Scottish themed pub. Nice selection of drinks. Lots of Scotch selections. Tried the Scotch egg and Toadstools.

This place had a very large selection of bourbon (and other liquor) options at really good prices. The sticky toffee pudding was amazing and the other food was good. Our waiter seemed to be new by understanding the drinks but was extremely nice and we didn't have any issues. The place is on the smaller side and when we went it was around noon where there wasn't many people. We were recommended by a family member for the bourbon options and good prices.

    Local black bear!

Fun outdoor patio! Many options for beer and wine. Local black bear sighting too! Good place to enjoy a sunny afternoon.

We called ahead to make sure we could get a table and Roger was super friendly on the phone. We arrived and there was plenty of seats. The bourbon list is EXTENSIVE. At least 350. For a small pub in Tennessee it was amazing. We had pretzels and beer cheese, curry fries and a sausage roll (just added to the menu) for starters and all three were so good but the curry was outstanding. The chef - Covy - used his own recipe and after tasting it I had the chicken vindaloo for my main so I could have more curry sauce. The fries were homemade and perfect. For mains we had the aforementioned chicken vindaoo, sausage rolls and fries, fish and chips and shepherds pie. My husband is British so he's a bit of a snob about everything (LOL) but especially about British food and he stated that the shepherds pie was as good as any he's had back home. The chicken in the chicken vindaloo was so tender. The fish and chips were perfect and again, the sausage roll was just like you would get in England or Scotland - if a little bigger. We are so glad we came across it when we were looking for places to eat. We were too busy digging into the food to take pics but we did snap some of the decorations inside.

I have been a patron of the older sister restaurant, the Fox and Parrot Pub for years and thus enjoyed this place.

You'll…read moreavoid a lot of the tourist traffic here with its unique vibe, and you'll come away with a memory of "that cute British pub" when it's all over. NOTES: -This place is run on bare bones staff. I'd guess maybe two cooks and the single server. It is not a place to come if you need quick service or quick food. They're very friendly (even if you're not a local!), but definitely come when you have a lot of extra time. -This place is not accessible in the slightest. You'll need to go up two flights of very steep stairs to make it to the front door. The stairs are on the old side, and I was concerned about one breaking. There is no elevator. -The parking lot is relatively small and shared with a nearby Urgent Care. It's gravel and grass, and people mostly made their "own" spot where they wanted. As this made for a haphazard parking lot with small margins for cars, I wouldn't let a newer driver park here. PROS: -Lots of unique British dishes. We've never seen somewhere serving Bubbles and Squeak and lots of other dishes. If you're not familiar with niche British dishes, you'll probably have to pull out your cell phone to figure out what some of this stuff is - and that's really fun. -Food is really good. It tastes like food-your-mom-would-make instead of gourmet takes on these dishes. It has a really authentic, small business vibe to it. -Unique beers on tap too. You aren't going to find Bud Light or Miller Lite on tap here. All of their beers are unique pub fare. They do offer some of the American favorites in a can/bottle, but this is a great excuse to try beers you wouldn't normally have access too. -Despite the older age of the building, the bathrooms are very modern and very clean. Most gas station bathrooms are in worse shape than the ones here. CONS: -It's definitely a small, "small margins" business, and all of the cons that go along with that. Food took awhile, upcharge for using a credit card, non-focal dishes may have been frozen/reheated/canned, and parking was difficult. That all being said, we're looking to come back again, and the atmosphere (and the taste of their unique star dishes) make it one of those places you'll actually talk about when you're done with your trip instead of forgetting that morning you simply went to Denny's to scarf down pancakes.

Good choices. Limited food but for tourist area very nice vibe…read more Drinks high though and no specials I believe it will be better

It was fairly busy when I visited, and there was a line to get beer, which isn't a problem. I happen to see a friend of mine waiting in line to get a beer. I walked over to speak with him. We hadn't seen each other in probably five or six years. Another guy cut in line right in front of him before he could get his beer. Then, when it was my friends turn, the bartender (Josh) was less than friendly. I realize that they're just pouring beer, but the gentleman was decidedly unfriendly, he did not smile even once; he did not even indicate that he was ready to take an order in anyway by acknowledging us with a look or anything. Heck, he didn't even speak to us. Honestly, he was just rude & beyond unfriendly. I don't get it. If you do not like your job, get a new one. If you don't like pouring beer for people (which does seem like a super great job), get a different job. The fact that he would be there on what appeared to be a fairly busy night, which is good for the business, and be so unpleasant is beyond my comprehension. So, the beer selection is very eclectic, with something for everyone. It's super great that you can buy beer to go. The female bartender was awesome. I'm conflicted on what sort of review that I should give Admiral pub, because there were so many positive aspects to it, except Josh pretty much ruined the entire experience by his sour demeanor (although I adore sour beers) and persistent scowl.
