[[HIGHLIGHT]]We always have a great time when seeing bands at the Rave[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff, good energy and separate venues for multiple shows on the same night[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This is my favorite concert venue in Milwaukee! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've seen several shows and the new air conditioning unit makes a big difference.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been to several show where free waters are handed out, which is very cool! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The building itself is absolutely beautiful - the ballroom is stunning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plus the history here is very rich with several mega stars having sold out the venue!

I love this place. I've only been once for Crankdat but plan on coming again the next time an EDM artist comes that I listen to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is huge and has so many bars inside to get drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The area where the concert was also huge and I loved it because I wasn't getting shoved or felt packed like some venues I've been to in other places.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The one downside is that they don't email the tickets and I had to come pick it up or the other option is getting it mailed. I do recommend they email tickets since that is so much easier

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The Rave having AC is a game changer!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I saw a concert last summer on the same stage and we were hot hot hot![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]AC you still get the normal body heat but no sweat[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the adorable outdoor patio space that was the first time I've seen that set up here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Concert per usual was amazing![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm a big fan of concerts at The Rave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time seeing a show at The Rave/Eagles Club. We parked across the street in the fenced parking lot-- $30. Staff direct you exactly where to park and it was seamless process. Entered for the concert directly across the street from the parking lot and followed what felt like a maze to security/ticket area. While walking through I couldn't help myself and look at everything. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had Halloween decorations up and this place just appears to have a ton of different areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor area was huge and I remember needing to talk about to get back inside, it was kinda weird, and we had a good laugh about that.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came for the beaches concert. Once we entered right at 8pm, the opener was already on stage singing. I'd say they are prompt here. We headed to the bar for hydration and price for a liquid death was $7 ish dollars. Merchandise gear prices were beyond outrageous and ridiculous- $50 for a T-shirt. Talk about highway robbery on the T-shirt prices! The band was good and they played for sometime. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Venue was nice. I like the open concept with no assigned seating, and standing only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will say the sound quality to hear the performers was hard to hear the words, so not sure if it had something to do with the sound quality or where we were standing. I could hear the music, but very hard to hear the actual words.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Who knows! [[HIGHLIGHT]]One thing I appreciated was how many restrooms there were and there was NO line waiting for the women's restroom at any point.... Completely unheard of.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Gorgeous venue. I'd come back here if another artist I want to see will be performing. Until next time Milwaukee.

On the bill this visit, Jagwar Twin and 30 Seconds to Mars. HUGE thanks to The Rave for always being good to their fans; and a solid shout out to Milwaukee, for being one of the best no fuss no muss cities to see live music in. What has changed? $40 Rave parking and $15 dollar beers. I get that it's an old building and needs a LOT of work and The Rave need to pay for that somehow; but Jesus. The good news is that if you show up early enough, there is plenty of free street parking during certain times of the year and day. During the summer, The Rave fence in the front parking lot and have food and beverage vendors in tow which is a real nice touch to be able to hang outside before the show and get a bev and a bite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is also nice that they have kept The Penthouse (rooftop) open to the public so everyone can enjoy the beautiful views from up there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]And kudos to the plant people that have provided all the lovely flora up there that help make it that much more of an oasis, even for smokers ;)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everywhere you look you can tell that The Rave really is putting in the work to make the venue better and better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The most unsightly aspect upon arrival honestly is the heat/air tubes that snake the outside of the building still; but as a person who has previously owned a turn of the century home, I get it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The production crew in the big room do a great job, but no matter what crew or equipment you put in that big room, the sound never will be any better than it ever was, it just is what it is for that room, an orange will never be an apple.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Know that the big room bars and outside bars are very BUD influenced at the moment. If you want more variety, you will need to visit the craft bar on the second floor, plenty of bathrooms to be had on all floors. About the show, Jagwar Twin I had never heard of before but I was glad I caught his set. On spotify he is more rappy, but live, he rocked his trio up, between that and his looks, the crowd definitely perked up. Jared and Mars did not disappoint, with a high energy performance that incorporated members of the audience. A HUGE shout out to Joel who came 'this' close to stealing the show ;) Apparently there is a Rave app now? I have not downloaded it yet but be sure to check it out.

This is an older building that's been semi rehabbed into a concert venue. The ballroom is on the top floor, so be prepared to walk up some stairs. I didn't see an elevator, however the venue had a number of staff members helping guide you through the building. There's a good chance one of them can point you to an elevator if you need it. The ballroom holds around 3,500 people, however it's large enough that you won't feel cramped. Sight lines are all right. Sound is surprisingly good. I thought the low end might bounce a bit because of the ceilings, but the engineers did a good job. There are several small bars. They can back up a bit depending on the crowd and location. I wish there were more merch stands. The ones I found were shoehorned and uneasy to view and access. The building includes several other smaller rooms that host a variety of events. You might be directed to one of these rooms depending on who you're coming to see.

