I visited Hobo's on Sunday because I was conducting a promotion for a featured Whiskey brand. Evan, the manager was extremely welcoming and personable. He was extremely professional and accommodating throughout my visit. He even offered to feed me! The restaurant is nice and has an incredible outdoor patio and seating area. There is onsite parking beside and behind the restaurant. The customers and staff were all really nice. After a late round of Sunday golf at Fort Mill, Michelle & I stopped in for dinner here around 6p, it was very busy! We sat outside in the heated are at the bar and shared the egg roll appetizers which were very good and plenty for 2 to share. Michelle had the shrimp tacos and I had the build your own salad. The service was great even though it was so busy they told us the kitchen was backed up with orders. I visited Hobo's late on a Tuesday afternoon. I was expecting it to be fairly empty as it was around 3 so between the lunch and dinner crowds. But it seems we had three large families walked in shortly before us. So the wait staff was stretched thin but the manager and our waitress both apologized for any delay. Once we got seated and our drink orders taken things moved more swiftly. The restaurant itself was nice. Lots of tables and booths also a big bar you can sit at including a large outdoor area. To start we got a sweet tea and I tried one of their spiked milkshakes! The sweet tea was just right and the milkshake was very good. A nice hit of alcohol in it with real chucks of ice cream! As usual for me, I had to try the Chicken and waffle sandwich! There were pieces of bacon in the batter that made the waffle and a large piece of deep fried chicken. The sandwich ate a bit dry so I asked for some syrup to pour over the waffle. It did come with a maple aioli but I just prefer regular syrup. The hand cut fries were thick but hot and fully cooked. Very good! My mom ordered the build your own burger instead of getting one of their many signature burgers. Her meal came thick and stacked and juicy! An amazing looking burger and she loved the onion strings. Next time I go back I think I wanna try The Wanderer burger because it looks very good! We also ordered a burger to go for my dad and our waitress was so good, she put the order in as our meals came out, so when we finished the togo burger came out and it was super hot! Amazing service! Chicken was season perfectly, Waffles had bacon crumbles, Fries were lightly salted. I was greeted shortly after arriving and was served well within the time given when order placed. Three of us stopped in for lunch on a busy Wednesday about 1pm. Their brick lined wide open space allows for almost a complete 360 view of entire restaurant, bar and TV's. Our server was pleasant and attentive constantly checking in and refilling beverages. Has Philly cheesesteak with Mac and cheese, onion soup chicken with slaw and chicken Ceasars salad. Overall it was an ok experience here, but I would entertain the thought of coming back. A party of 4 adults and 2 kids we got an array of items. Their version of the Patty Melt, the chicken tenders, and their version of the Bacon Cheeseburger. Sides were fries, onion rings, and mac n cheese. They were pretty busy yet food came out in respectable time. I ordered my burger medium but it was medium-well done, no slight pink, and it was over salted too. Size was respectable, the burger had some good thickness. And we like it thick, don't we? The fries were barely warm and not crispy, wasn't happy so escalated to the waitress who came back with 2 "fresh" baskets of fries which we appreciated. They were better, I think our original fries sat in the bin longer than they should have and should not have been served. But she fixed it. Where do I start?! This place was amazing, ample parking in the back, we were greeted warmly by host and walked promptly to a table of our choice. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful with explaining menu items and being patient with us while we decided. My mom and I got cocktails, both were nice, light, and delicious! We ate outside and it was beautifully decorated. We ordered the trio sampler...the potato app, fried banana peppers, and the fried pimento cheese! All absolutely wonderful and it came out quickly! Came with three different and TASTY sauces. We ordered burgers and fries for our meals and wow, I've not had a burger like that in a long time!!!! You can actually taste the fresh ingredients and tell they don't skimp you, but instead use quality everything, which makes the taste exquisite!!!! It is all very elevated and unique, I love the variety available on the menu. The staff were all kind, helpful, and sweet. We will absolutely be back!!!!! The fried pimento cheese bites were my fave, and you cannot go wrong with a big, fat, juicy burger here!!!! So, so happy we tried this place and can't wait to come back soon to try more yummy food! Ambience was lively, very busy for a Thursday which meant the food must be good. Service was great for how busy it was, I had 2 beers and our waitress was great to make sure I was satisfied. Place is kind of gross and sticky. I ordered a burger medium it came out raw. The manager there has a terrible attitude. She asked me how I wanted it cooked and I said medium well that time. She said it'll still have pink if done that way, insinuating that I ordered it wrong. So I said sure well done then. They cooked it so long that you could bounce it off the floor. Probably because they were mad I complained. The last time we were there my mom's rice was