I hate to give one star, but even that is generous. I went to see Ghost last night and it was a disaster. To start, they only accept cash at the bar and they don't have a working ATM. Unless you are close to the stage, you're pretty much screwed. There are 3 huge beams obstructing the view of the stage. If you are standing on the 21+ side, there are several obnoxious blinding lights shining down on you, making it even harder to see the stage, also killing any kid of enjoyable atmosphere. Meanwhile in the bathroom, there was one drunk girl passed out on a couch and another throwing up in the stall. Both paper towel machines were broken. The security guards were standing around the bathroom (it's one of those community washrooms), watching me touch up my make-up, giving me thumbs up. Awkward. There was a drunk guy stumbling around bleeding from his face. He was kicked out, but then let back in 20 minutes later. Really? This venue could be great but it is so poorly managed. Went to Raw Phoenix (art/fashion show/concert) last night at The Pressroom.. nice mix of events and people. Staff pleasant and helpful. Venue perfect size for event. Initially concerned about area but it seemed perfectly safe, at least for this event.. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again. read more

Pressroom?? More like Prom-room...very amateur venue, not what we expected from an old industrial warehouse downtown. Felt like we were in an MTV episode of My Sweet 16, or a 90s teen flick prom scene. Couldn't even wait it out to see one of our favorite bands play. Cool venue. Lots of space. Boo boo VIP section. Not enough seating. Lots of choices at the bar but too much effort to walk through the crowd and over there, then wait in line. We bought VIP tix but I don't feel there are any real perks...not sure if that's the fault of the concert organizer tho. Venue has major potential. Came out for Juice Wrld, doors opened 6 PM. We arrived 6:15, line wrapped around the building. Stood in line to get in for 2 hours and 5 mins. No exaggeration. Totally insane. Venue OK, small outdoor central stage. Good view from courtyard. Just come early and be prepared to wait. read more

I attended the opening night of The Pressroom & Scandalesque's Fever. Scandalesque was great as usual, and I was impressed with The Pressroom itself. The venue is large but doesn't feel overwhelming, the bars are well-staffed and - finally - a venue with more than 2 ladies' bathroom stalls (no waiting!). The space is flexible and can accommodate aerialist rigging but could be quickly reconfigured for a more traditional club setting. I think it's a promising flex-space for downtown. read more

I love this venue. Inside and outside, huge bar and tons of stations so you don't end up waiting long at all! Bathrooms inside are a huge plus! Most raves don't have bathrooms. VIP area could be better inside of off to the side so much, you can't hear the music as well because VIP is to the side... Other than that no complaints, I loved the show I went to and will definitely be watching out for more shows at this venue! read more

Beautiful and spacious venue and it is right downtown. I love the space, staff and cleanness of this place. I have been very impress every time we go to the Pressroom in phoenix we always have a great time. This place is awesome and the service is great. They have a huge beautiful outdoor patio and they always have fun events so make sure you keep eyes on their calendar events. Security is there to help and they were very kind escorting me to the restrooms before I got in line without any hesitation. The sound system is amazing we went for different events we never was disappointed. The dance floor is another reason why we love to go to the pressroom its spacious and everybody can dance without being uncomfortable. Prices are affordable water was 2$ and cocktails was 5-7$ just like everywhere else.Thank you for making us feel welcome we will be back shortly read more

Great to have an open large funky space (could've been in hometown NYC), with additional touches & time will be premier spot in Phoenix for performance, dancing, competitions, dancing...& dancing (without being forced to meld with too many others in the usual cramped spaces). Scandalesque gave great show, terrific dancers & athletes & aint bad lookin (girls & boy), & will be regulars at the location. So here we are all outside in our the heat waiting for security to let us in when there is a big waiting area inside the place. We can't come in. We can't use a restroom. Great venue with a good sound system. So many other venues are disappointing when it comes to audio, so seeing a show at The Pressroom is always a treat- it is one of my favorite places to see a show in downtown Phoenix. In addition, the staff and security team have always been super friendly. Thus far, I've enjoyed shows such as Flume, Kevin Gates, Afroman and Troyboi....Looking forward to catching a show at this venue again soon. read more

