Good. It's a neighborhood bar with a lot of character and good beer options. The menu is somewhat more creative and interesting than you might expect, but they are ultimately specializing in bar food. That's not intended as a dig, it's just what they're serving. We showed up for a Saturday lunch ahead of a snow storm, and the overall experience was good. The staff were friendly. There were clearly some number of regulars around. The space is a bit old and drafty, but that just adds a level of character. In terms of the food, we ordered a few salads and a half reuben (part of the lunch special), plus an Italian flatbread. Nothing was exceptional, but everything was nicely prepared and presented. The vegetables in the salad were fresh and crisp. The flatbread was good but not particularly noteworthy. My partner liked the rueben, but thought it could use a little more sauerkraut. The Guinness was fresh and nicely poured. All told, this was a good experience. Understand that this is more of a neighborhood hang than a destination, but it excels at filling that role. read more

Karaoke nights at the pub are a great time. The crowds can be a bit much sometimes, but are nearly always singing along. I don't usually eat when I go. I made an exception recently and tried the pretzel sticks. They were kind of greasy, a detail I was willing to overlook because I was hungry and they tasted good. The beer selection is standard craft beer and domestics--I would love to see them stock more high abv beers in the cooler like they used to. Now it's mostly seltzers and IPAs. read more

I am a former employee from there as of today and I'll give the inside scoop that kitchen is the most atrocious kitchen I have ever worked in the the mainly the chicken sits on nasty water/chicken goo that drips out the chicken wing box all the time all the sauce bottles have sauce still one them from before I started 2 months ago every salad is made with wilted salad and they just made us throw fresh lettuce on top to hide it the whole list goes on and they either pay off there health inspectors or there's some other corrupt stuff going on it that area too read more

We stopped at Pub In The Park on our way home from an event, and I'm glad we did. The bartender was very friendly and took our drink orders as we walked in so that we'd have drinks in hand on our way out to the patio. It was a beautiful day, and the patio is a great spot to sit and have a meal. We started with pretzel sticks, and they were so warm and delicious. We also ordered a soup flight, and while it was a cool concept, we found that the soups were a little lacking in flavor. I opted for the hibachi bowl with steak, and everything was perfectly cooked. The accompanying teriyaki sauce was so tangy and flavorful. My guest opted for a sandwich, and he said it was good, but didn't many other comments on it. I will absolutely be returning to PITP, as I see they have a "weenie Wednesday" special menu. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food, so I would give it a shot if you've never been! read more

A group of seven of us went yesterday at 6pm. We were really excited to try the soup flight (which is the only reason we came in the first place) but sadly they told us they were out so we all got French onion soup, salads, or other appetizers. The inside is small but cozy. Luckily one of our friends stopped by really early so she was able to grab the big table for our group. My French onion soup was decent for a dive bar and reasonably priced. Our server was really nice as a person but service wasn't great. Our food took a very very long time to come out and there was no communication as to what was going on. It also all came out at different times so there was a point where we all had food except for one person (who when she finally got her Buffalo cauliflower said that it wasn't worth the wait). I asked for an order of the jalapeño popper egg rolls after I finished my soup and for some reason they brought it out in a to go container and bag even though there was nothing to indicate that I wanted it to go - most of the party was still eating. A man who claimed he was the owner kept coming over to our table. At first he asked us about the volume of the music and adjusted it which was good since we basically had to yell to talk to each other. He stopped by a few times after that to ask how things were going. I felt like he was trying to be friendly and charismatic but many of the people in my group felt that the attention came off as creepy and unwarranted. He was clearly pretty inebriated which also wasn't a great look. Finally, towards the end of our visit a lot of the men at the bar were using vulgar language (ie p*ssy) so loudly that we could hear them from across the room and that really made us want to leave. For some reason our server only brought out checks to the two people who specifically asked for them and I had to ask that the entire table get our checks since we were clearly done eating. While this place may work as a neighborhood watering hole for locals, we most likely won't be back, not even to try the soup flight. read more

We stopped in here one evening and ended up staying longer than expected and getting take out food to go. The vibe is really awesome, it's a neighborhood bar and everyone is so friendly. We met one of the owners and got to talking, and we ended up getting free drinks! The food was pretty good as well, we got spicy cheeseballs, a Rueben, and the buffalo chicken wrap. I was looking for a dog friendly place to eat since I had my dog with me. I found this place nestled in the neighborhood of Swissvale which had a dog friendly patio. It had its own door that led from the sidewalk to the patio. I got a draft of their Arsenal Cider which was quite good. For food, I ended up ordering a couple different items to try. They have a great lunch special for $10 - I chose the Turkey Club and Caesar Salad. I also got a small basket of Chicken Tender & Fries. The honey mustard that came with it was light and sweet. No complaints here for the pub food. It was all quite good for what it was and not too expensive. The server was friendly as well. If I'm ever out in the area again, I'll be sure to come back. read more