crunchy in her bowl and they were rude as well and basically said that's how they make it and the cooks did nothing wrong. My wife and I were in Rock Hill around noon so we stopped at Hobo's. I have to say we were quite impressed. I had a patty melt and she ordered the fried fish (cod) sandwich. The patty melt was the best one I've had in a long time. Burger meat was quite tasty, not bland like so many places offer. The fish had a really nice and crispy breading. Our experience here was excellent! We stopped in at 11:30am on a sunday and were quickly seated. The patio was already pretty full but luckily we got a table. They have picnic tables off the deck as well as a "kiddy" grassy area and a decent amount of seating inside. They have a great craft beer selection, really fun cocktails and a variety of daily specials. I had a mimosa then a peach margarita which was delicious. The steak tacos were fantastic!! Second time I have gotten food from here one time years ago which was horrible. Uncomfortable seating. Burger came out burned and inside cold. Finally gave in the other day and it was just as bad as before. The grill needs to be cleaned. Burgers should not be completely black and hard. My dog didn't even like it. The food is good but the portions keep getting smaller while the price continues to increase. I understand everything is going up but 10 dollars for fried cheese...thats a bit much. Service is okay, but hostess situation is not great usually. The metal chairs on the concrete floors were not thought out AT ALL. This is one of my staples and has been for a long time! Love the atmosphere, love the staff, love the food! My kids and I come here often and I bring my dogs here too! The sunrise burger is incredible and so are the shrimp tacos (and everything else). You can't go wrong picking here. read more

The cooks (old white guy, young white guy & black guy with dreads) and the waiter a younger mixed guy kept pointing at me and my wife snickering and laughing after we started to eat our meal. When I looked at them questioning they gave me menacing stares that made me feel threatened. Then as we leaving the same waiter smirked and said, "hope you enjoyed." This popular hangout has a roomy bar that seats 18, a dozen HDTV screens and great patio overlooking a green area for frolicking kids. I'm sure it is fun place to grab a beer with friends but, like a lot of sports bars, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Now, based on their mediocre Yelp ratings, I didn't expect an unforgettable 5-star culinary adventure, but I did expect much more than was delivered. Their menu highlights their burgers, priced $8 to $11, so I went the safe route and ordered a regular burger with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles and a side of fries. As my photo illustrates, the fries were so drenched with oil that I was only able to eat only a couple. Now, I know all fries are somewhat greasy, but these were swimming in oil. The burger did "appear" appetizing. It was certainly 8 or ounces or so, and the brioche bun looked tasty; however, the bun was so stale that when I bit into it, it crumbled. Now, I realize that I can be a bread-snob but in my mind, the bun can either make or break even the best of burgers. In this case, it did not bode well for the rest of the burger, which I decided to eat breadless. Hey, at least it was healthier! The meat itself was somewhat gristley and, based on its bright pink center throughout, was cooked to medium rare to medium although I ordered it medium well. Even the lettuce (wilted baby greens) and tomato left a lot to be desired. I know, I know... I could have sent it back but, with everthing wrong with it, I felt I'd be rolling the dice. Plus, quite simply, I shouldn't have to. In fairness, my friend enjoyed his grilled cheese with bacon (although he had the same oil saturated fries.) Service-wise, our young waitress was friendly enough, but left with us with hanging with an empty tea glass a couple of times. So, in conclusion, would I return for a beer on the patio? Sure I would, but I'd also make darn sure to eat elsewhere before I got there. read more

Great little place on the corner of Main Street! Nice place to stop for a quick lunch and some great vibes. So many different options for all palates! We were seated immediately (both indoor and outdoor options) and our server was great. As for the food, the burger was slightly overcooked! Simple fix, no big deal. Beware if you sit outside that there are quite a few bugs and flies that will try and get your food. Nice outdoor patio. There are a mix of high top tables and low tables. There are umbrellas for some shade. Turf area for kids to hang and picnic tables in that area to eat. The kids cheese burger and onion straws were delicious. Topped it off with a delicious strawberry milk shake. They have adult milk shakes if you like. First time at Hobo's in Ft. Mill for dinner on a Friday night. Parking was a bit hard to find because there are several restaurants in the area. We didn't wait too long for a table and our sever Lamont came over after a few minutes. He was very nice and took our order promptly. The food came out pretty quickly. The portions were ample. My son had the Locomotive burger which included a hamburger patty, bbq and onion strings. He enjoyed it very much. I had the turkey melt which included slices iof turkey and not turkey deli slices. I had homemade chips which were delicious. My husband liked his Philly cheesesteak but said it could have used more aioli. The atmosphere was noisy but casual.