After waiting in line almost two hours, we were denied entrance to Juice Wrld with the door person saying we were "not on the list." He could not explain what list. We had tickets and verification of purchase and were still not allowed in. I learned later that my friend was also denied entrance until she gave the doorman $20 to let her in. I have attempted to contact staff at the Pressroom and consistently receive a message that the mailbox is full. So...we were not able to see a concert that I was psyched to see and I somehow have to receive a refund for my tickets. I have been to many different venues in AZ and never have had such an experience. If I were booking a venue, this would not be the place even if it were the only one available. Prices are reasonable but there were only 4 tables with 2 chairs each. I love seeing live bands but sometimes have issues standing for long periods of time. We were therefore 30 minutes before doors opened and were unable to get s table. Last time there were at least twice as many tables. read more

I was here for to see a samba competition. Doors opened at 11 am but we were waiting outside for about half an hour after, but it wasn't too bad. Once inside the place was very spacious, and I felt like I had entered a club. I almost forgot it was day time. There was a dj playing, drinks at the bar, and a buffet style food option. I saw a sign that said mimosas were $5, so I ordered two and gave the bartender my card. He charged me $16, so I don't know if the sign was wrong or if he overcharged me. It was a good mimosa though (mostly champagne!) So I didn't mind much. Seating was comfortable enough and it was easy to see the stage. Overall it was a good experience. read more

So I went to The Pressroom for my first time yesterday for You're Welcome fest. Once I got up to security I was told I had to throw away my sealed pack if cigarettes and lighter because it was a "non-smoking" event. I thought alright, it's a 16+ concert I get it. Well the second I get into the venue I look directly across the floor and see a patio full of people smoking cigarettes and a kiosk set up by the door selling pack and lighters for $10! Are you serious!?! What was the issue with my cigarettes and lighter and why wasn't I allowed to bring them in? There was also never a notice on the tickets saying anything about it being a non smoking event. I'm not sure if I just had some jerk checking me in at security or if it's some messed up scheme to get more money out of attendees either way I'm not impressed read more

The Pressroom could be a great venue if they figured out how to make good shitty drinks (we are not asking for the moon, just decent liquor), if they figured out a way to not make the venue feel like an empty cave when it isn't a sold out show, and if men weren't patted down like they're being arrested. Went to this location to watch the Vigina Monologues. The staff was nice and helpful and the show was amazing. However the parking is an issue, I think it sets the whole thing for short of a stressful experience. The parking lot is sketchy and fills up quickly. The street parking meters are only for one hour. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable, and while watching the show the bartenders were throwing what sounded like empty water bottles into the trash as well as print ice loudly into recipients. It made it very distracting and noisy. read more

Came here to see Netsky perform a few weeks ago, and wow! Loved this place, even beyond the awesome show Netsky put on. Friendly bartenders, one in particular, wish I could remember his name. Friendly security, awesome space, amazing sound & lights. So much room for dancing! They even had a separate stage outside with a mobile bar and blocks to dance on if you feel you must do so haha. Great venue for an up close and personal show, never felt cramped, there was always plenty of room to dance and lots of airflow. Easy will call, line moved fast to get in as well. Drinks were $6 which is great, as I was visiting from LA and those prices don't really exist here. Great night, great place, will be sure to return next time a good act passes through! =] read more

If you are looking for a great music venue in Phoenix with an inviting atmosphere and great service, don't go to the Pressroom. First, you will wait outside for well over 30 minutes past the time the venue says they will "open their doors". No clue what that is about but read the other Yelp reviews and it is consistent. Second, there is more security detail at this place than an NFL football game. I want to be safe but this is ridiculous. Once once you finally enter The Pressroom you will be hit with the immediate smell of urine; not stale beer smell but urine. The acoustics are decent which is why I'm giving this two stars versus one but all-in this stinks both figuratively and literally. The Pressroom needs to take some business lessons from the Crescent Ballroom which is the best/small concert venue in the valley. read more

