Friendly bartenders, reasonably priced, and very clean. They have darts, pool tables, beer pong, pinball, and a couple other games.

Yes, it's a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. Allusion is a beer oasis tucked between life's greatest challenges: renewing your license and resisting discount snacks. Inside, it's clean, cozy, and no frills, which is exactly what you want when the beer is doing all the talking. And let me tell you, the beer has a lot to say. We tried the 1810 Oktoberfest and As You Wish (which made me feel like I was being serenaded by Wesley from The Princess Bride), and both were excellent. We also grabbed a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and a Reuben, each paired with a cup of clam chowder that was creamy, comforting, and possibly made with magic (or butter, which is basically the same thing). The proprietor was friendly, knowledgeable, and doing everything short of brewing the beer mid-conversation. Honestly, if he'd started juggling pint glasses, I wouldn't have been surprised. Long story short: the beers are top-notch, the food hits the spot, and the vibe is low-key awesome. Allusion has earned a spot on our regular rotation, and possibly a spot in our hearts.

The owners are friendly and see to it that everyone is enjoying themselves and relaxing. They care about the community and often have fund raisers to help various causes. The popcorn machine is one of my favorite features and puts out a great FREE snack to go with your beer. And the beer is ALWAYS COLD which I love any day of the year !! They have an area with pool tables televisions and seating so you can watch your friends play. I would give them a "10" if they had a full working kitchen ! But they do put out various sandwiches, fries, fresh deli subs...that everyone seems to enjoy. The place is huge with plenty of room at the bar so you don't have to worry about not having a seat. They have a party like atmosphere for sports games to watch on 1 of the MANY t.v.s and even puts out a free buffet for when teams reach playoffs ! And they have a Jolly Roger flag that they raise with the help of patrons to pose with when our Pirates win ! There is always 1 or more of the 3 owners there mingling with the patrons and seeing to everyone's comfort!

Situated on North Park lake right next to the kayak livery with ample parking in the park, this is an ideal place to cool off and get some sustenance after your park activities. There is a bar area and indoor seating, as well as a nice waterfront patio with lots of tables with umbrellas if shade is needed. Good selection of craft and mass produced beer choices as well as other cocktails. Some interesting appetizers like spring rolls and house dip with chips as well as pretzel sticks and beer cheese. Main menu includes salads, burgers and sandwiches. The ranch is house made so don't forget a side for your fries!

There can be a wait during the lunch and dinner hours, but it's worth it. The first impressions are amazing. The inside is small but nicely decorated. Your eyes want to dart around and take in all of the elements that surround you. On our last visit, I was surprised by a bike hidden up in a ceiling nook I had never seen before. The whole restaurant has a breathtaking view of the man-made lake at North Park. Be sure to sit outside so you can take in as much of the view as possible. The atmosphere is abuzz with activity: there are runners taking on the 5-mile loop around the lake, there are kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders setting off to explore the far reaches of the lake, and there are birds and turtles and fish livin' their best life. My family and I have found our favorites on the menu: the Bike Lane BLT and the Chimichurri Chicken Bowl. Both are really good, but we tend to lean toward the BLT. It's just so unique! The kids' meals also come with a cute little surprise: the plate is a frisbee that they get to take home. How cool is that? North Park is easily one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh, and this is just another reason why.
