He was very kind, apologetic, and personable, and took the time to listen to my concerns. He was also open to reconciling the situation, which I really appreciated. I plan to leave another update after we return for another visit. I'm hopeful for a better overall experience next time, especially given how thoughtful and receptive he was in handling everything. ---------------- We chose this winery based on the amazing reviews, but unfortunately were pretty disappointed with our experience. When we arrived, there was no host at the stand, so our party checked in with the bartender to see if seating was open. The bartender went to find the hostess, who told us the only available outdoor table had no umbrella. Thankfully, we were able to move tables ourselves to get some shade. Oddly enough, the party seated at the original table we were offered ended up getting an umbrella brought out for them. Our server was kind and greeted us quickly, and she was prompt with bringing waters and wine. However, the issues started when our wine bottle wasn't brought out on ice, and our appetizer arrived without plates or napkins. Our server noticed and said she'd be right back, but she didn't return for about 20 minutes. We eventually received plates and napkins, but never got the ice bucket. What stood out most was the level of service at the table next to us their server was exceptional and consistently checking in and making rounds. Unfortunately, our experience didn't match that level of attention. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the service, although we did really enjoy the live music. read more

It's to bad had high hopes with the new owners. Service was great atmosphere and drinks spot on but the FOOD is horrendous! There were 8 of us and they were 0-8. Salad was a mixture of different items not even supposed to be in the salad. Wings were way over done and had onion straws stuck to them.the chicken tenders were inedible. Beautiful location in St Charles county and a great place to relax, grab a bite, a drink or two and listen to some music. They have 2 large patio areas overlooking water, full bar, food,nice selection of wines and space for an event. The Southwest egg rolls were delicious just the right amount of spice and cheesy crispness. What a beautiful place. I visited Quarry Wine Garden with my parents when they first opened, and I can't wait to go back! The wine was excellent, and the appetizers were tasty & paired well, but the real standout for me was the view of the quarry. It truly sets this place apart from other wineries. The seating options are great--you can dine outside. sit by the quarry and enjoy the view or relax inside, which is spacious and comfortable. It's a perfect spot for a relaxing day out. I attended the Galentine's brunch and will never return. It was disorganized and the food was awful. The buffet food was the worst I have ever had and a poor selection. There was only 1 place at the bar to get drinks, so it was a bottleneck cluster. The people sitting at the bar and nearby tables could not even sit in their seat a the beginning of the event because of bar set up. The worst part was the plates for the buffet were sitting on the bar, not by the food buffet. So in addition to trying to get drinks, people had to get back to the bar to get their plates. I've never been to a buffet where the plates were not near the food. The manager was just standing there watching instead of fixing the issue, however, the food could not be fixed. Came here to celebrate a birthday on a Thursday evening. They were having an event where vendors were set up selling small goods along the outer area of the dining hall. We did about 6 tastings each of different wines and then ordered a few glasses. For food we ordered the pulled pork sandwich and chips and the beef sandwich with au jus. Pros: -Lots of seating indoor and outside. There's a covered patio ceiling fans outside so this would be a great place to come in spring or summer to relax. -they have a pretty large parking lot -there's a full bar so they have wine, spirits, and beer which is really helpful when some people want wine while others don't! -they have a good sized menu with substantial food, not just cheese and crackers! -staff were super friendly and worked as a great team! Good advice on different wines as well Cons: -food was average, it took about 20 minutes to come out but it wasn't hot when we got it which was disappointing. Definitely would've preferred fries over chips as well. -although it was great to see the different vendors and items they were selling the space was very cramped. With all the tables in the area and booths set up all around it you were unfortunately bumping into people and squeezing by them to get anywhere -I like the idea of ordering at the bar but it does pose a problem when it's busy and there isn't enough staff behind the bar you will wait a while so in the future if it's busy we'd probably just settle for a glass of wine instead. -I wished there was a better selection of different wines. They had a lot of their local wines which were all different flavors (apple berry etc) but for people who don't enjoy sweet wines tailor your expectations accordingly Overall I'd come back to see if the wine selection has changed and to take advantage of the patio when it's warmer! read more

The previous menu was so much better than the current one with the new owners. If you dine there, hopefully you like fries. No substitutions for a more healthful side and the food is adequate. We had the French Dip and Pulled Pork. The French Dip had a marginal amount of roast beef and a very doughy roll which would have been better with more beef. The Pulled Pork was better. Service was good. Please bring back the broccoli and side salads. The price was high for the food we received. The atmosphere is very nice but the menu options seemed very limited. read more

Food and drink wise I was happy at the Quarry. I had a burger and it was juicy, well cooked and delicious. It came with chips they make in house which I'd definitely recommend. 3 stars off for their response to COVID. Staff either did not wear masks at all, or had them hanging around their necks. Tables were really close together and the place was packed. A sign said guests were required to wear masks and social distance but this was not practiced or enforced - including a dance floor full of unmasked people. If you're concerned about COVID exposure and regulations I would wait to visit because they aren't doing much to make it safe to visit. read more

