    Do you see any walnuts?

A Tuesday, 8/25, @ 10:51AM. I have lived in the area 3 years, and finally followed suggestions to visit. NO CLOSE PARKING! (Did not notice Handicapped?) ALL of it is public street with poorly maintained sidewalks; unsafe for even the most fit people. This is not all their fault; TAKE an UBER! Signage states customers should order before reserving seats; following the request, I got in line because there seemed to be AT LEAST 5 tables for 2 empty. When I got through line, not only had others after me in line placed bags or jackets on empty tables, but several parties of ONLY 2 had pushed empty tables together forming a 4-top, leaving me one table in a corner. Unbelievable, but by the time I made a second trip to the table with beverages and my "order number", a man had pulled a 3rd chair up to a table for 2, blocking the walkway to my guest's chair. He made no apology or reason. I moved to the last empty table, still dirty, outside on the patio. Luckily it was nice weather. No staff seems to attempt looking out for "policy-compliance", the customer experience, or FIRE-CODES. The Waldorf Salad in the case had apples that were turning brown, and definitely looked mushy. Try tossing apples in a small amount of lemon juice before adding to the salad; make this salad daily; for cost, perhaps make a bit less, and when gone..., just say, it's delicious and goes fast! Perhaps, you will get more buying it? I ordered a sandwich to share with my guest, asked for an extra plate, napkins, and utensils; the same individual delivered the food without it. When I walked up to the counter to retrieve them, staff ignored me. FYI: The ice cold water they "kindly" provide in the eating area is not even MINIMALLY supervised. I watched 2 kids (old enough to know better) basically washing their fingers under the spout. Their parents were 12 inches away too busy gossiping and blocking the walkway to the counter to stop them. Now, the food: Turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich on Rye: Rye bread=uneatable, dry, fell apart; all ingredients crammed in the middle, only added to the crumble! The thinnest layer of mustard, and mayonnaise on bread I have EVER seen; and I strongly oppose heavy amounts; Turkey was decent, but I wish the title would have included "PEPPERED"! Bacon, lettuce and Avocados were plentiful and fresh; however tomato was pale and tasteless. The pepper on the turkey was over powering. Sorry I did not photograph the plate. I did not want to embarrass my guest. Dill pickle was a bonus and delicious Macaroni salad was also a bonus, but uneatable; the elbow pasta was undercooked (could not get the metal utensil to "stab" it. Too much red onion; salad was generally dry. Again, I dislike sloppy, but the 2 small bites I managed to slide onto my fork did not even leave a moist spot on the plate. Orange juice was freshly squeezed and refreshing. Bran muffins to go; DONT be deceived; they look big in the case, but let's be honest; they should be sold as "muffin-tops". The bottom portion in the cupcake wrap "may" have been the size of a tablespoon; 3 walnut halves, maybe! Taste was good; had better. Blueberry pie! Wow! Huge portion and favorite part of my experience! As other reviews from recent AND a long time ago, the restroom was HORRIBLE!!! Public beach restrooms in California and golf courses are cleaner and better maintained. Management has not heeded restroom feedback in reviews. The price for the whole meal plus 15% tip; tip is fair enough for standing in line to order my food at a counter was 48.66! Now get this! In other reviews management freely admits the expense it takes to run a restaurant in RSF. (they are RIGHT!) Despite that, until I took a picture of the receipt at home, I did not notice I was not charged for the 2 muffins!!! Trust me, competence at the counter might help pay the bills. I live close, so I will return (with a driver) to pay them. I hope management is not retaliatory to the employee identified on the receipt. He appeared overwhelmed, but was kind and smiled, unlike the staff who ignored me when I went to retrieve the plate. I will try again sometime, and until I do and get better food and overall experience, I will be cautious recommending this to others. Previous to going myself, I had been blindly recommending them. Shame on me! Good luck! I might suggest a "sister"and more reasonably priced location! With their reputation, I believe they would THRIVE! A spot I might check into is in Del Mar- close to Gelsons, across from Flowerhill Mall. Perhaps name it "Thyme by the Ranch" Or "Thyme by the Sea";) Another small place might be nice just inside Whispering Palms (still officially RSF) call it "Thyme in the Ranch Cafe" (on the way to LaValle Coastal Club.)The one corner is still suited for a restaurant with a kitchen, etc. Both areas are being re-vitalized, and getting decent local, and visiting traffic! Thank you for reading.

Came here off chance, as the bakery we were looking for was not there. I'm so glad we stopped by. Their coffee cake was delish. So moist and yummy lemony. Customer service was great. They were nice at the counter. We didn't order coffee as we just had coffee beforehand. It's a charming little cafe. We will definitely return to try their coffee and breakfast items.