For the number of times I've been to The Rave I find myself shocked I haven't thrown a review out for it yet. The Rave is most definitely a historic Milwaukee venue. The building has that haunted castle appeal about it. Is it a dive? Absolutely. Is it one heck of an awesome venue to see a concert? Absolutely. The Rave is an iconic facility that has hosted some of the largest artists that were on their way up. The ballroom is large, but yet has a close feel about it. The building accoustics offer up some great sound. Drinks are a little on the pricey side, but that's to be expected at a metro music venue. Probably shouldn't forget - the place is DEFINITELY haunted.

The venue itself is not in the best area. When waiting in line I definitely did not feel the safest. I do know that they have food available however we did not eat. So I can't rate that. I do know they had a good selection of drink options but I stuck with water. Inside the venue itself it's spacious but very dark and if you have VIP you have to go up a number of flights of stairs that are not well lit. The show that we saw was great the production value was wonderful. We do have another concert here next week but knowing what I know now and given my own vision issues and mobility issues I don't know that I would choose to attend a concert at this venue in the future if there were somewhere else that I could feasibly see it.

This was my second experience at The Rave and Alexandra Kay did a fabulous job on the smaller Rave Bar stage. But MAN was it hot, like actual temperature. The crowd and staff and performance were all fantastic (of course it's a concert venue so expect venue prices at the bar) but I was so glad the smaller stage was so close to the front door as I spent much of the night outside taking breaks and cooling off. But what a great spot to see an artist in an intimate setting. My previous experience was in the largest of the venues within the Rave, the Eagles Ballroom. I splurged that time for the VIP balcony with seating. And it was in the middle of winter, hence me not being aware of there not being air conditioning. But we had a really good time. Even in the balcony you feel close to the stage. And the sound in both was fantastic. Pro tips, check their website regularly to enter giveaways and always note whether it's an all ages or over 21 show if you're not of age!

The actual venue itself is super cool looking. It's historic, it's a pretty ballroom on the inside once you get to the venue. The sound quality was decent, and I appreciate the amount of space that there was near the back. The prices are in line with what I'd expect from other city venues. What wasn't cool is the attitude of the staff. They were super rude and condescending, and didn't seem to care about peoples' questions or concerns. It wasn't just us- the people we were with also were trying to get questions answered only to be dismissed without answers and told to just get back in line. I won't rush to see something here again.

What are the best hotels nearby the Rave?

The Ambassador Hotel is the best one... You could try DoubleTree

Anyone have any experience getting picked up by Uber after concert? Is there a specific place for getting picked up in general? Also heard neighborhood around there is bad, true?

Normally the uber drivers pick up on 24th street. Side of the building is best. Neighborhood is sketchy, but after the show the security staff does some block walks to make sure everything is ok.

Run by the Colectivo crowd, it looks just like the Back Room, high ceilings adorned with metal trusses, fake and real plants, and no soundproofing. Checking in with the app the employees were super nice! Really refreshing. If you follow live music in Milwaukee you've already heard about the talking crowds and bad sightlines from the Buffalo Nickels show and a co-worker said the same about the Charlie Paar show. We were there early so got a good spot closer to the stage, but even close up the stage could stand to be higher. Luna was sounding good but the guitarist was noting a ghost in his equipment, band members seemed to be wincing from sound issues. Something for the club to figure out. Went to watch from the back and the room sound is really good. Sightlines are horrible back there, as the stage needs to be higher. The crowd was so talkative during the whole show, my friend noted people are disengaged from the bad sightlines, so that makes sense. Stand in front of the truss with the wifi device for a better engaged crowd, good sound and better sight lines. Bar offerings are good, bathrooms are clean and stylish. A solid three stars (OK) with room for improvement.

The interior decor appears to have been moved directly over from the Back Room at Collectivo, with the same ceiling treatment and plants - both real and faux. The bar is also pretty much the same, with mixed drinks, wine, beers and non alcoholic options. Seating at this show was all folding chairs, but the staff brought out more when they saw the size of the crowd in attendance. Perhaps it was our average collective age. There are a few loveseats and high stools along the right side of the room. It is not a fantastic acoustic space, with it's abundance of hard surfaces and no soft finishes, but it is intimate and allows you to get right up by the musicians. The bathrooms, at least the women's, are large with plenty of stalls and flattering lighting. This is a good replacement for the Back Room - essentially a carbon copy - but you have some chance of parking successfully over here as the street is less busy. There are also plenty of restaurants around for pre-show eats.

The bars are efficient and there's rarely a big back-up. They offer several CBD/THC options, a decent bar, a selection of pre-made cocktails as well as, at this time, CBD/Delta treats. Their rail alcohol options aren't bottom of the barrel rail. They've just switched to cash-free, so plan accordingly. They also have an on-site ear plug machine, which makes me sad, but I know is a boon for many. Sadly, there hasn't been a bar/food option available on the ground floor for a while. The seating is dependent on the show - sometimes there is, sometimes there ain't. I'm at the point where that's a deciding factor for me, I want to sit, or at least have the choice to sit. I'm not in love with the entryway stair case. Two floors until you can access the performance level. It's slow and cumbersome. They really need a waiting area inside for people getting a ride share, because parking is expensive and limited here. The Deer District area is sometimes chaotic and sometimes scary. It would be great, especially in winter, to wait inside for a Lyft or an Uber. But after all of that, I've seen some great shows here and made some great memories, so cheers to Turner Hall!
