serve her customers. Her granola bar was tasty but she put sooooo much granola that it didn't seem so much like an açaí bowl anymore. While it's a great amount for your money, I never finish it and açaí bowls are hard to keep. But I'll definitely come back and try other stuff on the menu, the lady is just so kind. read more

A cute awesome cafe at City Center KTLA. Was doing some grocery shopping at Zion market and feeling a lil hungry. Their tuna panini is so delish said my daughter. Yelp completely led me astray on this one. We were in the area around lunch on a Saturday. Because of all the great reviews we decided to come here. We get here and the place is empty. I order a sandwich and my girlfriend orders a salad. Then we sit and wait. Another couple come by, order something, get their food and leave. A family comes in and gets a bunch of food. Twenty minutes pass. We eventually ask where our food is, and are told they haven't even started preparing it yet, but that that they would start now. That's when we asked for our money back. Just about everything is good here. Boba drinks, blended drinks, panini, sandwich...salad...I've tried variety off of the menu and not once disappointed! The owner lady uses real agave honey, real fruits, and fresh vegetable. One time, I went there and ordered the panini with salad, and I was offered to take chips instead because the vegetable wasn't fresh enough. Came here to pass some time while waiting for my friends to join me for happy hour. This place was relatively empty for a weekday afternoon and I thought that most K-town plazas usually had decent coffee shops. I ordered a Thai tea and sat down to use the wifi. I had been waiting for a good 15 minutes before I realized that the people coming in were getting their orders one right after the other. So I inquired about my order at the front and it turns out the woman at the front had completely forgotten my order. Small annoyance here, but whatever, it happens sometimes. This 2 star rating is more for the Thai tea that subsequently came after my inquiry. Now Thai tea is a pretty common drink seen in most coffee and boba shops, so I imagine it's quite hard to mess up on it. Sad to say, it was nearly undrinkable and in no way resembled the taste of Thai tea. I almost felt rude for leaving the place while carrying a mostly full drink and not knowing what to do with it. It was also swelteringly hot inside with no AC and coupled with the smell of musty, dirty water from the woman who was periodically mopping and wiping the place made for quite the unpleasant experience. I love this place! Though, I've actually never set foot in it..... My boyfriend works in Koreatown and he brings sandwiches home for me after work for dinner :D I've tried the Cranberry Turkey Sandwich and Turkey Avocado Sandwich. Got it with salad both times. Both are extremely good.... but I especially love the salad though. The green dressing, which I believe is homemade, is so addicting. Has the perfect blend and texture with the greens and the light sprinkle of cheese that is on top of the salad makes it super perfect. I would buy a bottle of this for my homemade salads. Both sandwiches were good, though the cranberry is better than the turkey avocado - just because the flavor is more unique (has sweetness to it, which I like). I love the breads they use - never hard and dry. I keep asking for food from this place and my boyfriend gets annoyed. The downside is a meal is around $7..... but it gets me super full. read more

Saw someone drinking boba in the market and asked where they got it from. They said it was at the end on the 2nd floor. (If you know this mall, this is the downfall of this mall. When you get up the escalators, you can go 4 split directions and you won't know where your destination is until you actually walk down one of the ends.) When I got to the second floor, however, I only saw Orange Tree Cafe and asked the worker if there was another place that sold boba. The worker (Mexican) acted(?) as if she didn't speak English and directed me to her employer (Korean). I presume this is the owner so I ask her in Korean and she looked at me angrily and said, "Why? No!" Geez. I had been carrying my baby all day and was thirsty so I decided to just order a drink. The lady made it....... and it was literally the most disgusting boba I have ever had in my entire life. It was a blended drink and it was LUKEWARM and made me feel sick afterwards. I tasted it and threw it away before I even got to my car. It was SO disgusting. Ugh. Waste of money and left there with icky vibes. 2 Weeks later, I actually discovered the spot that is a legit juice/boba spot, and realize why that lady was so tense and rude when I asked her. I'm always looking for a good quiet place to get some caffeine and do some work. Finally I found this spot. Its a small quaint coffee shop hidden in the 2nd floor for the City Centre Mall, so its kind of hard to find. There are other cafe's in the mall, but this is what I like about this spot. 1) only about 3-4 tables, so its not going to get loud, and rarely see any kids in here. 2) they have outlets, which I need for my computer/phone, and for some reason, nobody else in the mall has outlets! 