Back in March 24 of 2026 on a Tuesday evening. SAMPLER plate. Watermelon. Dates Peppers Steak! YUMMMM!

    Jeremy R.

This place was a great find just off the strip in Gatlinburg. Huge menu with a lot of excellent options. The tapas sampler had lots of great flavors, the smoked Guacamole stole the show! The steak and lobster kabob was way more food than expected. Also the cocktails were great too. The service staff was friendly and the quick on the preparation of the food. The ambiance was nice and simple. A little more simple than expected but don't let that fool you on the quality of this place!

This place feels like it could be anywhere. The inside is extremely basic with almost no personality. Nothing about it says tapas or even Gatlinburg. It is just plain. The service is truly awful. Inattentive, slow, and chaotic. We had to repeat parts of our order multiple times and things still came out wrong. Drinks took over forty five minutes which is just unacceptable. The one bright spot is the food. The short rib arancini and the blue bacon dates are absolutely divine. I would come back for those two items alone. I also tried the watermelon tataki which was definitely unique. The flavor and texture combo threw me off, but it was fun to try something that bold. For my main, I got the grilled chicken campanella pasta and added steak. Both proteins were pretty dry and the rest of the dish was forgettable. Nothing stood out. Honestly, the appetizers carried this entire visit. Everything else was dragged down by the terrible service and slow pace. This is a two star experience at best.

Great food ! We had a nice time here and enjoyed everything. They have a nice patio but we saw a bear nearby so we stayed inside The cheese board was super good! We also got the rack of lamb and the salmon. Everything was delicious.

This was the first dinner place we tried on our trip to Gatlinburg. We decided to sit on the patio because the weather was perfect. Patio was clean and comfortable. We tried the appetizer trio first. The pepper with goat cheese and fig jam was amazing as was the caprese bread. We each got a burger. My husband tried the Hawaiian burger which was perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the surf and turf burger which was also perfectly cooked and amazing. The fries come with a homemade ketchup that is first class. We got there before the dinner rush and service was a little slow. Our server was not very attentive and took quite a while to come back to the table each time, which we found odd since they had not begun the dinner rush. Overall it was a good experience, just wish the service was a bit better. We will definitely try them again on our next trip into town

Staying in the area and found this spot, was so delicious I had to come came a second night - outside dining so out dog could attend- we had the best server Emanuel-these are done of our favs - lamp lollipops, lobster ceviche, bacon wrapped shrimp, short rib risotto balls, brochette- perfect flavor and execution- prices were reasonable, plenty of free parking- draft beer is perfect - will be back

Great experience while dining at Le Conte Tapas & Grill! We were on vacation celebrating a bride-to-be and came here for dinner. There is a lot of variety on the menu, so everyone was able to find something they liked. (It felt like a fusion restaurant almost, with some Spanish/Latin influences and then typical American grill food, but elevated.) The server (and manager) were all very attentive to our group! Would recommend, especially if you have a bigger party (we had 10 in our group).

Service was great, but the food is mid. We were excited to try this tapas place. But it doesn't hold up to most tapas restaurants. It feels like something they added. We had Patatas Bravas, Lamb Chops, and a Shrimp dish. We also ordered the artichoke dip. Expensive for the quality, not sure we would go back.

We ate there Friday night. I was surprised they weren't busier. I had the appetizer sampler last time I was there. I enjoyed it so I thought I'd try something else this time. The pig wings were fantastic! A lot of places overcook the pork belly. This was cooked perfectly. Soft, succulent and juicy!

This was a cute place to check out after a day of hiking around. It was right by our hotel and one of the few local places around that doesn't taste like some take on American. We ordered the sampler, the sirloin and the rack of lamb - sat out on the patio and enjoyed an awesome evening. The sampler was okay, it almost had me change my lamb order BUT I'm so glad I didn't because the rack of lamb was GREAT! the sangria was also refreshing and our server Jami (Yami?) was top notch. Would recommend to anyone trying get get away from the gross corporate strip down the road.

Coconut shrimp, not of the frozen kind! A hint of sweetness, perfect crisp and moist!

I've eaten here several times, the food keeps bringing us back. They tweak the menu, they have specials, and they keep it interesting. This weekend we had a lovely meal outside, it was sunny but a bit cool, we had the heater on, we wanted to enjoy the outdoors, it was lovely. We skipped the appetizers, ordered a bottle of a Spanish red blend, a Viento, affordable, lighter than a Cab, very nice and affordable. We ordered coconut shrimp, Chilean sea bass (always tasty and moist) and the Peruvian chicken (new item) ! Everything came to the table quickly, the dishes were well presented, very fresh, and so tasty! A few surprises, the purple rice, with coconut, had just a hint, a subtle hint, of sweetness, was a wonderful accompaniment to the fish and the shrimp. And the rich paprika sauce that comes with the Peruvian chicken ( a whole tender and moist game hen) that sauce, luscious and packed with flavor, as were the potato's bravas served along side. Service, efficient, and very pleasant! It was a great meal! Bravo

