First time in this new food hall, a bit of a challenge to figure out the parking but once you've done it, it's really easy. You use your phone to scan the bar code and register your vehicle with your tag number, you get the first 90 minutes for free. It's a multi-level deck operated by the City of Rock Hill just a short walk to the Food Hall. If the weather is bad, you'll be in it as there is no tunnel or covered walk way access. The Power House is adjacent to the Cambria Hotel and the Nest which is off-campus apartments for Winthrop University. Multiple food options available. If you are looking for beverages, there is a Middle James Brewing location here. Also in the Food Hall is the Power House bar with many HDTV's. They have a nice selection of local craft beers. They serve quesadillas which is the only food option. I had the Chilango Mexican. They serve street tacos which is code for small and they only serve corn tortillas. Not my fav because they disintegrate before you can finish eating them. I had the chicken, barbecue and beef and they were OK. They come with cilantro and onions. There is an up charge for lettuce, cheese and tomatoes but the salsa is included which was pretty tasty. I understand there will be a second location for Epic Steakhouse here which is slated to open before year end. There is lots of outside seating with shade and piped in classic rock music, oh yeah! You can see my photo of the outside music stage which is near the main entrance and access from the first and second floor. There is also access to outside restrooms. The power plant which supplied coal fired energy to the textile mill was built in 1930 and employed 20% of Rock Hill residents. This is a fairly new "food hall" in Rock Hill...and well, for starters, I'm glad this little town actually has one now! To start on a good note, this place definitely has some merits...with its comfy patio seating area. Unfortunately, since it's so hot right now, nobody was able to enjoy their outdoor accommodations. So...this review is based strictly on the indoor portion. I must get frank. I thought the place could have been much nicer if the floorings were done. The way it is, it's very raw, rough...industrial (??). The place is spacious enough, with some cool architectural points (high ceilings, floating windows??), but something about the place just doesn't feel sleek and sophisticated...rather, clunky. I don't know, I've seen some super-snazzy food halls throughout U.S...and this one is quite modest at best. Also, on a super-hot day (90+ degrees!), they had this one big window open...so on one side of the food hall, it was too hot/humid. WHY did they have the windows open on a day like this?!? Ridiculous! One more thing. The place isn't "distributed" well (I can't find the right word!)...in that one half of the place has all the windows, and all the action (bar, band, etc.etc.)...and the other part is all blocked in (with no winows, no decor, no action). However, the part that was blocked in was much cooler (in temperature!), so that's where we chose to hang out. Again, the vibe was kinda weird...just "clunky" all over. Definitely not one of the better food halls I've seen. Even my husband agreed that he expected more...better...nicer. BTW, not sure if it's only on weekend nights, but they did have an acoustic guitar player near the bar area. However, you really can't hear the music that well if you're seated on the other half of the food hall. There's about half a dozen vendors. Not many, but a good, diverse selection. BTW, the name of each vendor was not displayed well enough. The names were just subtly embedded into the walls...barely visible when walking by. Why, I wonder?? Anyway, the one that I chose to try was the Naroodle Chibi (Japanese, of course!). My husband tried Chilango (Mexico, always his Go-To!). Sadly, my husband hated the tacos from Chilango. I agreed with him...the tacos were toy-sized, and looked terrible. I asked him if they tasted as bad as they looked...and sadly, his answer was "YEP". Never again. Fortunately, I liked my choice a bit better. Naroodle had a VERY limited menu. Only 2 appetizers (chicken or veggie gyoza), and 4-5 types of ramen. No Bao Buns, nothing else! They DID, however, have this super-cute Teddy Bear bottled Thai Tea!! LOVED this lol! I went with their most unique BBQ Ramen...very Southern fusion, I guess. It was fairly good, with an unusual BBQ taste...my first "fusion" ramen! I also tried their veggie gyoza. It was O-Kay...but not even close to being as good as the version I tried in GA recently (at Slurpin' Ramen). Honestly, my favorite part was their Teddy Bear Thai Tea! I must admit, however, that it wasn't as sweet as most Thai Teas...and could have been served a bit colder as well. Maybe I should have done a separate review for the Naroodle Chibi?? In any case, I liked the foods O-Kay at Naroodle Chibi...but they were just passably good. Again, my husband thought the tacos at Chilango weren't even passable. Despite the underwhelming foods (both taste and presentation - in paper/plastic get-ups!), they were WAY overpriced. We also tried ice cream at The Local Scoops, another one of their vendors...and well, here, the prices were a bit more reasonable. However, I didn't quite love it. The ice cream had a thick, super-sticky consistency...and well, just not that delicious (to me, anyway!). Overall, I just didn't think anything we tried were too impressive. We did agree to return and try them at least one more time in the future...if for anything, to check out their nice outdoor patio scene. Am thinking THAT may be the big redemption for this place...given the "clunky" indoor space and the way-too-pricey-yet-underwhelming foods we tried. I'm hoping I can upgrade this review on my next visit...when we can actually sit outside, and enjoy their patio scene. read more