3) free wifi, and 4) the service here is excellent, really personable sweet people who always give you exactly what you want. On my last visit her I grabbed and Americano, and breakfast oatmeal. But since I read my friend Paul H's review about the breakfast burrito, got that too haha. Came here the other day for a quick bite to eat. It is located next to the food court in the Zion market Korean mall. Inside the cafe is small, with a couple tables. I got the artichoke spinach turkey panini with salad, and it tasted pretty good! Price is $7.50, and the dressing for the salad is pretty bomb too. One thing though I found common in their panini/sandwiches (got a club sandwich here before) is that she puts mushrooms and green peppers in the sandwich as well, which I don't really mind, but just a little different that what is commonly put in a sandwich, I guess... (It's on the second floor right after you get off the escalator.) It's a small little place, but the owner is very nice. Don't go there in a hurry, because there is only one person making the food so it may take a while. We all got Belgian waffles that only cost $6! And they are pretty big! They are topped with chopped almonds, bananas, strawberries, whip cream, and a chocolate sauce. Be sure to note if you have any allergies. The waffles were cheap and tasty! It's a one woman show here! She basically runs all the stuff- cashier, making sandwiches, making boba, anything. My friend and I were just killing time before our hair appointment and stumbled upon this little store. The woman behind the counter didn't seem very patient but then again her English skills were limited. We ordered the peach blended boba and chicken pesto panini. Both were very good and I highly recommend them!! Panini comes with a choice of chips or salad on the side. Orange Tree Cafe is a true hidden gem in the heart of Koreatown's City Center. I was introduced to this cafe by a friend since I needed a place close by to study (wifi a must) while also having delicious foods and tasty drinks at my disposal. For foods, I have tried the Chicken Pesto Panini, Artichoke Spinach Turkey Panini, Breakfast Burrito (yes they will make it anytime), and my faves - the Feta cheese walnut salad with the super good Basil vinaigrette dressing, and the homemade-style Belgian waffles with fresh whipcream and strawberries. Seriously, the dressing is so good. I wish they would sell it by the bottle! For drinks, the boba is legit as are the blended drinks (I've tried the caramel and coffee flavor so far). For coffee, I think they brew Gavina. They also have the regular fixings as well like chips, cookies, and sodas. All in all I love this cafe. I love me some fresh, healthy juice/smoothie and Orange Tree Cafe delivers at a great price! Green juice (my fav) and even fresh OJ which is great because most OJ sold in the store is horrible and held in tanks for up to a year with additives added to them later (which they don't have to say on the label). Hah sadly, I am not lying about this! And Orange Tree Cafe is keeping it fresh :) Anyways, they have paninis and get it with pesto, sooo good! Also their salad dressing is delicious. You leave here feeling full and not bloated and nasty like most lunch joints. I don't know, the owner is nice to me. Looking for a quick bite I picked this spot after reading other Yelp reviews. It's not a free standing cafe. It's located inside the City Center mall on the second floor. It's a small, unassuming cafe with good, healthy options and very affordable. It was lunch time but they still made me a breakfast burrito. I don't remember what was in it but walked away thinking this was proly the best tasting healthy breakfast burrito I've ever had. The melon cucumber juice was great. They basically just threw some honey dew melons and cucumbers in a Vita-mix and liquefied it. This new cafe opened on the 2nd floor (by the food court) in the City Center shopping mall off 6th street. It offers a variety of sandwiches, panini's, salads, and even breakfast burritos. They have all types of coffee/espresso drinks and even a few basic boba drinks. The milk tea wasn't overly sweet and I could actually taste THE TEA, unlike other boba shops. I also appreciated how the owner of the cafe asked me for my opinion on the taste -- she said she was trying to get feedback to tweak it a little, if need be. Prices are typical LA prices. You will pay 7+ for a salad. Tack on a drink and make it 10+. (I feel like the prices have more to do with the poorly managed City Center and their exorbitant rent... VEGGIE PANINI!!! The best damn thing on the menu. I drive over from Downtown during my lunch hour to pick it up.... it's THAT good. The only negative is that this place is super SLOOOOOOOOW.... she should really hire another worker during lunch. I usually call 30-45 minutes beforehand and sometimes it's ready, sometimes it isn't, so very hit or miss. Last time she forgot a pasta salad that I ordered and I couldn't just wait around for her to make it so didn't get to try it. I came back again. I got the chicken pesto panini. It was good. They're not amazing, but of course, remember this is a korean lady making sandwiches. I also got the a veggie juice-- i think it was the 6-mix one. Ginger, carrots, beets, etc. I've never had one of these, but the ginger was too strong. Sometimes I get the vibe that the lady running the place is angry or in a bad mood. I honestly don't think she means to give off a bad vibe, but I just don't think she knows any better. Don't get offended when she doesn't greet you at first. Actually, a customer who came in got angry at her for not greeting her. I finally stopped by today to take a break from work, having been incarcerated inside an office building all day, I really needed a caffeine fix. I've been meaning to pop by since I work nearby but just never really had the chance. Today I only got an Iced Americano and Coconut boba (with no boba). I spoke to the kind owner (I'm assuming she's the owner) with my broken Korean, explaining that I didn't want too much sugar in it if possible. She totally understood and told me she only uses agave (fancy!) and she would only put in a little bit. She even let me taste it to make sure it was right and it was!