The Pressroom is competing in the market niche of small, standing room venues, much like the Marquee, located in North Tempe. We arrived early to get a good spot for our general admission tickets. There is no designated parking for this venue, so even if you arrive early you have to fend for yourself with side street parking or find a parking garage. The exterior doors were not marked, and after 45 minutes a security guy came out and abruptly announced, "Hey, the entrance door is over here." There was no attempt to move those who'd been waiting patiently outside of the first door to the new entrance door; instead, with one about face, those concert-goers instantly found themselves at the back of the line. The doors were 20 minutes late in opening, the headliner band was 45 minutes late getting on stage, and there were constant technical problems with sound levels--a task they're supposed to work out well before curtain time. The venue, when set up for a concert, is designed for mostly standing room only, with a smattering of small tables with chairs scattered at about mid-point in the middle of the large room. Three small single-person staffed bars meant long waits in line for water or drinks - and the wait lines went into the crowd rather than being directed out of the mass of people. The video screens were out of service all night, so why even bother? I felt sorry for the bands, because The Pressroom did not properly promote the event, and could only manage to fill the venue to 55 percent capacity. With that small crowd, they could easily have provided chairs for the entire audience. The bathrooms are awkward as the sink and mirror area is shared by both genders, and first-timers are confused and cautious not to stumble into the wrong gender's side. They had a bathroom attendant, an unwelcome servant who solicits tips out of my pocket for tasks I can do quite easily myself. I can reach for my own hand towel, thank you. By the end of the evening, it was quite apparent that The Pressroom management cares not for the comfort of their customers. I attend two-to-three concerts in Phoenix per month, and without a doubt, The Pressroom is hands-down the worst concert venue in the Phoenix Valley. I would only go back if they hosted The Rolling Stones--beyond fat chance. read more

The Pressroom is a nice venue and I had a great experience, there was a mistake with my tickets and I talked to Caleb and he helped me resolve all my issues, he stayed on the phone with me and made sure I got everything fixed I was very satisfied great customer experience. I attended TrapFestAZ16. The event itself was amazing but that was due to the talent and the audience (great vibes all around). The venue itself was severely hot and there lack of consistent and accessible water stations was down right despicable. Look, I'm all for commercializing the bottle water, I'm even ok with boosting the prices of bottled water to $4, but to have your water station near the bathroom area, which is not obvious to the mass, that's dangerous. That must be changed; especially, at a rave seen where people are raving like there is no tomorrow. This must be changed; prevent unnecessary casualties. On the lighter note, security was on point. Present but never in the way; security allowed us to mosh till we dropped. So fun! read more

I attended Jeezy's concert here with friends & our experience was the worst. We purchased our VIP M&G Tickets through Ticketmaster, the venue did not have us on the VIP LIST, we were asked to step to the side while regular ticket purchasers were let in before us. The DJ & hype man seemed to be at odds, the VIP area is far from the stage & the security team did nothing to intervene with fights that erupted during the concert. Several underage drinkers were drinking, smoking marijuana, selling Ecstasy pills & snorting coke right in front of the stage. The sound system was great though. read more

Overpriced drinks. Shitty parking options now that Phoenix downtown charges for parking meters till 10PM. Ended up parking in some sketchy "Public Parking" place that charges 5 bucks that was being run by some guy that looked like he was railing the white lady all night long. VIP seating facing 90 degress from the stage on some motherfornicating uncomfortable crappy seats you'd put your arse on at a place like the Motor Vehicle Division for 150 freaking big ones? Really? Blow me, motherflowers! At least there is a lot of standing room. Blinding lights in your face if you stand next to the stage though. I tolerated this to attend a packed show for RCPM last Saturday. Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, that is. No - not a big fan. I have a friend who is and I figured I'd see them for the first time that night. Place needs a lot of work though. Bathrooms right near the entrance was another interesting clusterfarkle. I'd come again if there was someone playing that I actually gave a rat's derriere about. read more

