The most unassuming quaint hotel I've ever witnessed…read more It's easy to think that going to Vegas means you have to stay on The Strip--ease of transportation, proximity to the shows, and the ambiance of "the Las Vegas" experience. However, for those of us who come to Vegas often, staying at those hotels often means higher prices and headaches with navigating around the busy traffic. Having stayed at most of the larger hotels (The Luxor, The Bellagio, Encore at Wynn, Park MGM etc) I've had my fill of the dazzling lights and boisterous crowds. I do recommend you try these hotels at least a few times to truly soak in the bustle of Las Vegas night life. For me, I prefer to stay adjacent to, but not within, The Strip. This way, I can have some comfort in a quieter setting and can call an uber at any moment to meet friends along The Strip. This was the reason I chose Nirvana Hotel. Situated right next to The Luxor and The Mandalay Bay, it is both affordable and close to the attractions I come to Vegas for. The exterior is a bit off-putting at first. You aren't greeted with the pristine fountained welcome that you expect from Vegas--the wonderful precession of marble floors, the lush green plants, the ornate chandeliers. The main check-in station is inside the souvenir shop which resembles that of a run down gas station. Service is quick and the check-in process is painless. Their doors all use numbers so you don't have to worry about misplacing your card. Just don't get so drunk you forget! The room itself is very humble: queen bed, LG tv, two night stands, a small fridge, and a walk-in shower. Clean, organized, and arranged professionally. I will definitely stay here again. Connie was at the reception and welcomed me warmly. Parking is free. That's right. FREE. For your entire duration of stay.

You can actually move around in the bathroom and the toilet is tucked away a bit further from the sink and shower. The shower can accommodate tall and larger people and the water pressure is decent. There is a hidden microwave and mini fridge w coffee maker. All is tucked behind cabinet doors. The room is spacious with places to work, relax or sleep. To help and reduce the consumption of electricity, you will need to use your key card to turn on certain lights. The hotel lobby is spacious, open and airy. The decor is tastefully modern and clean. There is a pool, hot tub, gym and free breakfast. In addition to the facilities, you can walk to multiple restaurants and stores. What is not free is parking. $10 a day which I think it is odd due where the hotel location. However $10 is better than $20 or higher per day which most hotels are charging. I recommend when you reach a certain Marriott level, it should be a perk.

I immediately contacted Signature Rental and their response was less than desired. They told us no housekeeping staff were on location and they would be back at the hotel at 11 am the next day. Me and 3 of my guests were then forced to sleep next to a used condom with a smell of bodily fluids wafting from the vase. In the morning, we left as soon as possible to get out of the filthy room and waited for the room to be cleaned. I got a message from Signature Rental around 1:30 asking me to send a picture of the condom to prove there is an issue... i was floored. Not only have they still not cleaned our room, they need picture evidence to give the room a once over...After i told them i did not feel comfortable taking a picture of someone's used condom, they sent a snarky message about leaving our do not disturb light was on... Sorry, was in a bit of a hurry to get out of our petri dish of a room to check the do not disturb light. Later when returning to the room, we saw there was no signs of actually cleaning that happened, not even the beds were made. Surprisingly, the condom was gone. And the worst part? Not a single refund or anything comped. Am i crazy, or does forcing guests to sleep in a room with a condom not justify a free night at least? I assumed rental companies had some sort of morals for having people sleep in decently cleaned rooms, but not these guys.

Your job is hospitality, show it. So I wouldn't recommend this place, no because of the bugs....but because of the service....

Our area had shelving above the fridge and our friends' did not. The bed was a little stiff and their pillows were the "fully stuffed" kind....they weren't really soft. Overall, not bad. You look around and see other motels and they look run down and sleazy, but this one is pretty good. If we come up this way again, we will stay here again.
