I wanted to get some food after my pedicure and did not want to go far I saw La Sexy Michelada and it was totally worth it! Ooof! First of all I walked in and they have high top table seating which I love! The waitress greeted me and said I can choose where to sit she brought over the meñus alongside chips and salsa. I noticed they have 7tvs in there and they were broadcasting sports so it might be something to think about for the upcoming fifa games (: I browsed through the meñu and couldn't decide! They serve breakfast chilaquiles breakfast burritos, fajitas, seafood, tacos, cocktails d camaron and of course a Michelada meñu. I went ahead and ordered the shrimp tacos and a agua d piña (pineapple) to drink since I was driving I couldn't order a michi but I'll be back soon to try! Anyways my food got to the table and omg they hook it up with shrimp on top and purple onion and avocado! It was so tasty the tacos are under all that and they were nice and cheesy filled with shrimp which is sautéed in their own garlic oil type of mixture. Came here for my dad's birthday dinner because he was craving garlic shrimp. Here's a run down of my experience: Campechana and Mixed Ceviche: My party couldn't pick between the two so we ordered both. The shrimp cocktail and ceviche was super fresh and came with a generous portion size. Probably one of the best ceviches I've ever had. Garlic Shrimp: My dad wasn't too crazy about it. I think he was hoping the shrimps would be bigger. Unsure if he will be ordering in the future. Overall, great place for ceviche and happy hour beers. My only note is that the service was really lacking and inattentive. One of the waitresses was on their phones and standing around throughout her shift. She looked bothered when we flagged her down to ask for and collect the check. Other than the mediocre service, it was a decent experience. Friday evening, we tried Mexican Food in Monrovia. This is my first time but few times for others. It's not big restaurant and I like the seating. They also have a lady turned on music and she also sang. Menu looks interesting with pictures to help me decide the dish. I picked Mojarra (Al Mojo De Ajo). It came with orange rice, mashed baked beans, salsa, slice of avocado, and one fried fish with a bowl of garlic butter and tortillas. I think the fish is tilapia. It was delicious. A lot of chopped garlic. Good for sharing because it was a large dish. Kid ordered Cheese Burger and Fried. I ordered can of coke and it came with an ice cold glass. I was in the area and got a craving for Aguachiles I looked around on Yelp and La Sexy Michelada came up with good reviews so I gave it a shot. I ordered ahead of time while I shopped at Trader Joe's down the street and by the time I was done, my order was ready for pick up. The waitress was extremely friendly and had everything set up and ready to go. The place itself is a small divey bar/cantina, a super hole in the wall place with parking in the back and street parking in the front. It is easy to access though if you enter from the back you have to go down a sort of creepy open air hallway of different businesses to get to them. The price was very reasonable for Mariscos and my husband the Aguachile connoisseur actually liked them. I tasted them and the shrimp felt fresh not tough or chewy. This was such a quant and nice atmosphere to meet with friends. Music wasn't too loud, drinks were delicious, I had the mojito and it hit the spot. I ordered a vegan burrito but the waitress brought one with cheese on accident but staff was kind enough to take it back and make me a brand new one that was so perfect, with cactus in it. We walked in and immediately were greeted by the wonderful woman tending to everyone. We ordered La Guerrerense michelada and my husband ordered La Sexy michelada both delicious Husband and I both ordered an asada taco. So good!!! Crispy charred meat and tortilla was also crisp. Perfection. He also ordered quesabirria tacos con consomé and the meat was so tender to perfection. He was in love with it he said "you must have some" and I tried and it did not disappoint. Went on a Saturday early afternoon. First time here. Only one other table was taken. The place is smaller than I imagined. I parked next door (but not their lot, oops) I ordered the michelada with the shrimp on top. It was yummy and the shrimp were huge!! I ordered the Guerrerense tacos which are basically tacos governador but OMG they were Aaamazing!! Full of flavorful garlic shrimp inside and outside! It was $22 for 3 tacos but so worth it because it was so full of delicious shrimp!! My sister ordered the coctel de camaron and it was full of nice crunchy shrimp and absolutely delicious and worth ordering! Our waitress was the sweetest, but I forgot to ask for her name. Nice, little spot. I always get food to go but one night I noticed they actually have live dj which was cool. The shrimp empanadas are bomb but with the serrano salsa and chipotle. We tried the Molcajete--definable shareable and it was delicious! The pork belly tacos were good too. We tried the shrimp empanadas and they were very flavorful and went very well with the aguachile sauce but it also came with chipotle creamy sauce that was tasty. GO HERE. The micheladas are big and only $15.99, even with all the fixings, the portions are huge, the music is fun and loud, and it's great for celebrations with friends! The waitress was super friendly and attentive. We ordered the margarita flight and michelada with the shrimps to start. Everything came out nice and cold and the michelada with a modelo negra, was a great day to wind down after a long day of meetings. Afterwards we both ordered the shrimp cocktail to share and we each othered the mixed seafood ceviche. Big portions, we honestly would've been fine with just one of each, but that just meant my friend had leftovers for the next day. I have eaten at this place several times and I kept testing to see if they would keep giving me small portions on burritos and also see if their street tacos were full of fat chunks. They failed to accomplish a simple solution. To give people what they pay for. On the street tacos they sell at this establishment be prepared to have burned meat or fat chunks. Dry tortillas, not moist tacos with abundant meat. The burritos be prepared to have more rice and beans and only a small amount of beef or shrimp or meat. They basically sell bean and rice burritos it's a FACT. Go try it yourself and you will see. It's most likely their business practice. The setting or ambiance is not recommended for accessibility because the establishment has narrow walk ways and paths. The seating is high (stools) and it will get loud if that is not your kind of place. This whole review is solely based on food portions. Please give people what they pay for. Whether they are hot plates street tacos or burritos. There are better street tacos on the street corners daily on mayflower and Huntington drive another on California and Huntington and lastly another on mountain and Huntington drive. Go to those street tacos and burritos and they will give you what you pay for. Gave this place the benefit of the doubt but they failed to deliver. When we arrived only a couple were seated inside, we walked out to the side patio to sit because their music was blaring. They told us to come back in and they turned down the music.