Delightful place with good food but we could not get a glass of wine. Music is great and view of the lake is lovely. They need a lot more servers and bartenders though. Hard to be a wine garden when people cannot get a glass or bottle of wine without waiting in line for over an hour. We gave up after 30 minutes. Hope this business makes it. read more

The same price as great restaurants with great service! We came here for the first time in a year and have been sorely disappointed with the changes they have made over the past year. Champagne was the main thing I would come and purchase, they had a great brand that was typically $15 to purchase at Sam's Club and they would only charge $30 for it. Now they only offer a brand which you can purchase in the store for $8... and they are charging $34 for it!!!!!! I understand during Covid times businesses are having a hard time but that markup is insane and the quality of the selection has gone way down. The regular burger, sub chicken breast, was okay. However, everything else was terrible. Drinks were basically water. The pasta that my boyfriend ordered was so dry. I never got my salad. Picture Perfect - that is how I would describe the Quarry Wine Garden. The restaurant opened in February, 2018. The building is beautiful but the patio is astounding! It overlooks a pond that is picturesque and the atmosphere is peaceful. None of this would matter if the food wasn't good but fear not, it was delicious. Definitely try "The Cuban" sandwich with the cucumber coleslaw as a side. The servers were friendly and service was fast. A nice plus is the patio is dog friendly. I had the privilege of meeting "Hops", the golden retriever. This place can't be beat. It is a fantastic addition to an area that is in need of more (better) places to eat. read more

Grew up swimming in this quarry so Im glad they kept it. A couple things I like about this winery are the view on the patio and the great food menu. The asian chicken nachos were amazing. Two things I did not like about the winery are as follows. 1. They do not have there own wine 2. A big portion of the food menu is jot offered outside on the patio Other then that this is a good place to go on a nice day for some wine and great food. read more

I went to lunch with a group of friends at the Quarry Wine Wine Garden. I had never been before. We sat outside on the Outdoor Patio. Our table overlooked the Quarry giving us a beautiful view. The weather was perfect for eating outside. We all ordered a mix of both the White & Red Sangria Slushie. It was very good & we all enjoyed it! I ordered the Fried Ribeye Sandwich and it was a huge sandwich with onion straws & lots of delicious flavor. The Honemade Chips were good but could have used more salt or seasoning! I was only able to eat half of my sandwich but the Waitress happily brought me a box to take the other half home. This review bothered me. In full disclosure I wanted to give it a higher rating but ultimately the band shouldn't be relevant in the location's review. New place. A much needed addition to the area. Took forever ( like 9 years) to open. It is beautiful. Inside and out. Outdoor areas will be much appreciated during warmer months. Service - it's friendly but scattered and a bit lost. Bartender had minimal knowledge of their wine's during our"tasting". I think we taught her. None of their wines are from their own vineyards. It is a wine garden. Food - we tried the charcuterie board. Not a bad Boar's head plate. Well priced. Dinner: We shared the Pasta Carbonara entree. Came out on 1 plate (knowing we were sharing) but looked kinda pretty. Way, WAY salty. Good concept but way to salty and the same Boar's head lunchmeat included. Dessert - their dessert wine's are worth a try and shareable. Other desserts sounded good but we were done with "meh" food. The band that night - was so much fun and worth 5 ÷ stars. They absolutely made our night. 2 man band, can cover about any genre with appreciation. Dancing in front of the large fireplace was fun. We'll visit again but will hope for improvements and maybe a chef. read more

It stuns me that people would bring kids here or want to do so, per other reviews. This is a bar. It's not a kids' place. It's not appropriate to bring kids here. It's not a daycare center or McDonald's with a Playland. This is isn't North County, yet. Yet. Please don't ruin others' meals or times by bringing kids.. They serve alcohol, people smoke, yell, drink, bands play live loud music. In any case, you should not expect gourmet food at this place. They get their stuff from Bavarian Smoke Haus in New Melle, among other places. I don't see this place lasting under the current ownership, but it's still a nice place nonetheless. Again, I'd say if you're wanting a kid place, go to the Magic House or St. Louis zoo, or PTs in Sauget... PTs has a wonderful buffet, I'm told.... and kids eat free. read more

Ate here on the 4th of July. My wife and I were house sitting near by. Nothing much was open in the area. So we took a chance. They were quite busy. The rain had just stopped, and turned out to be a beautiful evening. Service was quick, and friendly. My wife got the shrimp and grits. Which were amazing!!! A must try. I got the fried ribeye sandwich. Was ok, but still good. Not a big fan of fat. If you like the fat it's for you. They didn't have a huge wine selection, but a good beer selection. The bar tender was far from welcoming. Told us to order food at bar and there was no table service! No " hi" or "welcome". We left.

The staff is great. The food is not. It takes forever to get even an appetizer that is purchased somewhere else. They tried to pass off a totinos pizza the last time. Charcuterie is also just chunks of cheese and chunks of a few meats with jelly and super pricey for that. They have gone down hill for sure. read more

I was so disappointed with my experience here. I am SO understanding of COVID restrictions and accommodations we must make at this time and I don't mind at all the wait for service however I felt all day that we were an inconvenience.