You need reservations; if you don't have them, you risk getting turned away. It's a husband and wife running the entire place. No extra help. They want you to stay and relax and enjoy everything. We only stayed 90 minutes and they tried to get us to stay longer. Like all the reviews say, it's a very European experience. We've never experienced anything like it. We started with an old fashioned and a margarita from the daily cocktail menu. Olga welcomed us with a hug and took us to our table. She didn't stay out long because she is the chef! But it was still cool to interact with her in the beginning. Both her and her husband made us feel like family. It started pouring and he walked outside with an umbrella and held it for 2 girls at the bar. I thought that was super sweet. We ordered the salmon roe caviar and it was divine. Our second course was the oyster flatbread and I ended up being sad I was sharing it. It was that good!!!!! We were pretty full at this point after a couple more drinks. They were really busy too, so we decided to go ahead and get the check. It started raining right after we got our check, so we ended up getting one more drink to wait it out. We had the best time and can't wait to come back!

We opted to come back here for dinner on our last night in the Great Smokey Mountains. Sooooo glad we did! Owned and operated by a European couple, the Red Oak has the ambiance of a quaint European restaurant that one would find tucked away in the Alps. While the inside atmosphere is wonderful, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the very quiet and beautiful forested hills of Gatlinburg. Service was incredible and very European - they told us they would not bother us unless we asked for something and that the table was ours for the evening. Yep...we stayed there for three hours, sipping our wine and trying various dishes of exquisite flavor. I'd like to say try this or try that, but to be honest: all the dishes we tried were absolutely phenomenal. We cannot wait to try this place again!

Knowing we were going up to the arts district, I looked for a place to meet them before the circle and saw there was a Celtic Pub. Only that was the spot where the drum circle was. And, to my surprise, it is the same owner as the Fox & Parrot Tavern in Gatlinburg, one of my favorite English pubs (and currently closed do to a feud with the US government - hope that gets fixed). The place is definitely British country feeling. Very nice tap list, including both local brews and standard UK brews. Heavy wood feeling with a very nice deck outside, which includes some spots under cover (which was important as it rained on the circle and people had to duck in). There is nothing elegant about the place or the food. But that is its charm. The fish & chips were on point, esp. with the malt vinegar. Shepherd's Pie a bit salty for my tastes, but not to the salt lick level. Also came with chips. As for the drum circle, if you are reading this in June 2026, that is every Monday at 6-8 PM through the end of the month. I got some great drone footage of the circle, which I added to this review.

I would never come here if I was in a hurry, but if you have 2+ hours to eat and want good food in a storied place with staff who will treat you like friends, you're going to love the Rampant Lion. NOTES: -In rural TN, it should not surprise you, but be aware that they have Trump displays in the restaurant. -The restrooms are single stall and accessed from outdoor. They're indoor restrooms - just the door to access them is on the outside. (No porta potties) They're solidly clean - just make sure to pack clothing that works for the temperature outside because you might be dipping outside a few times. -Parking lot is small and gravel. Relatively easy to get in and out of though. -Amazing gin selection with staff that *clearly* knows their gins. -Adorable photos of the owners on slideshow of their trip to Europe on the wall. It's adorably and clearly a couple who was on a good vacation. We've had a good chunk of their menu at this point. Pretzels: Delicious beer chese AND delicious pretzels. Quite a bit of food with this too. Bread, Oil, & Vinegar: Wasn't super fond of this one. A ton of oil in a bowl made it hard to get the right oil-to-vinegar ratio. Chicken Pie: Deliciously breaded with super-tasty french fries too. Served piping hot, so it took a bit to be able to eat it without burning myself but a wait well-made. Reuben: Partner absolutely loved it and said the bread was the absolute perfect consistency. SO much meat in there too (though he said it could use a bit of extra dressing). Bubbles and Squeak: Delicious. Just delicious. Zero notes, you should eat it. Beanie Weenies: Home-made right in the restaurant! My favorite thing on the menu. Super savory, semi-healthy (beans...at least?), and served super warm. Comfort food at its finest. Menu in-restaurant was different than online one on a few things.

We were greeted and seated promptly in a lovely little alcove near their patio, the perfect spot for old friends catching up. Our server, Olivia, was phenomenal, offering insight and recommendations into their seasonal menu items. We started with cocktails and appetizers. We loved the Roasted Beet Salad and Crab Bisque. Deee-licious! We then moved on to our entrees: Filet mignon (prepared Medium) w/caramelized onions & garlic mashed potatoes. The filets were seasoned and cooked perfectly - melt in your mouth, oh soooo good! Prime rib steak sandwich with caramelized onions & melt cheese. Opted for a side of grilled zucchini instead of fries. Also a big hit with our friend. I chose the night's feature dish of halibut and couscous. Nicely prepared and delicious. Though we didn't have room for dessert, once Olivia brought the dessert tray by, we quickly made room! My husband chose the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Of course I had to taste! I'm typically am not a fan of bread puddings due to being heavy and somewhat gummy! This one was absolutely light, and yummy allowing the blueberries to shine. Our friends shared the NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. Also, light, fluffy and delicious! I chose the key lime pie with toasted coconut sprinkled on top. Incredibly good with light tartness though I prefer more tart. Still, it ranks up there as one of the best I've found.