Nice little dive in Swissvale. Nothing flashy, but a good place for bar food and drinks. We got buffalo chicken dip to start (didn't take a picture) - it did not disappoint. Dip was spicy and had a good amount of chicken, but what made it extra good was the warm pita they give you for it. Philly cheesesteak was good, but my girlfriends French dip was better. I used her au jus for my Philly. Bartender was great - attentive and nice. Less Irish decor than I probably would've expected, but a good local watering hole. We were staying within walking distance of this place and went here for some pregaming before a concert. They had bottomless Mimosas for $19. I thought that was a good deal. Pub In the Park Inc- is a bar and grill in Swissvale.  A super cute neighborhood restaurant.  Friendly service and delicious food.  They have a full bar as well as both indoor and outdoors seating.  Their patio is dog friendly!  They have trivia night and offer other fun activities in their space.  We decided on the buffalo chicken dip app- which was delicious, warm pita served with a crock of great dip.  Tried their soup flight which was amazing.  Was able to try their French Onion, Cream of Mushroom and White Chicken Chili.  I loved the concept of a flight so I was able to enjoy a few different soups in smaller portions. Got their chicken hibachi bowl which was incredible- filled with flavor and a healthy choice! They feature daily specials- we went on a Wednesday- so it was Weenie Wednesday, got a hotdog with sauerkraut and fries- super good! Unfortunately, the music is played so loud that it is impossible to carry on a conversation except with the person right next to you as long as you yell - impossible to talk to anyone sitting across from you. I have been wanting to go here for years and finally made it this past week. We had a group of 7 and sat on the back patio. We were there around 6pm and I was surprised we were the only ones sitting there! I did venture indoors at one point to use the restroom and it was packed inside. They had some decent beers on tap that I partook in. I also ordered the soft pretzel sticks, mushroom and Swiss burger and chicken tenders for the kids. The food was good, not awesome, but good. I would definitely try more things off the menu! If anything I would come back just to sit on the patio for drinks. Good place for kids since we were the only ones back there! What a gem of a spot for bottomless mimosas on a nice Sunday afternoon. Don't be fooled, I asked their for drink specials and there was no mention of bottomless mimosas so I had a Bloody Mary only to find out the table next to us had bottomless! We quickly switched over and thought 15 for bottomless was still worth it! Our server was awesome! He had mimosas on our table while we were sipping our last drop of the mimosa nectar. Our food filled our bellies and some thing my brother-in-law said leads me to believe that the pierogies here might be some of the best around. Between my sister's hamburger salad, the amazing pierogies, and my potato scramble, this place is worth giving a shot. Went back here for their Lent menu. We tried the fish & chips, shrimp po boy, and fish tacos, with a couple sides of cole slaw. All were really tasty! The fish & chips had huge cod pieces with just a mountain of deep fried goodness. The fish tacos were pretty loaded too. The po boy was good but lighter on shrimp than the bun. Was recommended this pub by a dear friend of mine ! I'm not going to lie, I was turned off by the name. However, I'm always up for giving a place a try! My friend told me before we went to not set my standards "too high". When asking why not, he said it's not the best food you'll ever eat, however , the food is good, wings are jumbo and $1 on Thursdays and the drinks are cheap ($2.25 Yuenglings on Thursdays)!! Clean pub and great vibe ! The music taste there is on point. The staff was very friendly and spot on ! Very attentive and had our food out in no-time. I had an order of the dumpster wings! They were huge and great! Not the "best " wings I've ever had, but damn good! I'd certainly come here and visit again. It's your traditional Pittsburgh pub with a homie feel! Cute place! Met some friends for food and drinks on the outdoor patio. I ordered the pretzel sticks with honey mustard dipping sauce and really enjoyed them. Soft a fluffy, perfect amount of salt. The sauce was a good compliment to the pretzel as well. However, the pretzel sticks had a little too much butter on them. I dabbed excess butter with some napkins. Our server was very, very friendly and fast. I really liked that the had vegetarian and vegan options, including an impossible burger. Next time I come, I'll try that! read more

me and a friend stopped by to grab something to eat didn't have any intentions on staying long i actually ordered a ice tea with my burger. My friend got the wings. Both were fantastic. WAIT!!! MUST EDIT - The kitchen was open until 12am the night we went (Thursday). HUGE benefit. Definitely a place to get a late night bite and head home. Better than crappy Denny's or Eat N' Park by A MILE!!!! DISCLAIMER - Our first visit was on Thursday Wing Night. Considering they don't have seitan wings, probably not the best night to go for our first experience there. Keep this in mind as you read my review. We will be back, but this visit was "eh" for us. The positive: The food. Although lacking in vegetarian options, there are a few. I had the vegetarian sandwich with French fries. Grilled veggies, hummus, goat cheese, on a soft pita. It was very good! My partner had a white pizza (flatbread) with tomatoes, spices, ricotta and pizza cheese. Tasty as well. For a pub, the food presentation was pretty nice. The fries came out in a little basket, and the pizza wasn't just slapped haphazardly on a plate. Definitely making a good first impression for a pub that took on a full menu. Living so close, I wanted to like pub sooooo badly. As you can see, the food was tasty (although lacking a bit in veggie options), but there were also drawbacks, which led to my 3 star review: 1. Service was slow. Again, wing night, and two large groups there. However, even after the groups left, still REALLY slow. Our waitress was quite nice, but it took a long time for beer and food. 2. Ambience. I realize its a pub, but I thought with a full menu, the place would be a little more spruced up. I'm not downing it, considering I tend to frequent quite pretentious place (ugh!), but a flat tabletop would've been nice. 3. Veggie options, as stated. 4. Servers with beer knowledge, and/or, a beer list. They actually had a decently tap list, with at least two locals (East End and Arsenal), and a small, but well stocked, cooler with bottles and cans. However, if the servers know little about the beer, then furnish me with a list. We didn't get to talk to the bartender though. She probably knew more in the beer department.
