The closest food place to our airbnb. They have snacks, alcohol, ice, pizza - exactly what we needed for our stay. We ordered pizza to share and while waiting, we browsed around the shop. Quite small place but they definitely carry what we needed. Wait time for our pizza was reasonable. They have tables so you can dine in but got ours to go. Pizza was delicious - loved that it was the right crust thickness and flavor was good! And of course, the location was also convenient for our needs. read more

Honestly amazing. Got a BLT and a Greek salad and holy cannoli it was bomb! The guy at the counter and the chef were to nice when I kept going back and forth and couldn't make up my mind, the chef even brought my food out to me instead of just leaving it on the counter for me to figure out. This is my favorite local spot ever!! I have been coming here ever since I was a kid! My elementary school was across the street and my dad used to walk me across to get this special treat! I'm in college now, and I still love coming here weekly. It has such a variety of food!!! From salads to pizza to pasta to soup, you name it! I get the turkey wrap on a spinach tortilla, and it is bomb. This place is my absolute go to whenever I'm in the mood for a quick and tasty bite. I always usually call ahead to order to avoid the lines, because they do get busy around lunch time. They also have a small convenient store in the deli which has awesome things as well! The staff is so so friendly, and it is always a pleasure to be served by them. They are so considerate and friendly! The prices here are pretty good as well. And they have tons of outdoor seating! I have this recurring dream. In it I'm Tony Andolini, an Italian tough from the Bronx trying to get close to the evil don who killed my father. One day he summons me to a deli for a job. But when I get there, the don is sitting in a chair and 5 of his biggest soldiers are waiting for me. They grab me and hold me down on the butcher's block. "You thought I didn't know who you were? You're the son of that puttana that stole my prosciutto!" "What? That's all???" "Yes - now let's make some sausage, boys." This is when I wake up craving some deli sandwiches. Ranch Deli is not one of these places. The owners are Middle Eastern, the staff is comprised of Mexicans, no one greets me with "Eyyyy! Doh-neeeee!!!" And yet, they manage to make some really awesome sandwiches, pasta and soups. Which leads me to suspect that there's someone named Guiseppe in the back doing all the prep work. They keep him docile by setting up a tv in his cell locked on Italian Series A soccer highlights and cigarettes. This is a really popular spot for people working around Fairbanks Ranch/RSF. I'm not sure if that's because it's pretty good (which it is) or if it's one of the only delis in the area (which it is). I'd go with a Grosso - salami, prosciutto, provolone mozzarella and various vegetables with some Italian dressing and pepperccinis. 6" for $7.99 and 12" for $12.99. The soccer moms (and there are a lot of them here) seem to love the salads here and the soups are pretty hearty and filling. Also available are pizza slices and burritos. Take it from me - a guy who watches a lot of gangster movies - this is good stuff. It might not be authentic, but when you're out in the boondocks, it really hits the spot. read more

Having driven by here a few times a week I finally decided I was starving. As if I can't decide I'm hungry unless I drive around town looking for reminders to eat. I don't know... with me it kind of works that way. I guess if I didn't have a car I might starve to death. Anyway, I was driving my car and I saw this place. Okay? I realized I haven't eaten and the place is a deli. I turned the corner passing it then doubled back and went inside. It's a sort of convenient store and a deli so you can pick up a few things. Not many stores in the area I guess. I ordered a breakfast burrito. Bacon, cheese and egg burrito. Not much to say from this visit having ordered such a basic thing but, It was good enough for a starving fool that can't figure out on his own when he's hungry. This is the closest place to my work for lunch. When I first got my job, I noticed a "Deli" button programmed into the speed dial on my office phone. I have not removed it, as I really do like this deli, and I order lunch so frequently that they know the sound of my voice (and usually what I am ordering). My "usual" is the delicious Avo-Jack sandwich...a hearty creation of avocados, jack cheese, sprouts, lettuce, and tomato on the tastiest wheat bread. It comes with mayo, but I usually opt for dijon mustard instead. The half sandwiches are huge and plenty for one person, and they come accompanied by chips, fries, or salad. Though the sandwiches are outstanding, I must admit that the salads could be much better. I have a problem with iceberg lettuce and its complete lack of flavor or nutritional value, and, unfortunately, most of the Ranch Deli's salads are filled with the stuff. I used to eat at the ranch quite a bit when I went to Solana Santa Fe across the street. It was hard to resist a slice of pizza when visiting the shop next door to get comic books, starburst, fun dip, and big league chew. I thought it was pretty good back then but mainly because I had no standards, wore sweatpants with the shirt tucked in, and played an ungodly amount of pogs. Overall it's a pretty average deli. The pizza is passable but not as good as I remember it being after baseball practice back in the day. I think they have gotten lazy after realizing people in Rancho will buy anything so long as it costs a lot of money. Also, they are trying to be a hybrid deli/pizzeria/taco shop which shifts the universe out of balance and makes baby jesus cry. I hate when places do that. This place works in a pinch and it's one of the only food joints in the area, but there's just nothing special about it. read more

Their food is pretty good and they have a lot of choices like salads, sandwiches, and Italian. The pizza is pretty good. It is thick crusted cheesy style pizza; it sits under the heat lamp for a while by the time I get there, but if you need something quick and filling, it is a good bet. If you come here between 1145-130, you will wait in a line that takes at least 10 minutes to order and another 10-15 minutes for your food... However..., This is an amazing deli/convenience store. The last time I went here, I was waiting for my dog to come out of surgery at the animal hospital near Helen Woodward. So, it's been several years. Back then, I had ordered an egg salad sandwich and it came with homemade potato chips. I used look forward to taking Sunny to his follow up vet appointments just to stop and get the sandwich/chips. Fast forward to last week. I was in the area and was nostalgic over the sandwich. It was dinner time. I got my half sandwich and the guy just threw in a bag of Lays potato chips.