I went with a girlfriend last night to the pressroom to see fever a burlesque show. Its was their opening night last night for the venue and the show. We had a blast. The show was hilarious and sexy, Kelly the host was so much fun. The show had a few technical hitches but kelly and the dancers handled it like pros, things I'm sure they will work out. The dancer were talented and sexy and put on a fantastic show. Fire dancing, aerials and stripteases were all part of it. It was a sold out performance and when we arrived there were no seats together, the management were so helpful and actually gave up their stage side table to us. The show will be every friday and will change themes too. They do dance classes from the dancer themselves too which sound like fun! Definitely would go back again! As a group it would be fun! I would definitely get central seats so you don't miss a moment of the action. read more

This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen, #1 they seem way more worried about under age drinking vs. kids stage diving and jumping up on the stage being ass clowns...#2 there are so many bottlenecks within the place if there was ever a fire or "incident" we are all screwed due to the layout, and the whole venue is so dark all over except for the stage lights - when they are pointing directly at the audience, they don't illuminate the band/stage (thanks alot)..#3 the sound (metal show) is very muddied and way too loud, alot of places just crank it up to make up for shitty sound...it doesn't work...thankfully there are very few shows at this venue that I am interested in...oh yeah one last thing the security guards were a huge joke, do better or go away Pressroom ! read more

Went there Thursday night to see George Clinton, music was great. The long wait outside in the heat was miserable. Website said doors open at 8, we didn't get in till 9. Door guy kept saying be patient 2 more minutes, that went on for 45 minutes I don't understand how u can keep people who paid ed good money to see someone and then have them stand outside for two extra hours on a heat advisory day sweating like pigs , they didnt even offer water. People were getting very upset. We get in the door and then they couldn't even take tickets because system didn't work.. Really! Get ur shit fixed, people will not keep coming if u dont. George was supposed to be on by 9 he didn't start till after 10. Don't buy VIP tickets for this venue, tables are only on the sides with people standing in front and in the middle, u will not be able to see anything and u don't get any extra attention, don't waste ur money. If u go here make sure u really want to see who's playing, at least u can enjoy that part of the experience. Good luck. read more

Went to Trapfest this year with a group of friends, the music was incredible on both stages. We spent most of the night at the main stage even though it was 100 degrees inside the girl bartender with short hair with the tattoo on her back took amazing care of our group and made and kept us cool with tasty cocktails all night! read more

This place is legit, every concert I've seen here has been awesome. The bartenders sling drinks faster than the crowd can order them and the pricing is CHEAP for a Concert venue. $6 wells, $4 beers and $8 shelves? Yes please! I went to The Pressroom last night for the Travi$ Scott and Young Thug concert. I read the reviews of this place before I went and was slightly nervous since a lot of people had a negative experience. The venue is quite large, bigger than what it portrays from the outside. All of the bartenders were fast, and friendly. I loved how they separated the 21+ from the under 21 crowd. The 21+ side was WAY less packed and we had use of the back patio area where they had two additional bars and seating. Over all there were four bars to get a drink from which lead to no lines and made getting a drink easy. I think it all depends what kind of show you see here, and the crowd those shows attract, since that will most likely impact your experience. The only reason I didnt rate it a five star was because of the bathrooms which seemed like no one checked in on since multiple stalls had no toilet paper and they seemed a wreck. The bathroom is down a hallway where the men and women's stalls are separated, but where you wash your hands is a combined space which gets pretty busy. Also the parking here is lacking. I was fortunate enough to get a good spot at a meter, but can understand the frustration with paying $6 to park in the lot behind the venue. read more

I love this place. They get legitimate artists to come through their club. Ticket and drink prices are reasonable. Never a line to get in.
