This place has had several changes in the past years. The hubby and I went last Friday night for some live music and drinks. We enjoyed the live music, two bands in one night, it was energetic, loud, and super busy. We ordered chicken wings, that were pretty good, but we didn't get plates or napkins. We asked for plates and napkins and waited for a while. The bar servers tried their best to come around, take orders and then go behind the bar to fill the orders. As they get busier their attention to service begins to wane and customers wait longer for their drinks and attention. There were several guys walking around clearing tables and bringing food, but attention to service is lacking. Why not dedicate bar tenders to make the drinks, serve beer and servers to tend to the customers? It may help to streamline the serving/services process. The staff was friendly and I could tell they tried their best. For that reason, I'd go back to listen to live music and have a glass of beer, but the place would benefit from some TLC and streamlining. read more

Not sure if the pour house has always been here, but we're so glad we found it! This particular night they had a live band called bad hombres. These guys were great!! My husband and I weren't drinking this night so we were pleasantly surprised when we found out they had non-alcoholic beer. We got here right before the kitchen closed, so unfortunately we were too late to order food. But it's okay because we had just had to dinner. A: this place looks like a dive bar. Not to say that's bad. They have a big seating area with a large bar in the middle. They do have two pool tables and also a stage that bands play quite often. They have events happening every day like bingo! F: The food was pretty. I had two hot dogs since they had a special going where if you buy a drink you get a hot dog free. I also had the buffalo wings which were also very tasty. They offer 34oz beers if you feeling extra thirsty. S: service was pretty slow to the point where food took about thirty minutes to arrive. I came to Pour House because I heard about an interesting blind dating show they were hosting. I think there were about 50-60 attendees so the restaurant was pretty much full. Because they were so busy, it was very hard to get an order in - and when we did, it took a very long time. There's pool tables, gender neutral restrooms, and they don't have their own parking lot but there's a good amount of street parking all around. They serve a lot of brunch/ lunch type foods here and have an ample drinks selection. Outdoor seating is also available. read more

My kids and I came here a couple of nights ago to watch a friend's band play. The music & set up were great as was the vibe and service. The main issue was the food, which was lackluster. My daughter had a cheeseburger & tater tots; my son had the fish & chips; I had a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The two burgers were mediocre, at best. I'be had better burgers at other places while the tater tots were decent. My son's fish tasted more like store-bought fish sticks but the fries were also decent. The stand-out were the onion rings. We also had a couple of drinks - whiskey sours which were pretty lackluster, as was my daughter's lemonade. Super snackable, shareable food, tasty drinks, and riding high energy as the Boys in Blue were literally knocking it out of the ballpark. We sat outside as we were a bit of a large party (6 of us, then some other friends joined). It was packed with great vibing Dodger fans as well as folks from the Farmers Market. The band was "Everyday People" who rocked the house in between the cheers with 70s soul classics and some jazz standards. I'll definitely go to see them again! But I digress...the place was hoppin'! So when I say we got pretty good service, that's saying something, as all the servers were giving the spilling out the door crowd all they had. With that said, patience was key. Food came out bits and pieces, drinks sometimes needed to be ordered directly at the bar, and extra items like napkins & ordered dips were reasked for and eventually brought. It was all hands on deck, so kudos to the busser to the wait staff to the bartenders to the cooks who all pitched in. No doubt we saw someone - possibly the manger - at the beer taps & helping coil cords to prepare for the next band up! ! Here are the highlights. 1. I just wanted to give a shout out to the lovely and hard working manager Tommie for takeing care of me and my party on this most recent visit. She did a excellent and wonderful job and remember's me from previous visit. I would come back for the excellent and wonderful service from Sydney, Rachel, Tommie and my man or dude Mark. Keep up the excellent and wonderful work everyone. 2. I ordered the Chicken Tenders. This is the third time that I have had the Chicken Tenders. And it's the best Chicken Tenders that I have ever had. Thank you the Pour House. I have had the Chick Tenders (three times), Chicken Tender Sandwich, Classic Cheese Burger and Tacos. Who knows? If you're looking to watch some Sunday football, look no further. This place is freaking awesome. Not only do they have great food but they also offer bottomless, mimosas, nuff said. We came here on a Sunday. Kristen was our server, by the way, she is awesome and super attentive, and willing to go above and beyond for our needs and wants. We ordered pizza, a hamburger, and a bunch of tater tots. They were all amazing. It's all perfect place to get finger food or just to have a good time while you're watching the game. Came here on a Friday night for drinks and this place was super busy. They had some live music, dancing, and a few billiards tables. They have a good selection of beers on tap. We ordered tater tots, onion rings, and fried pickles to share. By far one of the best tater tots I have had. Tater tots and onion rings were super crispy. The onions did not pull out of the breading when you ate them which is a plus. Fried pickles were good as well but they come with marinara sauce. My two stars are for ambiance and band I came to see play Rory Seldon with Innersession. Nice size bar with pool tables and pin ball machines in the back. I can't speak for drink quality because I'm pregnant. My soda came in a can, so no ice with it. Ok service. They are slow!!!! Don't expect your food in a timely manner. My mom ordered fish and chips. Her fish was burnt, but she didn't send it back because it would take too long for a remake. I'm still waiting for my nacho as I type this lol. None of the servers know where to drop the food. We came in for a few cold drinks and were completely ignored. We sat at the bar and the extra sugary elderly guy who looked kinda fit (with help of lots of steroids, botox and growth hormone ) never once acknowledged us. He looked like he would be the owner and later on we found out he actually is. Three other waiter and waitress also kept passing us by not even saying hello or "be right with you". After 25 minutes I decide to try flag someone down. I had to raise my voice and wave my arms in the air like a football referee or an airline director to finally get one of to reluctantly come to us. Mind you it was half empty so they were not busy. But we did notice the elderly owner guy and the waitresses chatting it up with certain people that they seemed to already know. We felt very alienated and had to work hard at flagging them down for every little thing. It was clear we were not welcome there and the food tasted horrible to boot. The salsa tasted like it came from those great value walmart jars. It took almost an hour for our food and drinks. I had ask for a cup of ice for the beer because it was room temperature and nasty. The ice took another 20 minutes so my beer was completely warm by then. The food and drinks are way overpriced and not good at all. The customer service was even worse. The band Everyday People was good but we will go see them at a better venue than this. We definitely wont be coming back to this place as it is clear that the owner prefers a certain type of ethnicity of customer. I tried flagging down so many different people to help including the elderly owner guy and he went out of his way to ignore us. I remember saying "excuse me sir!!!" loud enough for other customers to turn and look and this guy is steady going out of his way to ignore us. Like so many of the other 1 and 2 star reviews say, a certain type of customer is preferred over the rest. Have a look at all the 1 and 2 star reviews going back to 2021 and you will see a reocurring pattern of the same complaints over and over by many different people - discrimination towards LatinX, Asian and African American customers over multiple years' time. This dehumanizing and degrading treatment of paying customers is nastier than the food. This business wont last. And after having googled the owner and seen the numerous lawsuits he has been involved in none of this is surprising. Dont worry Joey or whatever the owners name is- we will avoid your Pour house aka Trash House at all costs and will tell others to steer clear too. Stick to mopping floors, but we suspect you probably fail at doing that too. To the Yelp! Community: If you aren't unambigiously snow-lilly Pilgrim whyte dont bother - you will be subjected to nasty, subtle microaggressions by not just the staff but the owner himself. The girl didn't check on us. She was just in the kitchen talking to someone for a long time. Then she went at the bar and continued talking to another employee who just ignored us (please see picture as proof). We ordered a pepperoni pizza, Chicken Fajita Torta sandwich, and tater tots. The pizza was good. The sandwich and tots are disappointing. The sandwich was bland and there's very little chicken in it. The tots were cold and not crispy. It was the first time I had soft tots! Who messes up tater tots? You just deep fry the thing! We asked for a refill and it took a long time before we got the drinks. Some restaurants are proactive with the refills. She didn't even give us/offered water. It's so sad coming in excited and leaving disappointed. Not a good meal. Not a good experience. Very poor customer service. I do not recommend. read more