After changing ownership several years ago, the food wasn't the same and we stopped coming. However, I am happy to say the food is now back to amazing. I had the French Dip that was filled with tender roast beef and caramelized onions on a delicious Dutch Crunch roll. My husband had their Thyme chicken salad with big, fresh raspberries, lots of chicken and mixed with goat cheese and walnuts. Both entrees were huge and could easily be shared. The service was great, the prices reasonably, and the cozy restaurant oozes old world charm. What's not to like?

Such a cute spot to grab breakfast or lunch! The vibe is cute cottage. I walked in and they were making Christmas cookies packages. Staff was very inviting. I decided to try their quiche. I forget the name but it was the one with chicken. It was perfectly crusty and came with a side salad. I believe they also have a combo that comes with a soup. Also had an orange juice and their lemon bar, which I wish I got another to take home for later.

Cute little spot with plenty of parking nearby and a nice area to walk around in after eating. The whole time we were here on a Saturday brunch, people were coming in so it must be a popular local spot. Ordered the chicken focaccia sandwich and blueberry cheesecake. Both were not bad and the sandwich came with pesto pasta. For the price and taste, it was a bit expensive but we enjoyed our time regardless.

Love Thyme in the Ranch. Such a cute place. We usually order the full quiches from here for family gatherings. Their gluten free options are spectacular and their service is always above and beyond.

A few steps away from the Rancho Santa Fe down town area, we went here after admiring the cars at the car meet that happens here on Saturday mornings. They had indoor and outdoor seating. Walking in around 10:30am we were able to snag a table right away. We opted to sit outdoors and enjoy the pleasant weather. They have a collection of pastries and baked goods and friendly staff to help you choose. You order at the counter and take a number to your table and they bring out your food and clear your take when you're done. We got the mango cranberry coconut muffin, chocolate croissant, chicken focaccia toasted sandwich and the BLT+Avocado sandwich. These are all available in half and full sizes. Their breakfast offerings are available until 10:30am after which you get to choose from the all day offerings. Sandwiches were accompanied by a side of quinoa salad and a pickle bringing a refreshing element to the meal. The chocolate croissant was standard, and the muffin stood out for its interesting flavor combination of mango cranberry and coconut shreds. Overall, a solid brunch spot.

Very friendly and cute environment. I love love their pastries. Not too sweet. They are baked in house. Love their egg sandwiches. Everything is very delicious

Such a cute cafe in the heart of Rancho Santa Fe. Ideal for breakfast and brunch. Good variety of sandwiches , hot and cold. Always busy but service is quick. Feels like you are sitting at home but outdoors. Loved it

They advertise "100% natural smoothies," which is the main reason we stopped in. We ordered a 4 berry smoothie, and what we got was basically a cup packed with ice, filled with water, and topped off with a little organic juice. It was extremely watered down and not even close to what you'd expect from a real smoothie. Normally I would say something and give them a chance to fix it, but the employee's attitude made that feel pointless. She had zero personality and seemed almost annoyed that we even ordered--like it was an inconvenience. It felt like she knew the product wasn't good and didn't care at all. Pretty frustrating overall, especially when the advertising sets a completely different expectation.

Then a few years ago, it changed hands (Maybe more than once) and the only Location that I know of now is this one in the City of Encinitas in San Diego County. I haven't been there in 3 years because it is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive. But on fathers day this year, I decided to treat my parents to brunch as it is my father's favorite place for the Niçoise salad. So, i drove from Long Beach. Champagne Bakery is a small french Bakery and café. It is located in a very charming Spanish mediterranean white building with terra cotta roof tiles and a large courtyard with lots of tables under market umbrellas, reminiscent of a European small town square. The seating is almost exclusively all outdoors for the exception of a couple of small tables inside. There is plenty of parking out front. The menu has a lot to offer and is centered around french Café classics such as the French Onion soup, the Croque Monsieur and the Niçoise Salad. But they also have omelettes, paninis, savory and sweet crepes, soups, and more. They have lots of daily baked goods including baguettes, pastries, cake by the slice as well as whole cakes, coffees etc (see full menu in photos) I tried the broccoli cheddar soup for the first time. It comes with a piece of French roll. It was creamy and flavorful. I also got an omelette with spinach, mushroom and Swiss cheese. It comes with either salad or breakfast potatoes as well as a piece of french roll. I got the potatoes extra crispy. Everything tasted really good. My father ordered his all time personal favorite. The Niçoise salad and my mother ordered a soup and sandwich combo. We all enjoyed our food outdoors on a breezy and beautiful sunny day. The manager and staff members were super friendly and accommodating and Prices are reasonable. I wish we lived closer. I would visit more often. If you've never been to Champagne bakery, I recommend giving it a try.