Great spot to come if you cannot decide what you want for dinner (especially if there are a few of you trying to decide). There are only a few options (with several stalls that are empty, which is why I left a star off, and to be honest, I wish I could give another half off for that, but oh well). We have only had the ramen there, and boy, was it tasty! There can be a bit of a wait for the food, but you can go up to the bar and have a drink while you wait (or sit outside). The location is great and it seems that they put on events quite often, and it is family friendly as well. It is a great addition to the Rock Hill area and a nice change of another restaurant or fast food. I hope to see more food / vendors come into this location read more

Awesome place to come hangout and have drinks with a wide selection of different foods. I've tried 3 of the restaurants and also the ice cream and all have been delicious and super quick. The atmosphere here is wonderful and the design is so cool with the infusion of the industrial, historic design and a modern flair. One thing that really stood out to me was the atrium lighting hanging from the ceiling. Also all the colors really add to the vibes. Other food halls I've been to, I've always had a problem finding seating where I want. At the powerhouse, they have ample seating even at peak hours. I also took a tour of the apartments with an awesome leasing agent (Cassie?) and the units are so unique. Every apartment was different and had parts of the original building incorporated into each room. They also have 3 story units which I have never seen in any other apartment in the area. Even if you aren't in the market for an apartment, I would highly recommend taking a tour of the space with a leasing agent as they are super friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the space. All in all, this place is an outstanding feat of design and innovation and I would recommend everyone to go. read more

Neat concept but confusing, pay to park in this area with only 4-5 choices is not a recipe for success. What ever parking revenue is being generated is far off set by revenue being thwarted from the vendors. I think these vendors will struggle, unless operators figure out this location is not a pay to park site-period. Free and easy is the answer. Too many other options. read more

The food isn't worth the price at any of the restaurants. Every time I go to the bar, they say their olives are moldy so they can't make me a martini. For almost a year, I've tried the restaurants here. The only redeeming quality is their ice cream restaurant. read more

Two days in a row went to check out this new venue, beyond a doubt too little parking and all of it appears to be a pay to park. Speaking as a local, between the paid parking, crowds and small parking spaces we will pass. Have been keeping my distance from the power house due to negative reviews and the parking situation. Well parking was much easier than people make it out, find garage A and 2 hrs are free!!!! We chose to try Ms. Lillian's kitchen and the local scoop for our first time here. Ms. Lillian's not only didn't disappoint, but the red beans and rice was the best I've ever had, and the fires catfish was fresh out of the fryer and had amazing breading. The chicken tenders and honey mustard was also quite tasty! The ice cream was a good treat! Nice flavor and consistency. The patio in nice and the interior is quite clean and open. Definitely will be back to try out more food! (And to get that fried catfish again) read more

The upside of the Power House Food Hall is that it is a great concept and has a huge potential. Renovation work is well done blending the old and new into a modern dining space. That said the food vendors appear to have a bit more to do before it becomes a great place for service and food. Went there for dinner, my wife had a burger from Flip Out. Average at best, lettuce was limp, burger overcooked and sweet potato fries soggy. Not a great start for a first visit. I chose Naroodle Chibi. It appeared to be understaffed judging by how long it took myself and others who had ordered to get their food. Once it was delivered the ramen was just barely ok. Temperature was hardly warm, tepid, although the pork and broth both had good flavor. Ordered chicken gyoza, again taste was good but appears to be previously cooked and rewarmed. Chewy and rubbery with the dumpling. There was certainly potential in both dishes but execution was not there. As I said previously, I I believe the Power House Food Hall, with its ambiance, location and proximity to apartments and sports will become a great place for food and entertainment. However, food quality and timeliness of service will need to improve before I will consider it a regular stop on my food circuit in Rock Hill. read more

All in all it is pretty mids it's okay for something new in Rock Hill but could definitely use some better restaurants the ramen place is pretty good but I felt like I needed a cheeseburger after my ramen they portions could definitely be a little bigger read more