We decided to check out downtown Monrovia to get some drinks and food. While driving by we saw lots of people hanging out inside and outside of The Pour House. There was also a live band playing some great oldies and doowop. We literally just walked in and...Wow!!! Such a great vibe and amazing mix crowd. We sat at the bar and ordered a pizza and a watermelon margarita. The drink was recommended by the bartender and it did not disappoint. The pizza came out fast and tasted fresh and delicious. First time here tonight. Lots of good, but few things on the downside as well to point out. For the bad: -no diet soda available. Might want to consider that for patrons who are unable to drink sugary drinks but would like to have a soda. -we asked for chicken wings, and they didn't have any tonight. On a Saturday night? -restroom didn't have soap. Container was empty. -our server was very cute but seemed very unhappy working tonight. Just got such a bad vibe. Could just be an off day. -wings were super burned. Like terribly burned. My Husband enjoyed them but I think they could have tried harder. Yesterday was our second time here, and both times were disappointing for various reasons. They list 50% off appetizers from 4 - 6:daily. That's the only good news. Both times, we came in at 4, and the place was very warm and a bit stuffy, with just a fan by the door; NO A/C! The first time we were told, by the server, she didn't know if she could turn on the A/C since the owner wasn't there. Really? The owner arrived later, and apologized for the "misunderstanding " with the help, and turned it on. The 2nd time, guess what? We came in at 4, there was no A/C, no owner, and NO apology for the heat and stuffiness. PS, same server. I don't know what the problem is, but I'm going to assume this is how they make up for the loss of revenue from the first 2 hours of 1/2 price food, by saving electricity. Last night we ordered some, but not all of our food at once, since a couple of us weren't ready. A few minutes later, we were told the cook suddenly had to leave due to illness, allegedly, and the partial order we gave was all we'd be getting. Great. So no owner, no cook, and no food for some of us. But, we were told, they'd try to get someone else in to cook, but no idea if or when that would be. The food is dicey at best. First time, I had a decent quesadilla. Last night, I had the worst excuse for an LA Street dog ever....an almost burnt bun, and no bacon wrapped hot dog, but instead, some bacon crumbs sprinkled on it. SAD. On top of all this, we were constantly swatting away flies! Lastly, when the check came, the prices were not 1/2 off, and we had to "remind" the server to adjust the bill.
