    Taco Pizza

Great local pub. The service was great. I had a cheeseburger and fries. My husband had a hoagie. My sister in law had a taco pizza which I tasted. The taco meat could have been a little more spice but it was good. I loved the atmosphere and it was trivia night. We will definitely visit again and try some of their other menu items.

    Cocktail stop

We stopped in here just for a cocktail. We sat at the bar and ordered whiskey on the rocks. The bartender was attentive and checked on us a couple of times. The prices were great. Seems like a nice little neighborhood place and they had dining outside. We did not try any food on this occasion. We had the drinks and were under a time crunch but certainly if you are looking for some reasonably priced alcohol this may be your spot! We will have to head back here again when we can try the food.

Dropped in after helping my friend pack up for a move to Colorado. It was great they had a parking lot (that fit the moving truck) and an outside patio for toasting with beer and eating some burgers. The appetizers we ordered, the curds, pretzels, and fries were all very tasty with the hanging pretzel being a definite crowd-pleaser. I also had the Guinness burger which was cooked to perfection. Our server was also great and made sure we were all taken care of. All in all it was a great place to grab a bite and say goodbye to a close friend.

    KKB chicken sammy

Came here with some Friends after a long week... Great beer selection, great service & great food !!!... I had the KKB chicken sandwich and it stole my heart !!! Super yummy I will be back to get this particular sammy again !!!

Granted it was St Patrick's Day and the place was packed (~ 4:30 pm). The bartender actually did her best to not look at people as to not take any orders. Then we got her attention, I asked for 2 Guiness, the response "we are out of Guiness, you will have to wait". That was it. So we ordered something different. We then ordered food, my wife got a BLT and the bacon was black/chard and I got the Rueben, the toast was chard. The other thing I noticed, we got plastic cups for the first round, then when the managers came out to help, we all of sudden started getting the authentic Guiness glasses. Bottom line, don't go to Public House on St Patrick's Day, so many different (and better) choices in Cheviot.

Food was okay. Atmosphere was alright. Nothing remarkable. Server was very friendly. Not many non meat options unfortunately.

The crowd was low-key and friendly. It felt very comfortable and relaxed, like a neighborhood bar should be. The added bonus is the outstanding bourbon selection and very fair prices. My SO is a serious bourbon drinker and he was floored. Very impressed. We indulged in some top shelf bourbon while playing bingo and had an excellent time. Also, we meet and chatted with both the chef and proprietress, who are very cool, down-to-earth and friendly. It's nice to know you can get to know the people who make the magic happen.

The staff is quite friendly. Bars in this area usually are hillbilly bars that play country. It's different here. This bar has more variety than many in trendier areas. It's nice to be able to find something for everyone's tastes. I had a vodka and ginger ale. This was about $3 for a strong pour. It was refreshing after being in the heat. They seem to know their stuff, so they can give recommendations. I am not often in this part of the city. It's because there hasn't been much interesting going on. This bar will change that.

Wow. This place is a TOTAL surprise, in a good way!…read more Upon entering you'll notice it is super clean, spick and span, and even though I guess you would call it a dive or a saloon the owner is meticulous and really cares about his establishment. Mike (the owner himself) was our bartender for the night and he was incredibly sweet. He shared his story and it had SO much history behind it. Turns out Second Street Saloon gets it's name because it used to be located on second street downtown. After so many years his lease was up and he decided to make the Westside home - hence why this bar does not feel uniquely "west side." He moved every piece of memorabilia he had collected over the 25+ years of owning it into this new location. Now, I usually hate collages and junk on the wall but his are framed and look really nice. There are many framed photos of Cincinnati from the 1800's on. He also had the original door from Second St. framed and hung next to the bar - which by the way is an antique that he had picked out and appraised by the Wooden Nickel. They had more than enough craft beer and local beer available that you got a decent selection but didn't feel overwhelmed. It was also a pint night where you got to keep the glass. We played darts and really had a great time here. At the end of our bar crawl we all agreed that we could have spent the entire night here at Second Street. For what it is, this place gets 5 stars from me, and I can't wait to go back.
