The breath of the past can be felt here!…read more From its inception this was the hotel to be seen at. In 1932, Jim Webb brought his dream to Boulder City . It's a luxury hotel that has air conditioning. A place for all the A listers to stay, important individuals from around the globe to plan the future. This was their home away from home. Come in you're welcome here! The Boulder Dam museum holds so many historical artifacts from the early days of the day and outlines many toils of the past during its making. As you walk the halls they scream a story . If it was not for the "Friends of the Hotel, and its rescue in 1993, it might not be as great as it is today. After World War II, and the decades following the dam was closed and tourism fell to zero . Now after its restoration the breath of fresh air fills it yet again. Make sure and visit the hotel that inside this building. You can see how the Hoover Dam was actually constructed. How the design actually achieved? See the dam from the workers point of view. You can actually stay here too! The living space and rooms that so many people and actually workers have come before us. Truly what's not to love? Come and feel it !

Great place if you like the feel of a run down mental hospital or assisted living facility…read more I cannot imagine who would enjoy anything about this hotel. The woman at the front desk with the "cat ears" on did not even say hello or greet me other than, "I need your credit card." She earned ZERO stars for customer service. If you hate your job that much, then leave. The room, with its view of a parking lot, looked and felt like I would imagine an old school mental hospital would look like. I didn't even unpack. I walked downstairs and handed Miss Congeniality my keys back. What was I thinking?? HOW could this place have so many good reviews? To each his/her own but it was a HARD PASS for me. The location is 30 minutes outside of Vegas, not convenient to anything. The town has a SUPER WEIRD vibe. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. EVER. Complete waste of my time and money. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We checked in around 4pm and were greeted by the owner of Our Garden of Hedon, Jim, he was very…read morefriendly. He is a U.S. veteran and can be unfiltered at times but so am I so that was not an issue. The woman of the house, Peggy, is a hoot! She was very generous and even offered to let me borrow her shoes for the evening! She used to work at bath and body works so the house smelled great and he showers were stocked with smell goods. We were then escorted to our room fully decorated in Harley decor. Thank GOD and baby Jesus we didn't book the other room, the Raider room. That room is just disrespectful. There was already a guest in that room and he had guests each night as well... glad we were on the other side of the house. Jim and Peggy showed us around town that night. They took us to their favorite Mexican restaurant. The margaritas hit the spot. We then went downtown to Fremont St and had a blast until it was time to go. Before we got back to OGOH, Jim stopped off so I could get food. Very considerate and much appreciated as well! The dog of the house, Tank, is a bit aggressive with his affection and likes to show it on your leg. We are dog people so this wasn't a problem... just have to shower more frequently but as I said, the shower was stocked. They had plenty of alcoholic beverages and our drinks were never empty. Jim and Peggy bar be qued for and it was delicious! Burgers and chicken were not dry and had yummy flavor. The pool was fabulous, not too much chlorine to burn your eyes but just enough to be clean and refreshing! Plenty of seating and shade as well. After the bar be que it was time to head out to our next adventure. We are very appreciative and thoroughly enjoyed our time at OGOH and would defientely come back, Harley room only.

It's a sad story, I rented the Cowboy Cabin at the Blue Star Ranch with great expectations, only to…read morehave those expectations smashed like a overripe banana. First I am going to be 75 yr old this December so I have nothing but the truth to say. Shortly after arriving & signing all the documents for my lease for the cabin, and after my first few nights with the winds blowing and the dust flying I started to realize this cabin life isn't for me considering the walk to the bathroom was about 150 ft or so , I started having asthmatic attacks. I had to get to the hot water source which is in the bathroom to wash my breathing machine and as I walked to the bathroom my asthma just got worse, so I wrote a message to the owner Twila Silba and explained my situation and asked if I break my contract due to medical issues. Her response was yes but I would have to pay for the amount of time spent there, which seem reasonable and I would have to leave by 11am the next morning , which I agreed to. So the next morning I was busy packing and getting ready to vacate the Cowboy Cabin when I started getting really weird texts from Twila Silba. After a few minutes of these crazy texts she showed up at the front of the cabin screaming for me to come to her,so I accommodated her and went outside. As I got near her she screamed " get over here right now", then when I was close to her , she hit me, pushed and shoved me. I stepped back and warned her not to touch me again. My husband heard me and yelled for me to call 911 for immediate help. I called 911 the officers arrived on scene took my complaint and filed a police report on Twila Silba the owner of the Blue Star Ranch. I am so shocked that a business owner could act so hateful and have so much retaliation for such a simple request as to refund my monies and cancel my contract due to medical issues. I do Not recommend this establishment, it's a lot crazy and physically dangerous to anyone who might cross the owner or maybe she's just a pill head, all I know is that the Blue Star Ranch was a living nightmare. Don't risk another outburst from Twila Silba, find yourself a 5 star facility to ensure your vacation is relaxing and safe, no drama, no police just don't stay at the Cowboy Cabin.
